Tables were too close together, not much room to move. Plates were cold & didn’t think much of the meal. My cheesecake was soggy should be more firmer.
Lovely carvery and reasonably priced . Open fire as we entered set the aymosphere well.Staff were very helpful. Gorgeous chocolate orange bread and butter pudding was too tempting to miss.
On this occasion there was nobody to receive our party of four and another party for quite a few minutes. The lady behind the bar was struggling, and the usual cheerful young man behind the carvery was missing. I point out that in all our previous visits this has not happened. As ever the food was delicious and great value for money. We shall certainly return!
When we read reviews our hopes were very high.. However we have ate at many better carveryies.. The service is very bombastic.. With a take it or leave it attitude
Excellent service and food. Table ready when we arrived. Carvery was amazing. Drinks great plenty of choice. Great value for money. Not too busy as it was January
The food was lovely, the service was good, the only reason I havn't given a six was that when we entered there was no-one at the desk and we didn't know where our booked table was.
Friendly welcome good food value for money good selection of fresh vegetables comfortable the offer of more meat would be nice when having one type of meat instead of one slice. Asking for a piece of each makes it more value for money. I would return
Very nice and very reasonably priced ... staff were friendly too ... worth every penny although meat given wasnt as good quantity than what we had in previous visits but still lovely
We had an amazing carvery. The service was excellent. The staff were really well organised. The food was excellent, with good vegetarian options available, such as nut roast with the carvery and vegetarian gravy.
We Would have liked the option of mashed potatoes. Great choice of meat and generous sized portions. Good value for money. Enjoyed the deserts too
We went on a Sunday lunchtime for the carvery meal. The food was exceptional and the staff very attentive. Will definitely go there again .
Fantastic meal at the Punchbowl. We had the Aga carvery which was brilliant, meat so tasty and such a reasonable price in the daytime. Planning our next visit already 10/10
Visit with family and friends. Great carvery as always and don’t know how we managed to fit in a delicious dessert. Can’t wait to return
Lovely food but squeezed into a corner on a table for two, when other larger tables were available???? Why?? Place wasn’t busy & we have been several times before??
Excellent carvery. All food was cooked to perfection and being self service as well meant that the portion size can cater for any appetite. I will definitley be visiting again.
It would have been nice to be greeted at the door and shown to our table rather than struggle to find someone to help us. There was a long delay from the meat to the vegetables - hotter plates would have helped. Cauliflower cheese left much to be desired. Apart from this we enjoyed our meal. Thank you.
What a lovely lunchtime experience, log fire, good food, very pleasant staff and a wonderful cosy establishment. Good parking too! Will definitely return and will also recommend to friends and family.
Food superb service and staff excellent as always. Was very quiet when we ate there but the food was fresh the aga carvery is fantastic. My only change would be home made roasters instead of frozen that’s a small picky point. Everything else was lovely
The Punchbowl is renowned for its carvery and it did not let us down. Great service, and although busy we had no unnecessary waiting, complete with a suitable festive ambiance
Just had an 80th Birthday party for 22 people, and although they were extremely busy, we were looked after as though we were the only ones there. Couldn't fault, service, quality or value for money, everybody was very impressed and enjoyed their meal and the general friendliness of the place.
The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and professional, It was our first visit and we can’t wait to return in the new year. I would recommend to anyone
full of admiration at how well everything was organised. First class food and service ,excelent value for money.would recommend to everyone .Perfect to celebrate a birthday as l was doing.
Best carvery I've had in a long time ,, beautiful restaurant & very friendly staff,, only criticism is a little cramped in but otherwise great
Really friendly and helpful restaurant. Food was good and it was nicely furnished. Not much of a selection for tables of two but was a busy Xmas weekend
Absolutely fantastic carvery with a large selection of meats and vegetables. Staff all very attentive and friendly. A hidden gem - I will definitely be visiting more regularly.
Great food staff were just a bit disorganised and not really well informed about food choices. Christmas three course meal and coffee good value for money
A very good meal from the carvery for 4 people. Just as good as our last visit . We travelled over from Newcastle under Lyme and it was well worth it. Many thanks. We will be back.
Great food. Good service. Staff very friendley, will go again. In the very near future , all of our friends enjoyed. Thanks to all Maddy
A very pleasant experience. Carvery was excellent . Helpful and speedy service. Value for money. We would recommend to anyone. We will be back again
Been for Sunday lunch carvery several times and never been disappointed. Good food, pleasant staff and wonderful views. Certainly recommend it for sunday lunch as excellent choice of meats and veg.
Selection of meats was very good including Lamb which is very unusual.Plenty of vegetables and help yourself.Very well priced and reasonable.Tables clean.Staff very helpful. Will return.
Excellent food, excellent service. Would recommend to anyone. Went for the carvery on a Saturday lunchtime, good choice of food and well prepared. Excellent value
The Carvery had lovely tender juicy meat, and the roast potatoes were particularly tasty and crisp on the outside. The only problem was Christmas decorations attached to already low beams further reduced the headroom.
had an absolutely fabulous meal which was one of the best carveryies I've ever had .The staff were very polite and friendly especially Kerry who made us feel very welcome .Would recommend this to all my friends.
Lovely setting in the country. We had a carvery lunch in the restaurant which was really good choice of four meats and plenty of vegetables all piping hot. Staff very charming and attentive. Would certainly pay them another visit. Very reasonably priced.
Excellent food and a choice of 5 meats at the carvery. The house red wine was of good quality. Although the wine glasses on the table were small much to my husbands amusement.
Really great atmosphere, food was delicious! Only reason I gave a 4 was because we were told what time we had to leave by before we were even seated. Many thanks.
The food was excellent, selection of drinks caters for all preferences. All the staff are friendly, we would highly recommend you pop by and see for yourself!
It was our first visit and we were really pleased with the surroundings, food, price and service. We've told lots of friends about the whole experience.
Roaring log fire, wonderful cosy atmosphere , superb food and all on a midweek lunchtime. The staff were really friendly and gave us ( my cousin and her 93 year old father) a table opposite the fire. You couldn't ask for more and I highly recommend this fantastic place.
the staff were very friendly and there was a good choice of food on the carvery. I would come here again and recommend this to friends and family
This a lovely busy pub, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient. The carvery is tasty and good value for money. Not local for me but visit about 5 times a year.
Food was great , but to be honest we went to see maetloaf tribute act and that's what i thought i had booked , misleading web site , ps I thought i had booked it wrong , but there where a lot of other folk who had been mislead needless to say we did not get to see the tribute act
Yet another lovely meal there, it's such a nice treat. The look on my aunts face as she is eating her meal is one of sheer ecstasy.
The food here is amazing, always fresh, always wholesome and put that with a good pint, what more can you ask for?
lovely meal, staff very friendly food good. Will certainly visit again and will try the carvery which looked amazing. Very cosy atmosphere and amazing open fire which smelled fabulous when we walked in.
Fantastic! Will definitely be returning:) cavery and huge pudding was enjoyed by all of the family. Worth paying a bit extra for. A lovely birthday outing.
Really tasty Sunday carvery. All the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend this place We will be returning soon Great value for your money
Lovely food, definitely going again. Great value for money, will recommend to friends and family
Excellent choice and the carvery meats were juicy and delicious. The pub is VERY warm with a combination of the Aga, heat lamps over the carvery and an open fire! Dress accordingly!!
