Lovely to be back here! Not only because it was the first day after the second lockdown but because we haven’t been here for some time. Service was great food and drink was great and the ambience was warm, We were very well looked after and this place like a lot of other pubs and restaurants have really done on awful lot to make everyone feel safe and welcome!

Spent the evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. As always food was excellent, it is a very special place

Superb food in a very nice setting, I came here for a Sunday roast about 18 months ago and it was already a good experience, yesterday I’ve had a lunch with my wife that was just awesome. Great service too, definitely a gem in our borough.

Party of 4 - 2 couples. Pleasant evening ate early sat outside - seating was 2 benches very hard and uncomfortable. 2 of us selected calves liver (delicious) but bubble & squeak appeared to be just potato. Good sticky toffee pud.

Food as usual was very good but what made this visit was the amount of time and money which has been spent on making the outside dining area so impressive. Shelter - whether under canvas gazebos, wooden structures or individual summerhouses were all complimented by plenty of patio heaters making it an enjoyable experience. We have regularly ordered takeaway meals during lockdown and are now delighted to be back in person and interact with the wonderful staff. Thank you to everyone there.

I felt that the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable. The food though was cold but eating outside would not have helped.

On arrival the owner kindly allowed us to park behind his gate and all staff were very welcoming and took the time to say hello when we entered. Food was fantastic and I highly recommend the calves liver. I will visit again very soon. Thank you for a great service.

I thought my meal of lamb shank was poor particularly vegetables and potato

Booked a table for 5. Have always loved it here in the cosy Autumn/ Winter for a roast but it was lovely to have some bottles of rose and lunch outside in the garden area. We'll certainly be back again soon!
