Staff made us feel very welcome.food was very good . Will go again. Very pleasant atmosphere.
My fish finger sandwich was a bit cool, it could have been stood on the pass too long. my friends risotto wasn't very hot but we were hungry so didn't complain.
The food was lovely, I had the Mac n cheese with beef, very tasty.
We had the mother huff platter to share and I must say it was very, very good.
Lovely waitress excellent food. Will be back . Ideal for everyone
It's a shame it's always so quiet in the week. They should do more offers maybe. But I had the lunch special, £11 for fish and chips and it was lovely.
Great food and staff. Dog friendly. Nice place, very lovely
Last minute decision to come to Great Alne, pleased we did
Lovely venue. Good food good service will definitely be back
Tuesday lunch , very quiet (real plus if hard of hearing) Great surroundings, good food and service. Definitely recommend.
The food was good and reasonably priced although it’s not a huge menu. The service wasn’t great though. We were left for quite a while a few times waiting to order drinks and for the bill.
Friendly staff good food great setting enjoyed it a lot
Lively food Lovely service Great value for a lovely evening
Superb Sunday lunch, masses of food, well cooked served with a friendly smile, will definitely visit again?
The food was cold and it tasted awful left most of it service was very bad one of the worst meal I've had
Quiet when we visited but great food, service and friendly staff. 😃👍
Food was excellent quality and quantity and very reasonable priced,
Attentive staff food well presented but not enough chicken in the curry more bone than meat and no bajees
A staple product of fish n chips not available, the girl server not too interested in her job it seems……not good overall and can see why with very few diners for a Thursday….
Warm welcome and excellent service. Friendly staff. Highly recommended venue
Nice place, staff welcoming, good food, good selection of beers too.
Comfortable., no background unwanted "music", no dogs in Restaurant..good restriction.
Excellent friendly staff with good value food and great atmosphere
First time visit. Lovely tasty food, great staff, very nicely presented and dog friendly. Will definitely be back.

Took straight to a table, very quick service and beautiful food
Food good, staff friendly and helpful, very nice lunch with friends
Great atmosphere. friendly & helpful staff, well worth a visit 👍
Family outing for birthday celebration ,lovely food ,great value Sunday menu 2 courses for £21.Nice setting with various places to sit ,bar and snug with dogs allowed and the resturant area ( no dogs).
Very nice meal and great service. I would definitely recommend.
Very friendly and professional service matched by a great meal.
First time visiting and would return again. Starters were nice, arrived quickly and nice and hot. Didn’t expect a full pizza for cheesy garlic bread! The Halloumi fries were delicious. Mains arrived soon after, my wife had a chicken burger, which was a bit dry. I had Pie of the day which was Sheppards pie, nice and hot and tasty. Couldn’t fit in pudding. Service was pretty good, getting seated and ordered. Didn’t get asked if we wanted sauces when mains delivered.
We were more than happy with our visit, will be returning.
Good meals, large portions. Great Sunday Roast. Service good. Thanks.
My roast didn’t have a Yorkshire. I had the lentil & nut roast which was dry and not very tasty and my pudding was cold. Everyone else’s food was very good, all the roast veg and Cawliflower cheese was lovely - people there are really friendly. Would go again
Booked the huff cap for lunch for a party of 4. It was quite quiet but we're made to feel welcome, shown our seats and given the menus, as the food is not ping food there was a little wait, but food was good and worth the wait. Well worth the visit.
Lovely as usual, not had a bad experience and foods always great
Staff were attentive and got us a quiet table as requested. Our server made a good start but then he disappeared and served the other side of the pub, for which he later apologised. Food was very good but the main a bit on the cool side. Nice vibe, a bit quirky and good sized portions.
Friendly welcome and fantastic Sunday lunch. My veggie lentil roast was very tasty. Crumble and custard was gorgeous.
Food was great and the staff were so lovely and accommodating. Would highly recommend
The food was very good. Our party all had Sunday lunch. The service , as usual, was excellent too. All the staff are so helpful. My one gripe however is that the non alcoholic drink prices are extremely high and nobody likes to get ripped off. HPA a pint is £4.20 an excellent beer and a good price. All their beer is kept in a great condition too. 2 in our party were on dry January. A small bottle of Zero Heineken was £3.90 and a pint of Lemon and Lime racked up £5.50 price tag. You can do better than that!
A bit slow, and asked not to gave certain things, but they came on the plate anyway. Very nice food, nice service.
Met with friends on a freezing winter night. We weren't able to be given a table other than a cold one next to a window although a heater was plugged in next to us. Food good. Service relaxed.
Friendly staff and delicious food. The prices were reasonable and the place was cosy with the fireplace going
Polite friendly service, a little slow but good. Food was delicious, lovely atmosphere, would recommend.
Fantastic chicken pie!! Lovely historic building. Thanks for a great night
Had a fantastic meal ..lovely atmosphere and staff were excellent..first class service and food ..highly recommend
Good food and service. However, thought the wine was VERY expensive which made it an expensive meal out !!
Good service and really tasty Sunday roasts; tender beef and beautiful braised red cabbage. Our dogs were welcome too.
Food was great and server and bar staff were very pleasant as always, but the restaurant area was very cold (same a week prior) and the waiting times very long, especially as there were seemingly few people in the pub? Also the portion size (fish and chips was significantly smaller than previously, only a smudge of mushy peas on the plate!)
