pleasant staff not too busy felt segregation of coffee tables area UGLY
Not a good selection of cakes for tea. Staff not trained properly.
I think the service is a bit slow and some, of the salads could have revamp. Brussel sprout salad disappoiting
excellent accueil. l afternoon tea est magique. Je recommande à la fois pour l assiette et aussi pour le cadre. Une visite du musee s impose si vous ne le connaissez pas.
Despite booking a table, I had to wait in a queue to be seated. There were about 8 people in line and only one waiter, who was mostly preoccupied with serving. After six minutes of waiting, I left to eat somewhere else.
Unusually it was packed and there weren’t enough staff. Food as usual very satisfactory.
This restaurant really needs to pull its socks up - such a shame that the lovely space is completely ruined by such shoddy service
Good tea great value for money and lovely food . Best place for tea in London
I had booked prior to our visit for 1pm on a Wednesday. Ordered our starters and main meal by 1.10pm. Waited 30 minutes for the soup...quite bland and cold and then a further 45mins for the main course which had absolutely no flavour at all. Very disappointing. The Museum is fantastic but the service times, food and noisy restaurant really let the place down. I am visiting the Museum again in two weeks time but I will not be booking the restaurant.
The hostess rolled her eyes when we came in because she said our booking was 15 minutes earlier than tea was served usually. We said that was fine and then ordered and waited 45 minutes for our tea tray. It wasn’t busy. We watched two other parties that were larger than us (3 people) come in and sit down and get served tea trays before us. I finally asked our server if our tea was on the way and he rolled his eyes (honestly not sure how we could’ve been more soft-spoken/polite) and then grabbed a tea tray from a stand maybe 2 feet away and put it on our table. He said “oh sorry this has been here a few minutes.” That’s when we wanted to roll our eyes for a change, but we laughed and said it was OK. Not sure if we just caught the staff on a bad day but it wasn’t a great experience.
We arrived earlier than our booked time. The staff were friendly helpful & accommodated us immediately.
My boyfriend and I had a really wonderful time. Thank you!
The service was all very pleasant but the restaurant seemed to be understaffed. Perhaps chaos is normal and long queues (for those with reservation) the norm.
Service was good as was the food. It’s a very nice space indeed - very light. It was quite cold however. I’ve been in the past at warmer times of the year.
We love the place. The food was so-so. The chicken leg was dry and overcooked. The service was midiocre. I will go back for the sheer pleasure of sitting in that room. But I wish they can improve the food, or may be we were just unlucky that day with the order?
The service was a bit off. The waitress that received us was in a bad mood and the waiters as well. They look like they don’t want to be there or they don’t like what they do. Poor service but the coffee and the cakes were very nice.
Waiter had attitude...could have been better ... obvious staff issues
Great exhibition, very good food but more waiters should be employed at busy times. We missed the lecture as a result.
Super venue. Food interesting but little overpriced. Will definitely return
A few moments Wine on menu not available but more recent one was but still priced at same rate Food was only warm and had to be returned Service charge deducted as acknowledgment of difficulties Nice space but remember it’s cavernous and atmosphere dependent on the weather !
Lovely Museum and restaurant , nice afternoon tea and friendly staff
A freezing environment with the slowest service I have encountered for years-and we were some of the lucky ones. The table next to us had pre-ordered food and had to wait an hour and a half for their starters to arrive. Waiting staff pleasant but overwhelmed.
Our only criticism is that the food is not very hot when arriving at the table.
It was very nice atmosphere. Delicious scones. The service was very good.
Exceptional, from entering through the doors, enjoying the food and feasting our eyes on the splendour that surrounded us. Last, but not the least, the staff were amazing too. Thank you very much.
Not value for money. The afternoon tea was ok, but not worth the price
A nice meal, BUT the venue is lifted by its association with the Museum. As a stand-alone restaurant, I think it would struggle. It’s a shame that the dining area hasn’t seen the investment it needs. Tables need changing / covering, to get away from the cafe feel (we were in restaurant section). It’s a rather bland area and would benefit from plants, trees or something to make it less dull and dampen the echoey noise.
This time there were long waiting times to be seated, and to be served. Usually it’s very good.
Amazing place! Beautiful. The wait was a little long but besides that, it was perfect
Excellent atmosphere, good food, very enjoyable time spent with friends.
great place to have lunch - great menu and location
A lovely atmosphere and excellent contemporary menu. We had lunch after seeing the exhibits and were very impressed with both service and food.
Overall disappointing. Service little confused. Food not brilliant for price.
We were with a group of 10 people and everyone was super friendly!
A very enjoyable lunch. Great venue. Great location. I must make time to look around the collection one day!
Stylish venue under the atrium, plenty of choice on menu, tried the vegetarian dishes - imaginative, well presented and tasty. Friendly and efficient service on a very hot day.
Nice place, but you need some air conditioning in there. Too hot
A really nice place for a get together with girlfriends
Disappointed today! Food was indifferent with an excessively long waiting period. The roasted kohlrabi was burnt rather than roasted and chicken instead of fish was served. Very different from a previous experience. Lorraine tried to make amends. This was a special treat for my grand daughters from Birmingham - sadly a bit disappointing.
Best setting for tea in London, when its not hot outside.
We tried to the afternoon tea but it hasn’t yet allowed time.., but the sweets was very nice. I’ll try afternoon tea next time!
Fabulous setting for a very good set lunch. The Collection itself is well worth a visit.
A great hidden gem in Marylebone. Well worth a visit
