Excellent food. However, menu was not what we were told.

Good food. Good choice of dishes. Very friendly and efficient staff. Will come back again. Highly recommended.

Booked Sunday lunch for 2 online. The bar area had a cozy log fire and a comfy sofa. There was a good atmosphere and the room had the Christmas decorations up. We had a very tasty 2 course lunch. Lovely food -good portions at a sensible price. The staff were very friendly and helpful serving everyone with a beaming smile. Nothing was too much trouble. We took our big Doberman in as it is dog friendly in the bar. We will definitely go again.

Really excellent lunch, from moment we arrived to moment we left. No wait, staff very attentive, food marvellous, lovely warm fire and great atmosphere, couldn’t fault it.

Meal was on the small size for me looked nice.

A firm favourite for lunch. The main room is cosy and as always beautifully decorated. Staff are a friendly and you are spoilt for choice on the menu.

Becoming quite a regular visitor. My brother who is a real foody and an excellent cook loves this place. Food is always first class as is the service. Now they are doing a smart version of soup and sandwich, at lunchtime, I may be here a lot more.

Wonderful atmospheric Yorkshire pub. We were a party of four and we received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Our Sunday lunch was delicious and we will recommend this delightful pub to all our friends. We will be back soon.😁😁

30 mins wait for starter and same for main course. Food nothing special, lamb all tough chunks. Burnt Yorkshire Puddings. Didn't stay for puddings. I'll stick with the Guy Fawkes a few minutes up the road.

Excellent as ever sat in the bar this time but still as good, we eat from the restaurant menu which was excellent, I could see the sandwiches being served and they looked enticing too so again another very pleasant and tasty experience

Georgeia was a delight and so were the other staff that served us - we had a lovely evening - had to wait quite a long time for our main course but as we are all family this wasnt an issue

Booked a table and were seated in the bar by the door which wasn't ideal because seating was drafty and too cramped. Table of casual drinkers should not have been allowed to place an extra chair in the passageway from the doorway into the bar area. My kept being bumped in the back.

A very convenient place to stop, just off the A1M

Table was in a crowded bar area. next to a pillar.Dogs were allowed and even encouraged ( doggie treats provided ) Starters and dessert were very good . Main course was a very ordinary Sunday lunch. Very friendly service
