Singletons Nurseries has been in business on Birmingham Road in Lydiate Ash since the first half of last century, so to say it is a trusted outlet for premium soil, grass, seed and plants for families around Bromsgrove is a bit of an understatement. What we can’t overstate, though, is that Singletons Nurseries should be just as well known for its superb cafe – The Potting Shed – which offers fabulous homemade cafe food and delicious cups of coffee from their own freshly ground bean blend. The Potting Shed has a lovely atmosphere, so it’s ideal for a relaxing countryside meal (the eggs benedict are some of the best you’ll find outside Birmingham), whiling away the hours with a coffee and a book, or meeting friends for afternoon tea and The Potting Shed’s spectacular home-made cakes and goodies – from homely Victoria sponge to tiers of cupcakes, scones and finger sandwiches.
