Excellent food and service the staff were all polite and was excellent value for money would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for good food at a good price
Today we had good food and surroundings, service was good we did not have to wait long for a table or at the carvery. Unfortunately table one was in a very cold part of the room.
The food was lovely, polite staff and a nice atmosphere for the whole family. Very reasonable prices on the wine list too. All round good experince
Have visited the Punchbowl several times to enjoy the great Aga carvery with very tasty meats and many vegetables for selection. Friendly service . Lovely old building with lots of character
Great food, excellent choice of meats, plenty of vegetables and wonderful desserts. Nice and friendly atmosphere, lovely building. Going to visit again next Sunday with other family members.
Carvery was excellent as always - lovely varied selection of meat and vegetables - and service is very friendly. Would definitely recommend. Booking needed at weekends.
Gorgeous place , amazing food and lovely staff . Would definitely recommend and will be returning again. Best carvery I have ever had tastes like a home cooked meal was delish
Had the 2 course special, carvery was so tasty and lovely cherry bakewell desert which was served in a dish tasted like a trifle yummy 😀highly recommend
Nicest carvery we'very had in a long time and no que to get to the food. My only criticism would be that it was our first time at the Punch Bowl and the system of when to pay, go for carvery or alternative menu information was not given.
Absolutely fantastic worth every penny we can't wait to go again! Everything is fresh and the staff can't do enough for you. Not t too busy either for a sunday
Carvery was exceptional and staff were all polite. Location and atmosphere were also great. One star off due to the tables being quite a tight fit where we were sitting. Other guests had to move for some of us to get in and out of the table which isn't ideal when having to get up to walk to the carvery part. This wouldn't stop me going back though as overall everything was good.
Had a lovely Sunday Cauvery the food was excellent and so was the service. Great value for money. Will definitely be going back sometime soon
Lovely food, area we sat was a little cold. Great price for a carvery. Puddings were delicious and service very pleasant. Will definitely return in the future.
We booked a table for our Christmas lunch, we had a great table opposite the bar, so not far to walk for a top up. Enjoyed the carvery, lovely helpful, happy staff. Will definitely come back!
We had a fantastic meal, as ever. This is one of our favourite places to eat. The Sunday Carvery offers great value for money and always offers a good choice of meats
Excellent carvery - cant fault the amount or the quality of the meat and vegetable selection. My only comment would be that the restaurant lacked atmosphere.
Minor criticism in that our table for 9 was 2 round tables pushed together right at the back of the restaurant. However, it was the Saturday before Christmas & they were busy.
Initially there was a mix up in table reservations - this was sorted to our satisfaction. The night went vert well - the highlight is always the carvery - nothing comes near to compare. A very nice evening as usual at the punch Bowl.
We had a very enjoyable evening. The Punchbowl has a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. We had the carvery meal which was delicious and on this occasion the first course or the dessert was free. We shall definitely go again.
Our first visit. It lived up to expectations. Sunday carvery was tasty with good choice of veg. Lovely pub with friendly well organised staff. Will return!
Lovely old building with fabulous food and very helpful staff just remember to duck if you are tall as the beams can give you a nasty clout
Excellent carvery, good food and plenty of it! What more can you ask for?
First visit, expected more, whether it was too near Christmas not sure. Very chaotic, carvery meats overcooked and not much given. Willing to try again!
Excellent service superb carvery in beautiful surroundings. A hidden gem. Could not fault at all. would have no problems at all recommending Ye olde punch bowl.
Food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful but we had a long wait for our dessert. To be fair, it was very busy (especially so near to Christmas) and they had a party of 120 arrive but think our dessert had gone astray. We chased it up and it was delivered quickly with a smile and an apology. It was certainly worth waiting for. We hope to return soon.
Firstly there was no draught ale - on a Sunday! one of the pubs key USP is the range and quality of beer on offer, but to have none is unacceptable. Service was poor, the two bar staff were overwhelmed and clearly inexperienced, they couldn't cope with the number of people and it took 20 mins just to pay the bill, they were also quite sarcastic. The food was good and our previous visit was very pleasant, so I hope its a one off but I won't be recommending it again.
Delicious food as always, wide selection of lovely vegetables to choose from but missed the Swede and Carrot mash that does not seem to be served at Christmas. Service was top class.
Great food, great choice and great value for money. My only small criticism would be that the table service in cleaning away the plates etc when we had finished was a bit slow, but as they seemed low on staff this can be excused. Everything otherwise was spot on and all of us really enjoyed it, I highly recommend this place for the best carvery. 5 stars..
Great food good price and excellent service, very busy and that is always a good sign. We will be returning again soon. Thank you punchbowl inn.
Lovely Sunday carvery. Fresh vegetables and tasty gravy. Christmas decorations were welcoming. Good value for money. A little cold at first as seated by the door but it warmed up.
Amazing food, staff we're very attentive as it was our fathers 60th birthday. Brilliant atmosphere with the music in the background. Everyone had emptied their plates and some of the guests who had never been here before said they will definitely be coming back.
Cosy warm atmosphere with friendly staff and amazing food. Open fire was great when you just walked in from the cold. Lovely evening had there
Lovely setting, food slightly disappointing, not hot enougn for me and not a great selection of vegetables, which seemed strange as I have paid less for more vegetables.
This was one of the best pubs i have been to have a meal and will recommend to my friends, thank you and well done.
In my opinion this is as good as a carvery gets. The food was hot and well presented. Friendly attentive staff , You really can't ask any more for a nice Sunday lunch,
Restaurant not busy but staff seemed focused elsewhere & inattentive; failed to provide menus on several occasions so missed out on dessert order and tip.
Wonderful place and food was delicious will be returning soon staff we're friendly and the carver was very generous on the portions absolutely loved dining here
So easy to use and very reliable. No need to show email to confirm. Will definetly use this website again & will defiantly recommend to others
It was abit cold where we was sat. Food was nice & staff were pleasant. It did take 3 people to make coffees & bcoz some were liquer coffees they couldn't remember which was which. Would go again when weather gets better so we won't be so cold.
From booking then arrival though to departure was effortless with a great meal too with as much as you like, followed by a lovely pudding to, will definitely come again and again.
Good food but not hot although first I the que at 12.00 ok for gravy lovers.service good but no help with menu if you wanted starters.
Good value, but dim lighting couldnt see what i was eating plus smoke from woodburner offputting. would definitely go again though, good food and plenty of it.
Food was great - you can never beat a good carvery! chef was very friendly when carving the meat. Disco was an added bonus - overall a great place for a Christmas night out with friends at a price which is great value for money, not hesitation with going back.
Lovely place , great setting and food was excellent lots of good choices on carvery and good value, the baileys white chocolate cheesecake was fantastic, staff friendly.
Not impressed with the overall service, well there wasnt really any. The food was mediocre and while we were eating our food we asked 1 of the well i cant call him a waiter as he didnt really wait on the table, if he could get us a bottle of wine, the reply was you have to get it from the bar if i do it for you i will have to do it for everyone. So none of us were impressed. We will not return
Great position with lovely gardens & outdoor lounge. Ideal for pre dinner drinks or after dinner coffee. Service great and friendly and the food kept a veggi, meatlovers and both small and large appetites happy
Cannot fault the food, however service needs to be improved, no one to greet us upon arrival, waitresses stood around talking when tables needed to be cleared and the bill was calculated incorrectly 3 times, good job we checked it. Could do with a good mature manager instead of kids.
The carvery meats were very nice, and there was a reasonable choice of vegetables. The pub interior is pleasant and is located in lovely surroundings.
Food good and staff friendly. Let down slightly by the table not being as clean as expected for 1st sitting of the day. It would visit again as hopefully this was a one off problem.
The gravy was too runny for our liking and the roast potatoes & parsnips needed crisping but other than that, another lovely Sunday carvery. Would recommend it!
