Another great meal at viva Mexico. The staff are charming and very inviting. If you love Mexican food this is the place to go. It all tastes so fresh and vibrant!

Great authentic Mexican food with generous servings. The staff was very friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. Make sure to book first as it can get pretty crowded. Would definitely go back!

It was fine overall, food was ok,but service was not great. Waitresses were not very nice. Not once came to check how everything was for us.

Lovely dinner, we have been fairly regularly after discovering the restaurant last year. Back again for my birthday after a few months away and the food was amazing and service fantastic as always.

Restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived but that didn't affect the service at all. As always the food was excellent. Will be back soon.

Excellent food. Simply amazing. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. The service is quick and displayed beautifully. On our first visit I got the fajitas that were just out of this world. Highly recommend!

Setvice was a wee bit slow to start with, but they were ridiculously busy. After we had ordered though, everything was really l great - both service and food. The Margarita's were yummy, as was chimichanga and enchilada a. The Mexicanas liquor coffee was a wee bit disappointing, but overall a great night. I would go back, for sure

The food was nice, a little overpriced for what it is though. The chicken in the Chimichanga was overdone and very dry. The nacho starter was good but have had better. Style of restaurant and atmosphere was great though and redeemed some of the experience.

Great Mexican food at reasonable prices! Great sangria pitchers too! Helpful and friendly waiting staff. Would definitely be back for Mexican feast in the future

Great food. No question there but I was let down by wanting go see the dessert menu that nobody seemed to want to show me. Then I was asked if I was finished with my wine,,, yes I was ,,, with the bottle not what was still left in my glass, it was whipped away before I could say anything. It was busy yes but for me attention to detail happens when quiet or busy, sorry.

We didn't like the food. It was like something an average home cook would do using pre prepared stuff. Our daughter says 'the food was like poop :(', but mine wasn't that bad.

We had a lovely meal at Viva Mexico. Food was excellent, service was unobtrusive but very efficient. We needed to be out within an hour and managed that with ease.

All food top notch. Service excellent. Mexican atmosphere. Colourful and authentic. Delicious Cuba libres, excellent calamari which were not at all rubbery. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.

Both food and service were excellent. This is a bustling restaurant with a lovely ambience set in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. Used to eat there regularly as a student and will definitely not leave it so long to return. Very highly recommended.

We had a party of 12, and were seated promptly and orders taken. Unfortunately the chef got one of the dishes wrong, but was rectified very quickly. Nice environment and tasty food.

This Restaurant was AMAZING!!!! Some of the best food we have had so far in Edinburgh.. Me and my girlfriend both rate the food easily 10/10. The Nachos starter was worth easy £15 but was only around £6..

Easy online reservation, it was the first time I tried Quandoo. Viva Mexico had great service, even better food...its always one of our favourites! Couldn't email the reservation though?

The good was amazing, very tasty. The cocktails were beautiful especially the sangria! The service was very good. We visited on a Tuesday night and soo glad I had booked, it was packed! Would definitely return if we went back to Edinburgh!

Best Mexican restaurant in town by far. Have been going there since 1990. Watch out for the Margaritas, they sneak up on you. Bon appetite!

My table was waiting for me and the waiting staff were excelle t and attentive. A really good lunch and excellent value. Three people eating two courses with a drink for £35 all in. I would highly recommend Viva Mexico to anyone.

This restaurants is exactly as all the reviews say excellent service and excellent food. The Fajitas are very well presented and tasty together with great salsa.

Lovely small restaurant best to book and ask to sit downstairs. Food portions are huge and the food is tasty. Worth a visit, I will return.

Got seated straight away but waited forever for our drinks to arrive. Starter arrived first. Food was ok but not very tasty. Easnt approsched at any point and asked if we wanted to order more drinks. We had to stop the waitress every time and instigate and order. Finished main and never approached by staff again. Not asked if we wanted desserts or coffees etc. Won't be going back.

We have been here several times now and always enjoy it. This time we took a couple that had never been and they also really enjoyed it
