Having visited for a special occasion, from the very moment we walked in we were made to feel most welcome. The food did not disappoint; the choice was perfect and the price very reasonable. All the dishes we had were full of flavour and very well presented. The food cooked by Simon has to rate as some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Would highly recommend.
Despite it being a busy evening, the staff were cheerful and helpful, each dish we chose was beautifully prepared and delicious. What a find! We will definitely return.
Service was excellent, very friendly staff but disappointing food. Previous menu was much more interesting. Current menu offered in other establishments where it is of better quality. Such a shame!
Excellent food and service, we really enjoyed and can't wait to go again. The staff were really helpful and cheerful and the food service was prompt.
It’s a lovely informal modern atmosphere. Food and service was very good. It should be on the map for places to go in the area
Excellent food, lovely staff. Very attentive without being invasive. Great ambience, Overall a very pleasant dining experience, especially recommend the whitebait to start! Will go again.
Overall we enjoyed our Sunday lunch, the staff were lovely, the food was good allthough we felt it was a little pre- prepared and were a little rushed with our main course arriving almost as soon as we sat down. The pudding we chose was very good ( date sponge ), we had a superb bottle of Argentinian Malbec. Our special occasion was unfortunately marred by sitting near to a party of 4 very loud, swearing, possibly under the influence of to much wine. That was completely out of the control of the staff and restuarant, and I don't blame them at all, just bad timing. We would return to the Vine Tree again. 😀
lovely staff, pleasant dining room, beautiful food (Sunday lunch) and just the right amount of it - would recommend it to people, bit more upmarket and pricer than other locals but very decent price, and well worth the difference
Had a lovely meal out the vine tree, staff were very friendly and food was amazing! Great service and great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!
Nice Sunday lunch, lovely pudding, friendly staff. Waited a little long for drinks and could have done with a bit more veg with the lunch, was a bit sparse for 3 of us but food was very tasty
Menu had limited choice, food was ok and reasonably priced. Resturant lovely, decorated to a high standard, drinks menu really good too. Would I return, probably not, really sorry to say this but food overall was disappointing.
First time we have visited the Vine Tree. The food and service was amazing. We would definitely recommend. Many thanks for a very pleasurable experience 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍
Excellent food. Service a little lacking - no-one behind bar when we arrived; had to ask for wine list. Also found additional starter on bill!!
Couldn't fault the Vine Tree food and service. Excellent, tasty, different, everything we were looking for. Shame a party of 8 with foul language ruined our experience that were sitting next to us.
Outstanding food within a friendly atmosphere. Staff were lovely and welcoming. New renovated stylish decorated building which does suffer from limited parking. Altogether a lovely place.
The booking app worked - our table was ready when we arrived Good food and service - we enjoyed it and will revisit if we are in the area again
Our second visit and we will be back. From start to finish the staff was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. Couldn't fault it. We had a very enjoyable evening.
Amazing food at great prices & really friendly, personal & attentive staff. Good selection of wines & other alcoholic bevarages. Will definitely be viditing again very soon.
The Vine Tree has a very welcoming atmosphere when you enter with a nice bar area and friendly staff. The food was excellent as was the service and overall ambience of the establishment. In such a beautiful part of Wales, The Vine Tree will be visited again and again by us!
I visited with my wife and daughter and we were very impressed, friendly staff, good service and superb food. Would recommend booking a meal there.
Very nice from start to finish in a lovely setting. I had the ham hock terrine to start followed by pork chop with a mustard sauce both delicious. Would recommend to a friend.
A lovely setting, quite friendly staff but they lacked the attention to detail that is essential in providing good service. We experienced long delays at each stage of the meal and there didn’t seem to be anyone with an overall view of the restaurant ensuring things were running properly. The food was, on the whole, reasonable, however the pastry base of the “pie of the day “ was so hard I couldn’t actually cut it let alone eat it. The remainder of the meal was ok.
The food was delicious and plenty, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed, the table and bar service was outstanding, will definitely be returning again soon.
Really lovely meal, well designed lunch menu. Had surf and turf with a twist. I would highly recommend it as a main the House white wine beautiful.
A lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting, the staff were very friendly, the food choice and quality was excellent! I will definitely be returning very soon
Initial reception and service a little slow but once in the system it was excellent. Some of our dishes seemed a little over-priced but some were excellent, overall good standard with good selection of wines. Few more fans in the room would have been appreciated but overall a very enjoyable evening
We had a delicious meal although we did make an observation that the new potatoes were disappointing, especially as they are so delicious at the moment. The service was very friendly and not too long. Made our 56th wedding anniversary special.
Good service,Great food . Good value for money, very happy! Thanks for a nice evening .We will return. Would liked to have seen lamb on the menu ,as in season now ,and my favorite
An enjoyable evening. Good imaginative food and a pleasant ambiance. The criticism is that we were seated upstairs and it felt the service was a little inattentive from time to time. Would I return - yes.
disappointing night arrived early ended up sitting in the kitchen area having booked a table in the restaurant menu nothing like online only battered fish available no sirloin or fillet steak ended up spending £100.00 for fried fish and chips and a small portion of chicken only good experience was the staff as they were very pleasant
Pretty pricey, wasn’t fussed on pork belly starter no taste to it at all other food was lovely. Lemon tart is to die for. Haha
Good service from young servers. Food quite nice although mine was a bit salty. Room very hot but hot day so maybe difficult to manage.
Best restaurant in the area, great food, lovely environment and atmosphere, inventive menu, good selection of wines, bit pricier than most in the locale but totally worth it
Very well presented restaurant with delicious food and a friendly service. A good drinks selection as well. We will come back. The bar downstairs is also nice.
Lovely restaurant very modern inside. Light and airy. A little noisy upstairs but it was Father’s Day so many small children. Starter and sweet were excellent. Roast Pork was very good but roast beef a little disappointing. Yorkshire pud looked amazing but was tasteless and leathery, no horseradish sauce was offered. All waiting staff served at table and then returned downstairs so there was no one available to ask. Nobody came to table to ask if we were enjoying our meal. Overall a nice little find and we will return another time.
Food was so fussy the tastes didnt blend portions were tiny drinks very expensive staff efficient but unfriendly and rushed our meal. For £87 for 2 guests i would expect a lot more food and customer service !!!
Lovely food & good service . Only fault was they did not have the wine we ordered but the recommended alternative was very nice , if a little more expensive
Food was delicious, especially the steak, cooked very well. Great service and friendly staff Lovely surroundings, watched the horses ave foals run around as we ate.
Fabulous food which is beautifully presented on every plate. The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The environment is relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend The Vine Tree, Llangattock.
Lovely food but shame the weather so rubbish as it felt chilly inside . Lovely friendly staff . Please cut back the shrub from car park as it blocks the visibility on to a very busy road ..
3rd time we have been here for Sunday dinner. Absolutely fantastic service and food. Staff are so friendly. Highly recommended to family and friends!! 5*
Booking via internet - excellent Décor - lovely Food - mediocre, and served one and a half hours after ordering Service - truly dreadful. Bank holiday weekend with only 3 staff who were clearly overworked and stressed, no management representation, our meal order was 'forgotten', no follow up to a request for an explanation, and wrong drinks served. Will we visit again - no chance! Would we recommend? no - visit The Bear or The Felin Fach Griffin where you will be properly valued and made to feel welcome.
Service was really slow, had ask numerous times for drinks which we also had to reminde the waitress to get. Batter on the starter was cooked in dirty oil and didn’t taste the best but the lamb rump for main was amazing! Would go again but they defiantly need to up there game!
Good food, great experience and atmosphere, staff were friendly overall a lovely night. Would recommend this restaurant to friends. Will be happy to book again.
A sunny bank holiday weekend visit to the vine tree. Food was good but service on this visit was poor waited an hour for starters and had to remind various staff for water And drinks throughout the evening. Tables were noisey and on this visit sadly we didn’t have the wow experience
Meal was beautifully presented, although my husband's meat was a little tough and his Yorkshire pudding was too big and overcooked. We will definitely book another meal with you but can you not seat us overlooking the stairs through a glass balcony? I felt quite dizzy at times. Wine was lovely and views through the window was interesting. Everything was very clean and we felt treated.
Six customers all agreed, Staff were excellent, starters good, Main course disappointing, undercooked and lacking veggies for 6, desserts excellent. Overall experience disappointing and not to the standard previously enjoyed at The Vine Tree.
Food perfectly reasonable, although had run out of steaks and burgers. Cider behind the bar was also not available. Risotto was tasty and Chicken burger was ok. Shoestring fries soon went limp as the combined heat in close proximity made them soggy (any way to keep them crispy?). Restaurant was kind enough to offer profiteroles as an extra anniversary order which was really good of them. Abiding impression was of a reasonable dining/serving experience for a once-in-a-while visit. Not favourite dining experience in the area, although not negative either.
Service vastly improved since our last visit: Food was very good - menu re-hashed for the better and ( we felt) somewhat more 'bistro' orientated than 'destination restaurant'. Our only question was around value - at the end, after aperitifs, a bottle or two on the table and three courses, we felt that we paid near top end prices.... However it did not detract from a highly enjoyable time in a great venue coupled with very good, attentive service. Well worth a visit:
Excellent service, excellent food, lovely ambience. Very close to the rest of the town which is lovely, some great independent shops and a great pub - the Dragon inn.
