first visit to the travellers rest great Sunday roast will definitely return

TR have just been taking over with a new team . The portion sizes apart from the actual meat (which was fine ) have shrunk but prices has risen . Not enough veg or potatoes. We had two small roast pots and a small new potatoe cut in half . All meats are the same price normally beef would be the more expensive but the chicken was the same price

Such a warm welcome from Tracey. Thanks for accommodating our food requests. So refreshing and easy, not having to make a fuss. The food was all freshly made and so delicious. Friendly Staff and excellent service. My Roast potatoes were slightly burnt and dry which was a shame because the rest of the meal was beautifully cooked. I will certainly be going back again very soon .

Travellers Rest is our regular go-to place for a Sunday Lunch. the food is always exceptional, service excellent, and the courteousness of the staff is a rare find. I cannot fault them and am happy to recommend this amazing pub for a good traditional meal. One of the staff is expecting a baby in 2 weeks, and we wish her all the very best. Such a nice young lady :)

Went for Sunday lunch and was amazing, brilliant service as well and great staff.

The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. We waited about an hour for the food to arrive, and there weren't many people in. The food was very nice, however, it is very expensive for what you get (fish & chips - £14.00!). I had macaroni cheese, which is supposed to be a side dish, but I had it for a main course. It was not cheesy at all, it needed a lot more and it was quite runny. That said, I did enjoy it. I had peas to go with it and chips. The chips were really lovely, and a good amount of peas too, though £1.00 for them as an "extra" was rather a lot I thought. I didn't have a dessert as they were so expensive. If they had been £5.00 I would have had one, but not for £7.00.
