Poor service, food more style than substance and main course inedible

It was ok but nothing special. Ordered 2 hendricks gin and tonics to start with. Asked our server if the tonic was a 200ml one but was told it was just a small tonic. Got the gins with 2 200ml tonics which we didn't want. Worse still the gin was served with lime instead of the usual cucumber you should get with hendricks gin. Ordered meal with wine, got food no wine. Was then asked if we wanted a drink which is when i reminded then of the wine order. Food was OK but very small portions. Ordered a double expresso which when it came was just a filter.coffee definitely not espresso. Over all very disappointed.

Loud music and a dry burger but awesome service and great fish.

We had a fantastic (Birthday Evening meal) on the 17th March, The restaurant has just started a new concept 6 course tasting menu for £25. All we can say........It was amazing, every course was mouth watering and very more-ish. The service given by the waiters is 2nd to none. 100% recommend this venue for an amazing dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Mason Belles. The restaurant was well set out to take into account social distancing rules, but busy enough to create a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the quality and choice of food was excellent. Highly recommended

Whilst the food is OK, it’s not what’s described on the menu. That’s not the sign of a good kitchen.

After many months in lockdown it was great to be out again. Mason Belles was well set up to ensure you felt safe and welcome, staff were attentive and professional as always. We ordered our starter and mains then sat outside at a prepared table and enjoyed some wine and beer while our meal was being prepared. We returned indoors and enjoyed our starters which all four of us enjoyed, then we were back outside to finish our drinks prior to the mains being served. The food was tremendous and the whole experience uplifting. Don't take my word for it just go and experience it for yourself. 😊

Nice welcome, friendly staff, spacious table with open view. Service excellent, food excellent, portions a bit on the small side.

This was my first visit but I will definitely be back. The food was amazing and the steak I had was cooked just right.

First time me and my boyfriend have been, I felt a bit underdressed for the occasion was more of a fancy place to eat. My first visit here with high expectations. I had requested a window seat which we did not get but a nice table and lovely decor. Waited for a little while before being asked what we wanted to drink. Ordered wine and fizzy water. They brought out still water and we then had to wait a long time before there was an opportunity to tell them about the missed water and we ordered food. Starter of whipped goats cheese arrived very quickly and was out of this world- very delicious. Our main course arrived a little later and mine was divine but my friend had received the wrong dish. Took a while for correct dish to come out by which time I was glad mine was a salad so I could wait to eat together. The food was amazing but slightly disappointing with customer service especially in a high end restaurant like this. We ordered more fizzy water later on in the meal which also required to be asked for twice as they had forgotten and not once were we asked if everything is alright with your meal as you would expect. We did however get our drinks on the house due to the mix up with my friend’s main course. Will probably be back again and hopefully have a better all round experience.

Food was good but couldn’t get a chilled bottle of white wine. Waitress took the view it was our problem and “take it or leave it” approach.

Our meal was absolutely delicious. All courses had amazing contrasting flavours . Please congratulate the chefs. So pleased you are back.

White wine was warm. Took over an hour for 2 main courses, with no offer of bread etc. No apparent Brunch menu. A la carte prices, with lunch time sized portions.

Good presentation of food although fish portion extremely small. Staff helpful and friendly but service was very slow and felt they needed one more waiting person.

Nice restaurant, pity about the chef. This was a lovely restaurant, nice views of the garden, stylish decor. The service was excellent, with friendly, attentive and efficient staff. The only weak point was the actual food. Started with onion and parmesan soup, not much trace of the parmesan, but then it was not possible to taste very much through the over-salting of the dish. Main course was mushroom and halloumi flatbread, with two or three small pieces of halloumi just discernible in the oily morass of mushrooms and soggy bread. The chef here needs to learn that his role is to bring out the flavours in the food that he cooks, not overpower them with too much oil or salt.

Lovely place, decent value, food was quite good, service strange. we went for brunch and were offered a drink order immediately, but it was about 20 minutes before our food order was taken despite our being the only customers. A couple arrived who were given their menus just as our food order was taken but their food arrived before ours. Not sure what that was about. Maybe the staff are just out of practice? Having said that the serving staff were all very pleasant and obliging. No atmosphere whatsoever, although I suppose in the current restrictive climate everyone is too busy trying to abide by the rules. Overall it was fair to middling but I wouldn't rush back, and that's what I'd tell anyone who asked for a recommendation in Linlithgow.

The new decor was lovely and gave it a fresh feel. The food choice was excellent and they catered for food intolerances well. The food was tasty and fresh but sometimes not quite what we expected. Gnocchi stated Wild garlic pesto but it seemed to be sun dried tomato and brocoli. The toffee date slice was expected to be warm but it was cold. However both were very tasty and we will be going back.

As always a delicious meal and lovely staff . I have no problem recommending Mason Belles .
