The Riccarton Inn Pub and Dining

Went on a Sunday evening which was surprisingly busy. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed the meal. Service was very good and attentive without being annoying. Highly recommend eating here. It was a cold evening and a coal fire was lit making it very cosy.

Great food and service. Often have the fish of the day, and it was delicious. Sea bass fillets and lemon spinach risotto. Perfectly cooked and very tasty. We always ask for a booth in the bar, so although noisier than the restaurant, it has great atmosphere. Highly recommend the the food, service and atmosphere.

Lovely family dinner. We went at 5pm on a Sunday and it was quiet initially then got busier later into the evening. The staff were lovely and friendly and were great at accommodating our 11 month old in a high chair. The food was excellent. They always have a pie of the day and catch of the day so lots of interesting choices. It was a perfect evening.

New menu options and they are great - had the salmon en croute which was exceptional and toffee apple cheesecake - great atmosphere , super staff and food and an easy on the eye bill

Had relative with hard of hearing and we asked for speaker to be turned down at the part we were in, this was done with no problem. Had lovely food.

Good food, welcoming real fires and dog friendly. Just the ticket after a blustery walk on the Pentland Hills!

I had steak and haggis pie. Sometimes pub pies seem a bit like a frozen standard issue, disappointing in size, taste and content. Not this one. I was gutted, that - after an excellent cullen skink starter - I just couldn't manage the last chip and mouthful of pie. That was my fault, the pie was extremely tasty. If I had to the only problem I could highlight is difficulty hearing the guy on the phone when I rang up due to the background noise in the bar. Service was helpful with a sense of humour, and the beers were pretty good too. I had a Loch Leven beer, followed by a Timothy Taylor Landlord's. Several other real ales were available.

Lovely food. Great to be able to get a smaller portion.

Staff inattentive to us, but very attentive to the tables who clearly visited regularly. We waited 40min for our meal and no check back to see if everything was ok. But again, a check back was done to the other tables. We waited to long that our daughter didn’t even get her ice cream that was supposed to come with her meal deal - nobody’s asked if everything was ok with our meal when we paid at the bar either. Such a shame as food was nice, although risotto was pretty tasteless, but we won’t be back.

Three of us dined at the restaurant last night. Lovely atmosphere with a real fire burning in the grate which was very welcoming on a dreich night. Food was well presented and hot . Staff were attentive without being intrusive. Overall a great experience and we would definitely eat there again.
