Fun and buzzy evening. Super busy. Great food as always
Book for lunch, it was busy food took awhile to come, it was worth the wait. I can highly recommend baked camembert, comes with bread and pickle. Thai fish curry, comes with king prawn, mussels, squid & fish, rice. They use local suppliers. Great service, friendly staff.
A couple of rude staff long wait for food with no explanation when we asked we were told it was busy and there was a wait but people who came in after us were being served. Two lady’s were served and gone before we even had our food they complained as they were overcharged. Food was not up to normal standard and communication was terrible. But on the upside we spoke to a lovely waitress called Charlie and she was great and couldn’t apologise enough. More staff like Charlie would be good There’s no excuse for rudeness
Excellent food and great service. Always such a fantastic place to have a meal!
Always amazing! we love coming here for the food and the service!
Excellent as usual. It never fails to please us all. Love the Hake.
Good selection of food and excellent, attentive service as always
Delicious food as always, served by friendly staff. Lovely time had by all
Roast was poor. Server seemed unhappy. Had a good experience here in the summer drinking cocktails, but the roast I had on a Sunday in the winter was really poor. Wouldn't recommend now
Had an all day breakfast with a glass of wine. Great. Ha ha
Lovely staff & dog friendly Would highly recommend Great atmosphere
We had breakfast here with friends. There was a huge choice on the menu and our food was delicious. Friendly staff and the place was full by the time we left. We weren’t rushed out of our table though which was the perfect start to a Saturday.
Really lovely place! Food, atmosphere, staff…everything was fantastic! We went when they had live music and it was such a nice touch.
Great food, generous portions and a friendly team working there.
Great food and excellent service from Isobel. All in all a lovely experience we will be back
Was lovely food and staff were amazing. Highly recommend here
Didn't seem good value, bit of battered cod in a bun, with a few chips £19. Also the serving guy was very brusque, think he needs more training with public, or stay back of house. Not the dining experience i was hoping for, doubt I'll be back, mind you they were packed so some people were enjoying it?!
Fantastic evening- everything perfect could not have been better 👍👍👍
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, lovely attentive staff. Our first visit but we will be back!
Food was delicious Lovely atmosphere Staff really attentive but not in your face Lovely experience altogether
Wouldn’t come again, the drinks was not what I thought they would be, didn’t taste like they was meant to
Been to tn1 a fair few times now , food was lovely no complaints there , I felt the service was poor ! Asked for water that never came ! Had to ask another waiter . Never offered dessert of coffee or any other drinks ! Not attentive at all
Had a lovely breakfast with my daughter as an end of tern treat. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.
Had a lovely meal there Saturday lunchtime, it was very busy. Food arrived in good time, the Christmas baked Cambert was very nice. Lamb chops for main was amazing would highly recommend. service was as always very good, the team are so friendly.
Quick to take order. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. Muscles were scrumptious. Rest of party enjoyed their fish and chips. All served on hot plates, deep joy. One large party close by made it a bit difficult to hear conversation but it quietened down a bit once they all got their food! Would recommend and looking forward to next visit.
As soon as we’d paid we were asked to leave. I know it’s a Saturday in the run up to Christmas but we’d booked a table and had it for little over an hour.
Food, as usual, was excellent, all 6 of us agreed on that. Service is very good, our server did get one of our meals mixed up with another order so it was late, but that has never happened to me in there before, and he did admit his mistake & apologise. It’s sometimes a bit chilly in there in winter, but I wore a jumper this time & it was fine, it was also busy, so that prob helped. The prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year, £6 for a portion of green beans, £9 for a pudding, £9 for a glass of house red, but I suppose that is prob in line with most other restaurants in the current economic climate! It’s just expensive to eat out now, so I suppose, sadly, we all go less often. But overall it an excellent place to visit.
Busy night, with many parties, created good atmosphere, but didn’t affect service levels.
Lovely food. I'm a carnivore but I tried the meatless burger for lunch - delicious, followed by the Winter Crumble, equally delicious. It was very busy but the food arrived without too much of a wait. Have eaten there lots of times but always in the evening. Friendly staff, as usual. Attentive but without pestering. Can definitely recommend.
Always great quality food. Busy evening before Christmas with live guitarist. We had another great meal.
Everything was fantastic. The staff snd the food were exceptional. We would definitely visit again.
Excellent staff!! Very friendly and always happy to help brilliant atmosphere
Often visited for the lovely breakfasts but first time for lunch. The very varied menu was impressive for a small venue but the food was delicious and all seemed to have been freshly prepared and cooked. We’ll be back!
Smooth booking process, great service and great food. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
All amazing!!! The cherry on the cake ? They use paper lids on takeaway coffee cups, not plastic lids! What a lovely environmentally conscious family run business!
Divine burgers and friendly staff! I don’t eat out anywhere else anymore. Way better than the other local places!
Superb food and service as always at this restaurant. Thank you
overall a lovely meal out , quick and efficient service .
My food was luke warm as I had the roast the hottest park of my food was the cauliflower cheese .My husband's was hit as he had the steak.
Live Band was great but it was quite noisy and hard to talk.
Nice friendly staff but very slow service for lunch. Expensive too
Liked the layout of restaurant Food was delicious Waitress was friendly and helpful Food and drink was served quickly
We were particularly impressed with the observant and helpful staff. We had a three year old eith us, and a one year old in a high chair. The waitress found space for the pushchair. Diring the meal she saw that we were having trouble with the one year old grabbing things off the table, and lack of space. She asked if we would like an additional table to join ours so we had more room. The food was delicious too. The only thing lacking was smaller cutlery for children.
The best roast in town. Buzzy atmosphere and a lovely team.
Great food nice lay out looking forward to going back again
Wonderful atmosphere, fabulous food and attentive staff. Very impressed and would highly recommend!

Great atmosphere and food. Always warm friendly and welcoming staff
Great food and very friendly service, will definitely return soon
Wonderful buzzy atmosphere, excellent service with cheerful staff and was impressed that the owner made the effort to go around the tables introducing himself. We shared a starter and both had burgers which were very good and of course an obligatory sticky toffee pudding to finish - all delicious! Long may independents like this thrive in Tunbridge Wells!
