We had to wait a while for our table even though we had booked it! Once seated the food and service were good and we enjoyed our evening.
Warm welcome, attentive but not obtrusive service and excellent food. Nice buzzy atmosphere and reasonable prices for the West End. Thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant.
Visited this restaurant with a friend from work an early Tuesday evening. The food was well-prepared and flavoursome if a bit overpriced. Service was friendly and efficient. Would I go again? With so many more places to try in London, possibly not.
Excellent service. Delicious pre theatre meal. Small portions but perfect for 6pm. Wine list great and also carafe sizes handy when in a rush. Knowledgable staff. Good to get away from the chains around Covent Garden. Recommend.
Visited this restaurant with friends and once again the service was really good and the food extremely well prepared. It is great to find somewhere with a distinctive unique style rather than a faceless chain.
One of our favourite restaurants. Friendly, warm, knowledgeable staff; excellent but affordable wine list (and you will not believe what they can serve by the glass); lovely dining room; bloody amazing food. I've been many, many times and I'm sure you will love it too.
Warm, attentive and friendly service, coupled with perfectly cooked, extremely tasty, and beautifully presented food. I visited with my vegetarian daughter and very hungry, post work son and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Have visited this restaurant several times now and have always enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Very conveniently located too for the theatre. Will be returning again soon.
The pleasant atmosphere and good food is completed by an excellent service. This time I tried the pre-concert dinner. The accompanying sauvignon blanc fitted very well.It certainly is worth a visit.
Good service, friendly staff, good place to take clients for a relaxing lunch. We were rather let down by the very unchocolatey chocolate pot served with pear sorbet rather than strawberries as advertised.
Lovely staff and decor so a nice welcome. Delicious breads to start followed by a mushroom gnocchi dish very appreciated by vegetarian. Linguine vongole also very tasty. Shared pineapple carpaccio which was a lovely refreshing end.
Visited this restaurant again for a pre-theatre dinner. Once again the service was attentive but not intrusive. More importantly the food was beautifully prepared. this is definitely a cut above other restaurants in the area and worth paying a little extra to have your food freshly prepared.
Great food and friendly service. Quite busy with pre theatre crowd on a Monday night. Pineapple dessert particularly good! Nicely decor and good wine list.
A modern Italian - no Chianti flasks and cheesy mandolin music here. So if your tastes run along the lines of stuffed mushrooms and spaghetti "Bolognese" then you could be disappointed. However, if you like a little adventure, skillful use of ingredients and an interesting, reasonably priced (for London) wine-list, you could do far worse than pay Four to Eight a visit.
Lovely food in this restaurant tucked away from the main road. Great forcpre or post theatre dinner. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced for the quality of food.
Visited this restaurant with friends and once again the service was really good and the food extremely well prepared. It is great to find somewhere with a distinctive unique style rather than a faceless chain.
Food good but very noisy room - difficult to hear across the table The wine menu lists Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc but this has been substituted by the standard Sauvignon Blanc - a very different wine (which retails at 25-30% less) without any mention - not even when ordered. Very misleading and arguably illegal
Excellent food, service and ambience. Will definitely go again. I don't think I need to say more. 9 words more than expresses my pleasure. Giulhhnbv
This is an excellent restaurant, very friendly and with delicious, innovative food. At the lunchtime I ate there it was strangely empty, but deserves to be fully occupied all the time. It's a gem.
Excellent restaurant for a pre or post theatre meal. And I would imagine also excellent for lunch. Modern Italian food at its best. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service. We were not rushed and so had time to enjoy 3 courses which were all freshly made. Serving staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgable.
This was my second visit to Four to Eight, both times I had pasta and both times it has been outstanding. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Great authentic Italian pasta washed down with some really good prosecco, I highly recommend it!
This nice and cosy restaurant offers some good italian dishes, very convenient either for pre - theatre or after - theatre dining . open until late
Overall it's an okay restaurant. Good service, helpful staff, average atmosphere, good food but small portions. Lovely neighborhood, but there may be better options around.
Great food, drink, service and location. We ate there before a show, had a pre-theatre set meal and was a great find. Definitely recommend it.
We arrived at 5.30pm for dinner before our theatre trip. We waited 50min before our starter arrived, & another 30min for the mains. We could see the waitress was stressed, as obviously there was a problem in the kitchen. She explained that 100 diners had arrived at once for the pre theatre rush. A restaurant that is close to so many theatres and that has tables for more than a 100, should know how to serve them efficiently. Once the food arrived, it was ok, but not much better than that. We will not be returning.
The service and food were excellent, and despite being busy, we did not have to wait long which was excellent, because we were off to see a show. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Second time there, both superb.
Excellent imaginative menu and pleasant service. We particularly enjoyed the delicious calves liver cooked to perfection andthedessert of chocolate mousse with Jerusalem artichokes was a winner!
A very smart restaurant with attentive staff. The meal was very tasty and well presented. There is also a very good selection of wines. Good value for money.
Well our review will probably match previous reviews cannot fault the food or staff but portions as many have said on the small side. Linda.
God mad og hyggelig stemning. God service som hjalp, med alt fra menu beskrivelse til transport hjem 😊 kan kun anbefale det til andre 😊
Great food as always, the set menu is one of the best in London. Service was a bit adhoc this time which was a shame but would still go back again for the delicious menu.
Amazing service and fantastic food! I don't have anything negative to say, and would recommend this restaurant to everyone. If you love Italian food, this is definitely the place to go.
We had very delicious, good quality food with nice portion sizes. The service was fairly good; a little slow on the drinks but everything else was quick and the servers were attentive. The atmosphere is really nice and modern, too. We sat downstairs where it was quiet and a bit more spacious. Fantastic experience and I would recommend.
Fantastic service and authentic Italian food with a huge selection of excellent wines. Staff were very welcoming and once we had ordered our food, the dishes came quickly. Will go again.
Always wary of tourist area restaurants as they dont always deliver. However this was recommended to us and it was a great experience. Excellent service and really great food. Will definately be returning.
This restaurant offers very good service. Wine which waiter recommended was very good and reasonably priced. Food was rather uninspiring and poor value for money. I don't think we will return to this restaurant any time soon. There are better choices around Covent Garden.
Great food, pleasant, helpful staff. Surprisingly quiet for a Sunday lunchtime in the tourist season - perhaps the secret hasn't got out yet! Going again on Friday evening - hope it's as good as last time!
The food was excellent, an interesting twist on standard Italian favourites, and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend.
Pleasant environment, good service and excellent food. We all enjoyed the Four to Eight experience in the heart of Covent Garden. Very good wine list - we chose a magnificent Italian white. Thanks, Four to Eight.
Third time I have eater at the restaurant and each time it has been quite outstanding. It has certainly become my go to place in London.
Went for evening meal in June. Good attentive service, very good food, duck Ravi and cheesecake were particularly good and best Novaracella olives we've had. Lacks a little atmosphere but decor is great.
Lovely food but the service was lacking, partly I think because they were busy and also a lack of training on the part of the staff. They didn't bring out one of our extras and still didn't bring it out when we enquiried about this. I am vegetarian & our waitress was trying to convince me that certain items on the menu were veggie even though there was no (v) next to them whereas other items were clearly denoted as vegetarian on the menu. I don't think that some meat eaters understand that some cheeses for example are not necessarily vegetarian! At the end of the day if a dish was veggie it would have had a (v) next to it as other dishes did. Also the choice for veggies wasn't great and I was initially told that I couldn't have the veggie main dish off the set menu but I didn't like the veggie main dish in the main menu. They did concede this point in the end though. Also the set menu had no veggie option as a starter That saidi I would still go back since the food was very tasty and I liked the restaurant itself. I will probably just check their menu before I book next to ensure there is something on the menu I like / can eat.
Food very tasty, but portions a bit on the small side. Staff very nice and a very good atmosphere! Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others!
Lovely restaurant next door to The Duchess Theatre, opposite The Apollo and just around the corner to The Lyceum, such a great location. I had the crispy pigs head to start followed by crab linguine and then a selection of cheeses, everything was very tasty and served by friendly and helpful staff. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.
Very good food in an attractively designed restaurant slightly away from the more touristy heart of Covent Garden. Helpful staff and nice ambience. Will be back.
As always, a very warm welcome. Our guests were hugely impressed with the food and atmosphere; we treated ourselves to a wonderfully fresh white wine (the list is varied and interesting) to match the octopus starter. The lamb neck was beautifully tender and succulent. We will all be returning!
Always enjoy coming here. The staff are friendly and attentive without overdoing it They accommodate every wish Would happily recommend it to anyone Great opening times too.
The service was excellent but I was not terribly impressed by the food. I had the vegetarian option, which was fine but I thought the starters were below par for an Italian restaurant.
Smart decor, very good service from staff who know the menu and come across as helpful and cheerful, terrific menu and gorgeous food - the stone bass with buttery sauce and salsify was amazing and it has the variety of a pasta and a fish dish of the day. My friend's lamb fillet was very tasty and tender too.
