Historic building with a modern touch. Immaculately presented. Attentive staff and very well presented and cooked food. A recipe for success. Recommended popular venue. A+
food was absolutely delicious, and the staff very friendly! We had a great table next to the open plan kitchen, and enjoyed watching other meals being made up and served
Friendly staff , beautiful location and outstanding food ... yes it’s a little pricey but you get what you pay for ... very good experience
Great service great food lovely atmosphere very enjoyable will definitely recommend. Had Sunday lunch only made reservation on the day lucky to get a table staff were very friendly.
Lovely food and service pricing fair choice would recommend a few more. Very cold and heating seemed to be inadequate which made the experience unpleasant.
I understand how busy the restaurant is but yesterday the service was below the standard expected having to wait in excess 25 minutes to clear the table another 15 minutes to bring a dessert menu 15 minutes to take our order only to be told we had the wrong dessert menu at that stage I cancelled the order shame because the food is good
This is one of my favourite restaurants, always beautiful food, lovely staff and a great selection of wines. All set in beautiful surroundings with magnificent views
Amazing Sunday dinner, nothing to dislike not even the suede!!! Service second to none and general ambience perfectly suited to a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch. Highly recommended
We absolutely loved it. Had two courses, only reason we didn’t have a dessert is because we were too full! Gorgeous food and really good service. Would recommend
very nice place. service was great. staff were very helpful and made it a very pleasant experience. food was very nice we both had the steak cooked perfectly.
Very pleasant surroundings and delicious food. Good to see the menu changes. The Thai fish cake was amazing, the duck main course was very tasty.
Very much enjoyed our lunch. Staff were great and very helpful . We will be Returning soon to try the evening menu which looks yummy. Great location easy parking.
Great service, drinks and food. We shared Welsh rarebit, and then had the pork belly and fish & chips, all really well cooked and lovely presentation. Very good value for money too. Would recommend and would visit again.
Excellent food once again great service and the location just near the river was fabulous , staff were very friendly . A great place to eat and drink
Excellent food and service. Very quiet on a Sunday night, was able to pick the gallery table which had a nice atmosphere and lighting. Food wasn't cheap but good quality. Will be returning soon.
Fab food had 2 course lunch menu was going to have 3 course but stuffed. Try it well worth the money definitely going back and good wine too even the house white. Loved the refurbishment and staff were friendly too.
SUPERB FOOD SERVED IN A LOVELY ATMOSPHERE BY A VERY ATTENTIVE WAITRESS. A WONDERFUL P[NT OF REV JAMES. HAVE BEEN TWICE IN THE LAST 10 DAYS AND WILL DEFINITELY GO AGAIN
No check back done. Beef was well done NOT RARE after being told it would be rare. Cauliflower cheese was more like mashed Cauliflower cheese. Had to ask for more drinks. Did this just after receiving mains. Had to ask if they had been ordered. Received after finishing mains.
staff were welcoming, great. The lamb was inedible which they probably noticed from what was left on our plates. Chewy and hard to cut. Disappointing.
The food was delicious. The staff excellent. Our only complaint was it was very cold in the corner to the point that we mentioned it and the response was the heating is on full as if to say we were in the wrong. I would recommend the heating needs improving! And also some customer service training for the staff
Just ok . Duck wasn’t crispy. Wine came after we’d already had our starters. Not enough staff
The restaurant is very well decorated and the staff friendly, professional and welcoming. There is a good range of dishes on the menu, with some very special options. My main of hake, cockles, broccolini and white wine sauce was delicious and perfectly cooked. There are some interesting wines and an enticing selection of desserts. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Nice setting and good food. Maybe trying slightly too hard with the flavour combinations - the lemon tart could have been more lemony rather than pairing it with meringue and raspberries
Gorgeous lunch, beautiful venue and lovely staff. Can’t wait to go back. The food was great and the ambience was chilled and perfect for a Sunday.
Excellent duck, fantastic service, really enjoyed the food and the relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go back... cheese and biscuits we’re also great. Thank you all.
Very welcoming staff, good menu and great food at a reasonable price. Could do with turning the heating up a bit though. Was a bit chilly
A perfect place for lunch after a long walk. The fish and chips was delicious and the service was efficient and friendly. We will definitely visit again.
Excellent meal and very good atmosphere - watching the busy kitchen was very entertaining and really added to the overall experience - despite the concerns of the staff!!
Lovely Sunday lunch. Service was good and for a table of 6 was quite quick. Not a huge choice for younger children. Only negative was that it was very cold inside.
Excellent food, poor service. Waited for drinks which never arrived! However food was very good! Spent 20 minutes waiting to pay the bill at the bar!
The food was lovely and well presented. There wasn't a huge choice especially the sides. The environment was lovely but it was so cold. I had to keep my coat on.
One of the best meals I've ever had, and at my age that's saying something! A real treat and a lovely end to our short break in Wales. Thank you.
Good food. Nice atmosphere - pub ni ely re-furbished. Service ok given how busy they were. Would recommend for a tasty Sunday lunch with fine produce and tender meat.
Amazing and delicious food. lovely cosy atmosphere and staff were very good and helpful. Nothing bad to say. Good choice of food of menu. Nothing bad to say.
Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were attentive and friendly and the surroundings are modern and tasteful. The food was delicious and very well presented.
Having read several reviews for The Vine Tree that were glowing we were optimistic for a good evening meal. Unfortunately when we arrived the atmosphere was poor with the staff more interested in the computer system than serving us. The meal started well and we were very pleased with the starters but the mains soon lowered the tone with the pastry for the chicken and mushroom pie very tough and a couple of times I thought I was going to break the plate. The website states it uses locally sourced food but not once on the menu does it say who the suppliers are. Having been looking forward to an evening out I am sorry to say i would recommend The Bear and the Dragon in Crickhowell ahead of the Vine Tree.
We all enjoyed our meals . Three had the chicken and mushroom pie and one had whitebait as a main course. I would not give them a 5 as they forgot our vinegar fir the delicious chips! They had to be reminded. We would definitely eat there again.
The crayfish linguine was awash with oil, so not great. The beer battered haddock and chips was on the other hand very good. Service started off ok but deteriorated. We asked for the dessert menu but after waiting in vain we decided to leave the table and pay at the bar on the way out. Not the best night out I’m afraid!
Could not find any faults. Good food and very pleasant staff. My only suggestion would be not to season the chips, but allow diners to decide if they wish to season the food. Overall my wife and I had a very pleasant evening.
Warm welcome from behind the bar, had drinks before dinner! Food was very good, and well priced. Service was a little slow, asked for a glass of prosecco at the table and had finished our dinner before it came.. however would still highly recommend
A fabulous meal, mouthwatering tastes, menu had excellent selection with an excellent service. Would recommend to anyone to visit the vine tree in the beautiful surroundings of crickhowell
Lovely place - good service and food. Enjoyed a lovely day out with my wife - would return. Overall a great day in a well decorated pub.
Appalling service our table reservation made for 7pm, taken to table drinks order taken and served BUT didn’t come back for our food order till 8.05pm - not impressed!! Also very disappointed with their new menu will not be going back.
Lovely clean and tidy place! Was looked after! Nice to have not one but two vegan options and the flavours where incredible! Would definitely recommend!
Overall an outstanding evening. Atmosphere was great and food was fantastic. However we had to wait over 30 mins for our order to be taken. And on two occasions had to ask again for drinks that had already been ordered, but it was Saturday night and fairly busy. Despite that minor fault we will most certainly return.
The food was excellent, the drinks at just the right temperature and the building has been very well converted - but - the service was slow and chaotic and the staff showed no sign of being trained - ever. Customers at the next table to us tried to raise this with staff but were brushed off with sillylkame excuses, There are many restaurants in this area and tonight The Vibe Tree slipped well down our list. Poor and disappointing
Great beginning, welcome, initial order and main course excellent. Drinks were a bit slow but quality of beer and wine v good. Clearing of main course and ordering of dessert good but then a fair bit later discovered that there was no cheese. 40 mins later the other dessert hadn’t arrived and no attention given, so gave up and went to the bar to ask for our bill. We had to have the desserts removed from the bill before leaving. Great shame as it has a lot of potential.
Lovely food particularly the desserts, both the cheesecake and lemon tart were exceptional. Great atmosphere, place looks fantastic since the refurbishment, will definitely be returning.
Service was very good and extremely speedy. We asked to be moved because of a draft from the fire escape and were fairly quickly found a new table, though the rooms upstairs were not as warm and cosy as expected. The food was hot and tasty and the portions size generous, though the sauces I feel needed a little more flavour/punch. Pudding menu needs working on. The overall evening/experience was enjoyable and prices were very comparable to others in the area.
The staff were clueless They need more training and understanding of the food they are serving up The food was average and quite expensive for what it was
