V. Nice meal. Great staff. Will visit again. So convenient for theatr
Good atmosphere, friendly staff and good service would recommend this restaurant
Lovely meal of sea bass followed by Tiramisu. Very nice glass of rose wine. I received attentive but not intrusive service. Great location for a pre theatre dinner.
Great restaurant, enjoyed the food served and the service provided was great! Love the ambience. Price was relatively affordable too. Would definitely return to the reataurant again.
Offered a pre-theatre menu, but didn't manage to produce any food for 40 minutes. At which point had to leave and go to the theatre hungry.
The food was very good and portions were exactly right. The service was also very good. It was good value for money but I object to the service charge been added without consultation say that I would definitely return
The service was good as was the food. I liked the minimalist feel of the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would certainly go there again. It had a varied menu and I thought the tempura cod starter was great. I have not seen that on a menu before and will certainly be having that again on a future visit.
Food was rather good, very friendly waiting staff, except when we initially arrived we were greeted by a rather grumpy chap but it didn't ruin our evening.
The pasta dishes were very small, especially for the price. The sharing bread platter - the bread wasn't nice at all. My truffle pasta wasn't great.
Service was good, so were the drinks. The food was a bit bland and simplistic, for example we had chicken as mains and there were no sides to it (e.g: fries, vegetables...)
We went for Valentine's Day dinner, having had lovely meals here and excellent service on our two previous visits. Unfortunately, the wait service were inattentive, the menu was severely restricted (presumably to make serving easier on a busy night), and most importantly the food was cold. Not sure we will give it another shot, but I recommend steering clear if they've got a set menu.
Inedible bruschetta for a starter. Good main courses. They had run out of two of the five puddings by 7pm. Overall it was Very disappointing for dinner.
We ate at 6pm on Tuesday 13th. The service was absolutely fine but the food was disappointing . The children's bacon bits in the pasta dish were mostly fat and should not have been served. The calf's liver was not sufficiently cooked at the edges. The prosecco was more flat than fizzy! Simple things to get right in the future though.
Basic menu, cold room, service standard, wouldn’t rush back, food ok, nothing more to say really about the whole experience, I booked the restaurant in advance worrying that we wouldn’t find anywhere to eat, it was located conveniently for our hotel and theatres
It was...... ok. Despite the good reviews online, quite frankly it was mediocre at best. Nothing wrong really but nothing very right. The tuna tartare was lovely quality fish but with nothing to get the tastebuds excited, the smoked lamb burger was very processed, only came well done and was clearly relatively low quality mince and the pork belly was tiny and about 60% fat. The only saving grace was the glass of red - a Masi which was delicious. May come back for the wine, certainly not for the food
Pretty shocked by the poor quality of food here. Service was good, attentive waiting staff, etc. But the food was an absolutely rip off. Starters: "bruschetta" dish included a slice of dry toast with two cherry tomatoes chopped in half and placed on top. No olive oil, no garlic, no herbs, nothing. Just two raw tomatoes on dry bread. My 4 year old could have produced better. Mains: gnocchi was patently straight from a supermarket packet, the kind that costs £2. I should know: we have a bunch in the freezer at home. This was supposed to be a decent Italian restaurant; can't you even make your own gnocchi?? If I wanted cheap supermarket pasta with crap sauce, I would have stayed at home. Avoid this place like the plague: utter waste of money and ruined a rare chance to have dinner out with my wife.
Alentines day is never a good time for a meal out unless star struck or love struck. No a la carte menu only a set meal. Service good, food ok but not better than that.
A great expierence, with excelent and sublime food served at a Cosy Italian restaurant by smiling and polite servants fullfilling a pleasant Night in London
Little effort by staff and chefs, making the food below average and the experience nothing special. Price and quality does not match at all sadly.
Had a pleasant evening at four to eight service was impeccable the young lady knows her job. She explained all the dishes on the menu will be back
Food was cold. Service was terrible. Sides were very expensive. Other patrons around us were getting refunds for the same issues. Gnocchi was burnt. Not great. AVOID
The service was lovely but the food which held much promise was disappointingly below average and expensive - dry bread, a tiny amount of olive oil, unseasoned everything and all around tasteless.
We enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner very much! Great drinks and food. A great location also and attentive staff. We highly recommend it for everyone, including children.
Lovely meal. No piped music which was a plus. Food delicious. Perfect for business meeting. Location great - about 10 mins walk from Waterloo Station.
Terrible experience. We booked for a 60th birthday, for a pre-theatre menu. We allowed nearly 2 hours for our meal, 1 hour into our meal we hadn’t even received our starters. When our starters arrived the bruschetta was dry bread with chopped tomatoes and dried oregano. After an hour and half we were told our main meal would not be ready in time for us to see the show and we had to leave hungry, and very frustrated. Do not go here if you want a quick / high quality meal - you will be disappointed.
Nice food and good service. A great Italian that went the extra mile to help my lactose free friend. It is great to find somewhere that isn't a chain and to get a more personalised service.
Lovely atmosphere, but we were disappointed that the fish option of the pre theatre menu wasn’t available despite arriving early in the pre theatre time window. The vegetarian gnnochi was very bland and chicken was dry but wine was delicious.
The waiter was very freindly but knew next to nothing about what food they served. The portions are very small for the cost although very tasty.
Poor service, unfriendly staff, bland food and vastly overpriced wine, freezing cold wind blowing through the restaurant because even though fully booked they kept opening the door every 2 mins to walk ins instead of putting a note on window to advise fully booked, took my wife for her birthday and we couldn't wait to get out of the place. Probably the worst dining experience I've had. This is the only time I've been motivated to leave a negative review for any restaurant.
Tasty food and good concept, but incredibly slow service. The bread and starters took 30 minutes to arrive despite the restaurant being relatively quiet. The calamari and arancini were both excellent, as were the mains, porchetta and pasta. Although there was a pre and post-theatre menu there was no lunch menu which was a little disappointing.
dined early and room temperature was a little cool until it got busier later. otherwise, very good.... good service, nice food and reasonably priced. would definitely return.
Great quality. Reasonable price. Perfect location. Great service. Speed was set by us. A good Independent Italian Restaurant. This was exactly what we were looking and hoping for! Thank you!
The food was poor for all three of our main courses. Whoever was in the kitchen was an amateur. Food was flavourless. The risotto was underdone and without a key ingredient listed on the menu. The calamari was chewy and its dipping sauce bland. The duck was underdone as well, and the pasta and clams appeared to come out of a can. It is hard to understand the positive reviews of this restaurant.
Great location, surprisingly good food, lovely waitress. Yes I would go there again for a pre theatre meal. Very efficient service and very pleasant experience
perfect , very friendly, it was my daughter's birthday, they were very kind and put a candle on cake for her. And the food... delicious.
Ein sehr schönes Restaurant, gute Essen, schöne Auswahl und sehr guter Service. Ideal als Startpunkt für einen Musicalabend. Da kommen wir gerne wieder, war ein schöner Abend.

Had a fabulous family meal before our show. Good food and service was excellent. We all had something different and all to. High standard. Would recommend.
Fanatic food and great service. I’ve dined here a few times and always impressed with every dish arriving at our table. I’ve eaten at Michelin star restaurants and this beats many of them in my view.
Short staff meant too long a wait. Also very small portions for price. Service ok but could see that there were only 2 people cooking. Was tight to make theatre.
Service was excellent, food was delicious, atmosphere warm and friendly. The food portions are nice and generous too. The only negative - wine a little expensive.
Delicious food, fantastic service and fabulous wine! Would highly recommend! We sat at a table by one of the large glass windows with an open street view which was fun
Sauce is a bit too salty. Salmon’s a bit over cooked and chicken breast is a tad bit too dry. Service is impeccable though. Overall okay experience.
Very stodgy heavy food Lasagna over cooked and not hot. Risotto very heavy. The only good part was the wines and service too quick between courses
Nice Staff, good food, we got severed quickly which was important as we eat here pre-theatre and really enjoyed our meal. Overall a very pleasant experience. Thank you!
Excellent all round. Given the prime location in Aldwych, it was very impressive for the quality of food, value and the friendliness and efficiency of all staff.
Fantastic food, atmosphere, staff and service - would highly recommend. The menu choice was excellent and my husband said he had never tasted chicken so tender before.
Quiet and nice restaurant.. Food is good.. after a night out with friends .. good price .. just need more food options.. but otherwise is good ..
Fantastic food, service, timing and price. Great location and atomoaphere. Very chiascuro mood and good wine too! Upstairs and downstairs seating. Nice Christmas decorations. A+ 👌
Very tasty food as ever, especially the pasta and squid. Took a while to get a menu and a drink as it was a busy night.
this is a great place - super restaurant staff who are very smiley and helpful and the food is great. Superb wine list too and reasonably priced. you should book!
