This restaurant exceeded our expectations as it is definitely not your average Indian restaurant. Right from the moment you set foot into the restaurant your unique fine dining experience begins. The decor is breathtaking, the food is amazing the service is impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and be prepared to be waited on hand and food especially if your waiter is Abdul !. Thank you to everyone at Varanasi for making my daughters birthday so special as you all made her feel that way too.

The atmosphere and interior is great but the food isn't worth what you pay. The waiter was 'over friendly' and didn't seem to understand the concept of personal space.

Service was poor and the crowd was rowdy upstairs. Ruined a very expensive night out. The waiters were forgetful and we had to deal with poor service throughout. No one came to take our starters order after giving us the menu.

Great atmosphere and decor. Some good food although some items on the menu especially the curry’s are mediocre and standard, much better Indian cuisine elsewhere.

This is the third time I went Varanasi and I’m not impressed at all with their service. When we gave feedback to one of the waiters he was extremely rude. Would never step a foot in there again!

The place itself is stunning, the service was good, however the food was disappointing. I am not a fussy eater, but the starter tasted of detergent. it had the same smell as the warm towels we were given to wipe our hands at the end. They did kindly replace my starter with another, along with a friends, but normally the starters are the best part of the meal, it wasn't the case here. In fairness the mains were quite nice. When it came to the bill, they gave us our second round of drinks for free, but forgot to deduct the deposit we had paid. We were still happy to pay the service charge, as the waiters were good, but the kitchen need to sort out their prep areas - as the food tasted as if it has been detergent washed! for that reason unfortunately I wouldn't go there again. Such a shame because its such an impressive venue.

Overpriced and small portions. Waiters try too hard to be friendly and it becomes weird and overbearing because they’re constantly on your case all the time

Amazing fooood.. Loved the dessert food variety was brilliant and the presentation was perfect. My aunt and I loved it and will be going again soon.

I dined her last night we were a table of 2. This restaurant set on 3 floors beyond beautiful and elegant. We received a warm welcome. Food so tasty and delicious, flavours and spices just right i would describe food as outstanding, the best in birmingham. Service is great very proffesional, friendly and courteous. Great location, i thoroughly enjoyed my evening here we will be back again and will be sure to reccomend

Recently booked to go to Varanasi for my son's graduation. Really pleasant atmosphere. Food was really good and well presented. Faz was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us many suggestions. He put our mind at ease and we felt very comfortable. The decor was very grand and very picturesque. Thank you very much Faz for your hospitality. Will definitely be coming again :)

Found the service rushed considering the restaurant wasn't busy and had up to 3 waiters serving per table. Menus could be much easier to read especially if you are sitting in a dimmer part of the restaurant. Other than that, great friendly welcoming staff and flavoursome fine dining authentic Indian cuisine in an incredible setting make this the perfect place for a special occasion.

Extortionate pricing with minute quantities of food. Charge for things with are outrageous such as water (only serve bottled water). Charge for poppadoms and chutneys seperately!

Really nicel looking restaurant. The service was great and the food was reslly nice. Our waiter Josh was great, really attentive and knowledgeable about the food and where ingredients originated from. All in all a good night

The decor and surroundings were absolutely amazing! On arrival we were showed to the bar area, it was unbelievable on the wide range of drinks that were available. Excellent food and terrific staff, we will be visiting again!

very nice atmosphere and food. However, waiters appeared stressed and grumpy and did not look or behave friendly at all. I have not seen a single smile on their faces for the whole night. I ordered a draught beer which was not cold as expected. These issues really needs attention because even though the place is nice, you definitely lose customers over this attitude.
