Staff very welcoming and attentive. Nice cosy atmosphere. Food was very good and I was not disappointed. However, I did not rate a 6 as I felt that for the cost I was hoping for a bit more quality. That said I’ll definitely return. A minor complaint.

Nice clean place with attentive staff. I thought they were fairly new and learning the ropes, but they were very helpful. The dishes were lovely - well presented and quite authentically Italian!

This is a well appointed place - clean, bright and airy. The lasagna was excellent - a big square of meaty pasta - and the venison pasta was equally tasty. We had a side salad to share which we didn't manage to finish! One of my dining partners raved about the Tiramisu for ages! We'll definitely go back.

The risotto had none of the advertised seafood, there were three prawns and some totally dried out clams. No scallops no calamari no mussels only a few shreds of unidentifiable mushy pink stuff mixed in to the rice which was not risotto rice. Risotto should be creamy, this was more like long grain or basmati in salty water. The melanzane and calamari were ok, the soup was the wrong dish completely. And you don't serve whisky in a shot glass.

Great family run restaurant close to our hotel. Very friendly staff with lively tasty home cooked Italian food. Would totally recommend. Wine was great too 😊

Molto buono - fantastic, friendly staff and a chef whose dishes are exeplary on all fronts. Very impressed with the Nutella-pistachio cheesecake. Atmosphere is very immersive in Italian culture. 10/10

This was really an experience of italian cuisine and taste. Simplicity, friendness and careful for the customer. Quality of the products used for dishes. Excellent.

It's a great place - I have been before and I will go again. The waiting staff are always different and this time, they seemed inexperienced and a bit unsure of the menu. The Pollo all Milanese is advertised as coming with salad and chips, not just salad. I had to ask for the chips and the cameriere seemed confused. But the food is aways excellent and well prepared. Ti rivedro!

Nice restaurant and staff were pleasant but my meal was too salty couldn’t eat it. My partner had the lasagne and it was very nice.

Excellent food, but not many options. I was surprised not to find carpaccio in the menu. The staff was nice and friendly but I was disappointed that the manager did not take my Individual Club loyalty card, in fact he said he had never heard of it....?

Always a great experience, this dinner was terrific as expected! The staff are wonderful, and create a very welcoming restaurant! Totally authentic food, don't be surprised to find many Italians enjoying their meals, speaking Italian to the owners!

How did we not know about this place? Nothing to look at outside, but fantastic ‘home cooked’ Italian food and super service - we will definitely be back!

Excellent restaurant Food was very good. I had monkfish and my husband had pasta. Both were very good and good value for money The service was good. We were going to the theatre so everything was very efficient The restaurant is very bright and has facility to sit outside which is lovely We will be back again soon with our friends

Second visit to this reasonably new restaurant. Warmly welcomed and seated by a friendly waitress. Using an itison voucher so waitress explained what was included. Food was as before very tasty and freshly cooked, Service was good and not intrusive. Will certainly return

Pasta tasted stodgy,partners chicken greasy.Was here on voucher so perhaps may be different if full menu selected.Ideal location near city centre easily accessible.Bookingeasy on inter.

Lovely little restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was great, they serve nice cocktails and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Will visit again.

Delicious food, helpful staff, and fun decor! I’d highly recommend Piccolino. I had the bruschetta with aubergine to start, followed by delicious lasagna and amazing tiramisu.

Quite a comfy, cosy, cafe type character, food was good, but very limited menu, service was excellent. Three of our party had Lasagne, which was very tasty, one had the steak which she claimed was just so-so.

Good quality food at very reasonable prices. Mussels were particularly good. Wine also good value. Genuine, friendly service. Very likely to return in the future.

The food here is very good as is the service. Not a huge menu which is what we like and the way it should be but something for every taste. Its our second visit and I would go again In fact we are making this our local Italian

Friendly place, good attentative service and a family feel. Definitely worth a visit. Would happily come back for another lunch. Nice to be able to sit out in the sunshine.

The service was friendly friendly but realy slow. We waited ages for our food. The pasta was realy bland and was undercooked. It wasn’t awful but we wouldn’t go back.

Great service and the food was absolutely wonderful. We ordered the cheapest red wine and that was lovely too. Lovely place. Would definitely go back.

Excellent find! The meatball starter was the overall winner, but enjoyed all parts of the meal. Great value for money, lovely staff and cosy atmosphere - we'll be back!

We have been in the Manchester restaurant equivalent several times - we have grandson and immediate family there - the experience is always very good, esp. with a three year old. Initial disappointment in Edinburgh was that we were unable to use our loyalty card, also unable to access the pre theatre menu. Service was okay, no more,but generally a rather dour environment overall, would not return.

Totally fab authentic Italian food so fresh, hot and good quality. Staff so helpful and Italian. It’s great out of town but worth the walk.

Food was ok although nothing special. Starter courses bigger than mains. Service was very very poor. Was not offered water. Glasses left on table even though we were not having wine or water obviously.

Piccolino (little one) is only the name! Great idea to create recipes with a mix of ingredients imported from various Italian regions. great food, very friendly and professional staff, reasonably priced! My compliments!!!
