Fabulous food, lovely staff and cosy Christmas atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
The Red Onion has a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. The food is delicious. I struggled to eat 3 generous courses. Good value for money and a lovely wine selection. Friendly staff very busy with large parties which caused small delays for us. The large Xmas parties on the ground floor also accounted for some noise but not unbearable. We were seated in an upstairs booth which was more intimate and comfortable. Overall a fine dining experience experience.
Lovely meal first time in restaurant service good apart from one waitress who met us who wasn’t too happy looking!!! Waitrose who served us was lovely. Will definitely be back.
Delicious food, lovely service, Christmas atmosphere and warm and welcoming. No complaints.
First time at the Red onion Glasgow, restaurant had been recommended by a friend and it certainly did not disappoint! Food was amazing, service was excellent husband is coeliac -menu for him was varied staff were knowledgeable and vigilant. Cannot fault it in any way will definitely be back.
Love the food here, especially today as we chose the Christmas menu and it was superb..
Very festive atmosphere given the nicely arranged Christmas decorations. Friendly and attentive service which was appreciated. The food was generally very good. I would make two points: 1. The fish cake was too salty. It had a very good flavour which was a little overpowered by the salt. 2. Serving mayonnaise and ketchup in plastic bottles was disappointing. A small ramkin would have been more civilised. Otherwise, we had an enjoyable meal.
Visited a few times now and never felt let down
all good food came quickly and was very good value
Had a nice table at the top. Service was very good.
Best meal in a while. The fixed price menu is great value and the food is superb. My wife loved the gluten/dairy free menu. First time she has had 3 courses on a night out for a long long time. No problem for the Red Onion. Staff were great as always. Food was served in good time but not rushed. Thanks for a great night.
Great service, food & atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant in Glasgow
We had the pre-theatre menu. The food and service were excellent.
Great service and food as usual. Consistently high standards every time.
Lovely meal at The Red Onion. Very heplful with my dietary requirements. Very comfortable atmosphere, proper background music that did not intrude on our meal
The food at the red onion was wonderful. I had mushroom risotto, my friend had the lemon (korma) chicken and followed up with frozen raspberries with hot white chocolate sauce (OMG) and apple crumble. The service wasn’t rushed and a small mistake was rectified and we had an apology and free hot drinks. Would be happy to return
On entering Red Onion met by by a very pleasant and helpful member of staff. Shown to our requested table, coats taken and given menus. Once settled asked what drinks we would like - and given plenty of time to peruse the menus. Food was to everyone’s liking. Also had a nice chat with Chef Quigley, chef/patron All in all a nice experience and will 100% return.
Lovely decor and atmosphere. Attentive staff and food was good too.
Food is good but our group of 7 are unlikely to be back unless the table can be booked for longer than 2 hours. We had 2 courses and felt rushed at the end. A dining experience is not just about the food but catching up with family and friends in a nice, comfortable environment. We were also shocked when the waitress dumped dessert spoons in the middle of our table-not the service we’ve experienced before at Red Onion.
Family tradition to come here for Xmas dinner, and never disappoints. Great food, friendly staff, and lovely menu.
The whole dining experience at the Red Onion was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious, we had clean plates all around and the staff were very attentive, friendly and efficient. The chef even came out at the end of our meal for a chat which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this place.
As always a great meal with excellent attentive service by waiting staff-great value also
Great atmosphere, service & food. Perfect pre theatre dining. Fabulous.
Lovely meal, very relaxed atmosphere and very attentive staff. Looking forward to my next visit.
All week staff great no waiting time especially at Christine time
Service and food were both excellent. The restaurant was very busy but staff were polite, efficient and friendly.
Fantastic 2 course pre-theatre meal. First time at Red Onion will definitely be back. The French Onion soup was amazing as was the Pork Loin. Lovely staff
Amazing atmosphere, staff and food. Will definitely be back. Thanks
Always love a visit to Red Onion ☺️ the vibe is good, the food is great and the service is fab. I would like it if the menus were updated a bit more often though as I think I've had everything on the vegan menu multiple times now!
Wine spilled at table while filling up a glass. No clear up done but apology at the time. Food was good but not stand out on pre-theatre menu.
Food was excellent with a pleasant service in lovely surroundings too.
Our Favourite restaurant. Beautiful Food always, Staff are so nice and the restaurant is beautiful. Intimate ambience, cosy and very welcoming
Went after we heard about the place on the radio. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly but the food was a little bland.
Hadn’t visited this restaurant in a long time, food was fantastic, service very good and a lovely Christmas atmosphere!
Attentive, pleasant staff Good food and inventive menu Good atmosphere
Great food and service nicely presented and good value for what it cost . Certainly be back.!!
Food was excellently presented, so fresh and full of flavour. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and was lovely and warm. Staff were very professional and friendly. The owner was also visiting tables asking if the customers were enjoying their meals, which is a wonderful person touch. Excellent value for money too!
We’ve been dining at Red Onion once a year for at least 10 years now - every time we visit Glasgow. For the team to have produced such exceptional food so consistently over the years is an incredible feat. Well done to John and his team.
Excellent vegan options in a beautiful warm and friendly setting.
Food was lovely. Good menu options to cater for all. Some minor cosmetic touch ups needed around restaurant. Overall it does provide a cosy festive environment. We would return. Thankyou
The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Menu choice was just right and the dishes we chose were excellent and reasonably priced. Ambience in the restaurant was very good. An all round top experience, would definitely reccomend..
