We had the Christmas dinner and the food was very bland. The service was OK but did feel a little rushed with the timing of the food and a little rushed when it came to paying. Nice enough pub but the food really was poor.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. We were a large group with lots of double buggies and they found a way to squeeze us in. The food was great too.

Great neighbourhood gastro pub moments from Clapham old town and high street. Good value, great variety and friendly staff. Real buzz on Saturday night but could be a bit noisy at times

Great restaurant/pub with good service. One small downside was they were a bit heavy on the chilli in one dish. But don't let that put you off.

Good atmosphere, good food, was good for a Friday night catch up with friends! Lovely wine choice and they do good cocktails too. The burger was very tasty!

Food was good, everything ordered was tasty and cooked well. Service could have been better, food ordered didn't arrive and mains took longer than normal to be served

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Stonhouse. It's a buzzy, friendly atmosphere, the service is great and the food is tasty home cooking. A very nice place for Sunday lunch.

Great food, great wine, great service, can't fault it. Will certainly be back. Liked the ambience and decor too, and it is nice and warm in winter, when many places in London seem to have open doors and draughts everywhere.

Delightful gastropub tucked away down a quiet street in Clapham. Great atmosphere for a relaxed dinner with friends or a romantic date. Service was friendly and efficient without being over attentive. Food was delicious with light tasty starters and hearty full flavoured mains. Portion size was very generous too, and 50% off in January made it a bargain!

The Stonehouse is one of those quaint charming pubs, that line the side-streets of Edwardian housing developments. You can see that once it was a hive of decadence, spurned by the middle classes clutching on to the tattered remains of temperance whilst embraced by returning war veterans eager to forget the muck of slanders at the bottom of a pint glass.

I visited the Stonhouse with a friend for an evening catch up. The service was good and they had a lovely open fire to keep us toasty!

Love this pub! Friendly service and great food. Added bonus of 50% off in January! I went for my birthday last year with 16 others, and it impressed us then. We were tucked away in the corner this time which was actually really nice. I'd always go back...

The Stonhouse was a really nice pub - a warm, cosy setting, with great food and drink. Service was good too. Would definitely go back or check out some of the other pubs in the chain.

Usually this place is great but I'm not sure if they've had a big change in staff recently or something. I had to send the steak back as it was overcooked and when my friend asked for Parmesan on her tortollini she was told it would be extra, and then the minutest little bowl of parmesan chunks arrived.I'll as opposed to have some Parmesan grated on top for you.

Lovely place, wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. I would definitely go again and recommend it everyone. It's worth booking so you can be near the fire on a cold, winter evening.

Food was great but it was such a busy night - could barely hear anything and struggled to get the bill even though they stated they needed the table back??

Good food, good service. Great place for a Sunday roast. Would definitely recommend going here, the Yorkshire puddings are massive. Lot's of other choices available too if you don't fancy a roast

The food was poor, my friend's special of the day fish pie was not warm in the middle. She asked for it to be warmed, we had to wait 20 minutes for another one to be brought out... By that time I had eaten my special of the day beef brisket (drowned in BBq sauce) and the vegetables cold. We only manage to get my friends' plate but getting a waiter's attention...No-one offered to give us warm vegetables. Food rating: poor Service rating: poor Only good thing: the fireplace

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, good prices, amazing food. Only the noise (yes, I know it's a pub) can be a bit annoying sometimes. Would also like to recommend the Christmas dinner (£29.50 for three courses).

Been coming to the stonhouse for a couple of years. They were Running a bit late due to how busy it was but as always the food was good, came out quickly and the service was great.

Excellent serving staff. Barman was abrupt and unhelpful. Very noisy and crowded in the pub when we dined on a sunday afternoon, and the roast dinner was expensive (£15) for what it was. I wouldnt go back for a roast.

Lovely pub with delicious food. The only let down was the pudding - the treacle on the sticky toffee pudding was burnt, even when we asked for a new one. The staff were helpful though and the roast and Bloody Mary were great! Worth a visit.

We had the Sunday roast. Unfortunately they had no chicken left so the only option was beef, it was all very tasty but the beef was a bit thinly sliced for me. Dessert was also very good.

The service was very good. We ordered the roast but was later told that there was limited vegetables. I received one carrot and one very small piece of broccoli, although there was plenty of green beans and peas. However, there was much more meat on the plate than I had received previously which made up front the missing vegetables.

We arrived early around 7ish so the restaurant was still nice and quiet. Very good vegetarian options in this occasion as normally there are very few choices.

I fundamentally like the Stonhouse, it's a nice environment, generally friendly staff. The food is OK but do not expect anything more than that, the wine list has a reasonable selection and doesn't make your wallet sweat too much, although there could be a few more wines at the top end of the list as I personally only had 3 or 4 wines to choose from that I would be happy to drink. Overall I would recommend The Stonhouse it's a good place with the bonus that it's dog friendly!

Service very good. Sunday chicken roast average. Only vegetables were fresh chicken and potatoes simply reheated as bottom of chicken burnt. No stuffing which would have enhanced flavour.

Very friendly and fast service and tasty food (I had the roast beef dinner). They lost one point because I'm not a fan of having dogs in places where food is served (unless they're assistance/service dogs), and one man had a large dog with him that occasionally barked quite loudly.

Sticky toffee pudding tasted bitter, thin the sugar gad been overdone in the sauce. Got some attitude from the bar stuff when we pointed out the diet cokes we ordered were full fat cokes and asked for replacements.

We ate in the pub, and the food wasn't as nice as when we had previously eaten in the restaurant section (but prices are also a lot less, so this is to be expected). We were moved due to a large party coming in, but the waitress very kindly gave us free drinks.

We've been to the stonhouse regularly for years now and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. Sadly on this occasion the food was below par - tasteless dry hummus, bland dry burger - a real disappointment. I hope this is a one off and not the sign of a change for the worse at the stonhouse. Lovely wine as always.

Only one vegetarian main meal was available on the menu and it wasn't very good. Very bland pasta dish - pasta in oil dressing basically. Great staff and service though.

Service was good, but the Sunday roast we had was totally undercooked! Meat, veg, and potatoes were all hard and even inedible in some cases. The meat wasn't such an issue, as it was beef and we both enjoy it rare, but even then some parts of it were totally raw. The veg was a problem - the roast potatoes were anaemic and hard in the middle, and the green vegetables were really hard. You couldn't slice through some of them with a knife. Apart from that, the service was relatively good, and the pub is nice, but it was full of screaming children and the whole atmosphere was very loud (there are probably too many tables in too small a space). All in all, definitely one to avoid.

Very Good food, friendly service. Would have appreciated a table outside as we booked. Waited a bit long to get our food (kids got theirs way before us) but got the explanation (and apologies). Overall very good value. Highly recommend.
