Lovely small pub with large cozy marquee towards the rear. Food was lovely, great range of IPAs and Lager, and a lovely attentive staff. Couldn’t ask for more, unpretentious and great value food and drink.

Unfortunately there was a Christmas party on the night we chose to go for a meal, so it was very noisy and service was extremely slow. Food, as always, was lovely, although portions seemed smaller than usual too.

I asked for pork loin on the menu and got a pork chop which was hard dry and overcooked, covered in some kind of crumb. Not the best I’ve ever had. Our friends said their meal was OK not outstanding. My husband enjoyed his gammon egg and chips!

The separate restaurant area was great. We went to Comedy night. However outside gazebo area was freezing cold; would not return for Comedy night.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent What let our lunchtime experience down was where we were seated. I had requested a table for 4 in the dinning area. We were given a table in the bar area. The tub style seats were too low for the table and were very uncomfortable, our friends sat in the drafty bay window seats. There were people eating in the dinning area and several free tables, one of which could have been allocated to us.

Really long wait for starters. We had the roast and roast potatoes were lumpy and tasteless, as was the Yorkshire pudding. Disappointing as it is a lovely venue. Pil pil prawns and chicken wings were delicious!

An early meal for 4 as we were going to the Palace Theatre. We all enjoyed the food which there was plenty of, so had a carry out with the Korean Chicken that wasn’t eaten.

Love the choice on the menu, we had the ploughman’s and the mixed grill both were very good and large portions. Only criticism would be it was to cold, not somewhere I would stay for another drink.

Was celebrating my birthday with family, 7 of us. Unfortunately quiz night was on and we couldn't hear ourselves speak as the microphone was very loud. My risotto was like rice pudding. Would only visit again on Sunday when roast dinners are available. The whole party agreed with me.

The starter was lovely freshly made. The roast dinner was cold and re warmed from being made earlier. Definitely not freshly made the beef was inedible. Cold roast potatoes , cold Yorkshire's, cauliflower cheese that had no cheese it and was watery. So disappointing l, as we had heard good reviews. Very poor.

We had a lovely Father's Day lunch at The Why Not Inn. It was very busy, as expected, and therefore the service was a little slow but this was more than made up for with the quality of the starters and roast lunches and the generous portions we were given. We will definitely be back again.
