Great locatin and convenient to shows and Coventry gardens. Excellent service. Fantastic wine selection. Look forward to returning soon. Also lunch menu looks very good as well.
The quality of the food and service was excellent, in some areas the tables are a but close together. Will be eating there again .
The restaurant was nice, a bit quiet at 7.30, presumably between the theatre diners. Unfortunately I felt our waitress had no idea about the menu/offers and what was on offer. That made ordering a bit awkward. Food was nice, but I had quite high expectations and was left a little disappointed. With the Tuesday wine offer it worked out quite good value.
Great pre-theatre meal and service; just round corner from venue. Good choice and value, with friendly staff. Would recommend for couples , families or larger groups.
Love this modern Italian restaurant. Original menu, great food and friendly but efficient service. I have been several times now and always had a great meal and a great time. A gem of a restaurant in Covent Garden. Highly recommended.
Great Service an food was amazing. Bit noisey with loud pop music would be so much better with som Spanish music. Apart from that very nive place to eat.
Nice staff and tasty Italian food. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is also set in a very convenient location next to the opera. We recommend it!
Great service, great atmosphere, perfect vine selection, food is OK but not WOW, portions are reasonable, a bit pricey. Good place to relax and enjoy evening ether with mates or with family.
Lovely atmosphere and perfect for our pre-theatre meal. Very friendly and efficient Polish waiter. Overall a good experience and pre theatre menu was value for money.
the food is great and staff are very friendly and helpful. Served in good time if going to the theatre before. Great cocktails. Unexpected gem from the outside. More seating available downstairs X
Great food pretty much all right, but for a bland tasting sauce to accompany the soft-shell crab (which was exquisite. The service was below par unfortunately. The waitress seemed incredibly disinterested in her job, shrugged her shoulders when the point of the bland sauce was raised, and couldn't even serve a meal with a smile. I don't like highlighting negatives, so I will leave on a positive. The main courses were arguably the best Italian courses I have had in London, and would recommend to anyone. Improve on the points highlighted, and you're onto a winner
Lovely staff! Fresh, sumptuous food and gorgeous wine - what more is there to say?! Go check it out even for the snacks and a glass of wine - happy feasting folks :)
Lovely restaurant in great location for the theatres around Covent Garden. Efficient friendly staff. Menu was versatile and served in good time even though very busy on our visit. Would recommend to others.
We were charged twice for our bar bill. We were interrupted at the bar and made to move our bar stools to squeeze in a group of guests who obviously knew the owners of the restaurant. We were originally told our table was in a far corner but in the end we were seated near the open door where there was a draught. The pre theatre menu was poor. I ordered the gnocchi...I counted 8 pieces in total and they were immersed in mushroom sludge. We won't return.
Had a good evening at this restaurant, tasty food served by pleasant staff in a nicely decorated restaurant. Had a good cocktail list which was a nice surprise. I would recommend this place.
First time at this restaurant and loved it. The food was delicious and staff friendly ( and loos clean!). Will definitely go back and would recommend it.
Post Theatre Dinner , Great Food & Atmosphere , Would Reccomend , Great Service & Value , A real Italian experience close to Covent Garden.
This was great food and very good service. The menu was varied and the food was fresh, simple and very well presented. The carbonara and arancini were amazing.
the service was very good and food nice could be a bit better choice on menu as I think the pasta choice could have been more
The food was good, but the service was not. The table was not ready, when we came in time. It took long time to get the menue and food. Our impresssion was that it was a group of students that had their part time job. Lot of workers no structure. Find a new manager.
Great food at a reasonable price. Good service and a nice atmosphere. Only minus is that it is a bit noisy in there, but I will recommend it.
Excellent food, attentive but not intrusive service and no pressure to leave the table when we chatted over coffee. The set menu is excellent value.
Excellent Service, fast but without compromising on quality. Ideal location for the Duchess Theatre next door. The Staff are attentive and service is with a smile. A great Restaurant, well done
While I usually avoid restaurants that cater to the touristy theatre crowd, this one didn't have that feel. The food was fantastic. Good ambience. The servers were attentive and food arrived fairly quickly. Drinks took a little long though.
Excellent food and excellent service. I would highly recommend it. Clean and nice ambiance. Perfect for a pre-theatre meal as it's right in the heart of Covent Garden.
I ordered the set menu which was good value and I really enjoyed the food. It is a very handy location before seeing a show.
Great service and food to match. Friendly staff who take their time to explain the menu and offer advice on which wine goes best with your order.
I ordered the set menu which was good value and I really enjoyed the food. It is a very handy location before seeing a show.
Very ordinary food with a long gap between courses. Pasta dish served tepid and seemed to have been stood for too long prior to being brought to the table.
Very quiet when we went in (it was 17:00 on a Monday though). Made to feel very welcome and not uncomfortable despite it being so quiet, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, very interesting menu that lived up to expectations. We ate from the main menu (as we had a discount voucher) but the theatre menu is essentially just a cut down version of the main menu and looks excellent value. A short walk to many theatres so a great location if you're heading that way.
Love this place. Every time we go, we are disappointed that its been so long since the last visit. Warm, friendly service, lovely contemporary dining room, great location and the food! Interesting menu with lots to please vegetarians as well as meat lovers. Their pre/post theatre menu is fab value too. Fantastic wine list and the some of the best cocktails around. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
Lovely food. Staff were polite, and food came quickly. Would reccomemd. Great prime location. Service a little slow and not overall busy but would still go back.
Starter was fine but my main course (risotto) was undercooked and was missing an ingredient (parmesan). I returned my meal. The second version was not much better but at least it contained all the right ingredients. Whilst we were there the people at the adjoining table and the table behind also returned dishes. I would not go back and wouldn't recommend (even for a quick pre-theatre bite). Staff not particularly friendly either.
Food did not match its price. Had the octopus which was ok, but the liver parfait was horrible. Would probably recommend just eating the pasta.
Excellent in all respects, clean, fresh, modern, comfortable, affordable and excellent service. Located close to aldwych theatre area and many varied restaurants. Recommended for business or leisure.
The mashed potato was unbelievably watery and the steak was practically alive (asked for medium), over priced for what we got, would not recommend to anyone
I have often been to Four to Eight and every time I have enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff have always been friendly and enhanced the visit.
Excelent service. Really good Pasta and very good wine. Like being back in Italy. No doubt; we will be back the next time we are in London
Excellent food, wine and service. Will definitely eat here again when in London. The portion size is just right allowing you to enjoy 3 courses and they were sublime.
On Valentine's you could only choose the set menu which was 3 courses for £55 a head without drinks. This was not specified when we booked and it was a bit disappointing that the choices were very limited.
Staff great, food fantastic. The non alcoholic coctails are 'on the button' for the non-drinking guests. Exceptional place for post dinner shows. Will dine there again soon!
The food was really good and not the usual Italian style menu. The staff were really nice and friendly too! The ambiance was very chic and lovely! :)
Small little place in the West end, most convenient for pre-theatre visits and yet not busy at all. Food was great, especially the pasta. Shame about the slow service when delivering dessert and bill but they were more than apologetic.
Sadly the experience did not live up to the positive reviews I'd read in advance. On arrival we were met by a rather dour man who didn't say hello and briskly led us to our table downstairs which was wedged between the open kitchen service bay and the door leading to the dirty dish area, not a great start. This was followed by a waitress who didn't know the menu and offered no drinks list until prompted to do so. I should say the food was very good but the combination of waiters passing me every 2 minutes combined with the the really high noise volume did little to create a relaxing atmosphere for dinner. The mean was not cheap and did not match the experience we had. There are better restaurants nearby....
Food was excellent & was matched with great service. 10/10 & will be recommending to all my friends. Go for the bottle of Argentinian Malbec 2014!
Excellent meal - food was superb. The most tender chicken ever. Food all served promptly. Everyone I party was very pleased with their food. Desert was to die for! Service great - our waiter Polish chap was informed on menu, helpful with wine choice and humorous. Definitely would return. Gteat find.
Four of us went after the theatre on a Saturday night. It was quite busy upstairs, but quieter downstairs. The staff were friendly and on the whole the food was good, although my husband was expecting his liver to be thinly sliced when it was two chunky pieces. Wine sold by the glass (150ml) or carafe (500ml) or bottle, with a good choice. I wish more places had a carafe option. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go again.
I chose this place after googling for Italian restaurants near to the Novello Theatre. The food was good, but a little over-priced. The temperature in the restaurant was cold and was made even worse by staff opening the door to a chilled storage room every 5 minutes. We were also the only customers there and it was lunchtime in the Christmas holidays so there was no atmosphere at all - other restaurants in the area were packed. Unfortunately I wouldn't go back there again as there seemed to be better alternatives very close by.
Good food and a pleasant pre theatre meal. The tortelloni with black truffle was exceptionally good. The wine list was a little underwhelming and over priced.
A good selection of dishes, fresh ingredients, staff were friendly but not in your face and had good awareness of allergens. A thoroughly enjoyable pre-theatre experience.
