Excellent Service .menu choice good . decided on home made chicken & mushroom pie and chips ..sticky toffee pie for deserts . delish ! Went with friends they enjoyed .. well worth a visit
We had to wait 1hr for our dinner, but when it arrived it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was busy, but we had booked. Apologies were made when the meal came.
Excellent service and food great to have an open log fire burning in the bar. Dog friendly bar area attentive service. Food all freshly prepared ...
Wouldn't visit here again. Food tasty but not much of it for the price paid. Very cold as no heating on plus Landlord & Landlady very unfriendly! Only giving 2 points for food otherwise it would be 1
Great food. Served with a smile and friendly greeting. Nothing was to much trouble Good food and friendly pub. Will defo go again Landlord and colleagues very friendly Nice pub for an informal evening out Well done wheatsheaf.
Restaurant was not open when we got there. You need to update your app with the correct opening hours. Wasted journey and spoilt our daughters birthday dinner
Wine on the menu was not available, wrong fruit was put in a gin, a certain cider had ran out, no cream available for desserts, the pub was very cold and not pleasant whilst eating our meal
Very friendly welcome, cosy log fire. Excellent fish and chips. Unfortunately trade is down due to road closure, worth making the diversion. Will definitely return.
Landlord(?) seemed flustered. Dauphinoise potatoes not available (heard another table say the same thing happened on a previous visit). They were offerred mash or new pots.....so was there only one portion left? 45 mins later we find out. No. My wife hadn't been asked and was simply given new pots. As her choice was specifically for dauphinoise big disappointment. The girl serving very apologetic and quick to return with replacement chips but damage done. Beer quality and ambience fine but sadly unlikely to return. The restaurant area was not busy.
Excellent service and food. Highly recommended. Very friendly. Good access and parking. We will definitely go there again and recommend it to friends and family.
Overcharged on bill by £7.40 did not realise this until checking when i got home. Went in next day mid afternoon landlord rude no customer service skills. Offered £6 no apology reluctantly gave me another £1. Apparently prices on menu different to that on till (no excuse) would probably have gone back again as food not bad but not now due to his rudeness. Friends also over charged not sure how they got on. Will not recommend this pub.
Very welcoming and attentive staff, sweets were a little disappointing though. Gammon steak was really good however and we would recommend having this, my steak was on the tough side but I didn't complain as I don't like making a fuss and I felt they did their best.
The food was lovely - home cooked traditional pub fare- and the pub itself is lovely. What was a little lacking was the attitude of some of the staff. Some were lovely, but I was left waiting at the bar whilst the bar man unloaded the dish washer and my children were shouted at (not discreetly) when they touched some ornaments. This is in a pub which advertises itself outside as family friendly. I wouldn't be put off visiting again, but please remember that a warm welcome counts for a huge amount.
Good food. You need a good appetite to finish the meals though. The homemade faggots were lovely. Nice surroundings good service. Not rushed at all.
Comfortable; inviting; food excellent - steak and gammon cooked to perfection; menu limited but prices reasonable - its a pub !! Try it you'll like it
We were given a voucher for the Weatsheaf so decided to use it yesterday. We were able to book a table online very easily and within a couple of hours had arrived. We found the staff professional and extremely friendly. The food was ordered and was with us quickly. It was wonderful, good sized portions and cooked to perfection. There is not one thing to criticize. We will definitely be back soon.
We had a lovely home made curry, reasonably priced. Good service and made to feel very welcome. We will definitely go back. Also, had a good Sunday lunch.
A very smart pub with good food and real ale, Butcombe, Doombar and 6X. Pleasant staff. Recommend the liver and bacon, and home made faggots. Very good atmosphere
Wide selection of drinks, excellent food in a clean and tidy country pub, lovely beer garden with stunning views, it would have been even better if the staff gave service with a smile.
First time visit to the wheatsheat and was really impressed. Staff friendly very clean pub and above all food was excellent and very well priced. Will definitely be visiting again
