Everything excellent. Good value for money and friendly waiters/waitresses. highly recommended.
Perfect space for our size group. would definitely go again
Loved it. Lore was an amazing host to have for our Chrismas Meal party.
We booked a table at the Shakespeare for our Team Christmas Meal via this website: https://www.theshakespearebarbican.co.uk/christmas-2018 and were told when we arrived that we had to book for Christmas food a week in advance, although there was no mention of this on the website.
Italian food mostly from Liguria (where pesto was born, but not only) well prepared and at fair value for money. NIce and helpful staff.
Spend a great time and it was quiet enough for our meeting
Most delicious farinata and cheese focaccia! Very authentic Ligurian dishes!
slow service - waiting for 30 minutes for lunch order. Drinks forgotten about. Pizza okay - not as good as it used to be. Requested a 20% discount for food and drinks for the terrible service and thankfully they obliged. Won't be going there for food ever again.
Amazing pizza and a really good service from the incredibly friendly staff!
Great place great food great atmosphere . Reasonable prices but could put more on happy hour than just a gin a tonic that was a little let down but otherwise good place
amazing food, the only true focaccia di recco in town. relaxed atmosphere and good selection of beers makes it a perfect stop before going to the Barbican
Really good! Lovely pub and great food and service. We had fish and chips, pizza and chicken burger. All freshly cooked. Sensibly, the pizza came in 3 sizes so no waste from being given a huge one that you haven't got room for. Would certainly recommend.
We liked the food. The fish and chips were excellent. The staff were lovely and friendly, but the service was chaotic and disorganised. The quality of the food and the warmth of the atmosphere will definitely take us back there sometimes.... Just not when we're trying for a quick lunch 😉
Probably the worst dining experience ever. Very quiet so expected decent service - no. Most of the menu not available but some items only told after giving order 10 minutes previously. Food took ages (still not busy so who knows why), some was completely cold and sent back then same dish returned 15 minutes later after being (slightly) warmed up in a microwave and to finish off the pizzas came out after everyone else had finished. Then when I went to bar to get the bill (as clearly asking for it 15 minutes previously wasn't good enough) they had the cheek to try and include a service charge! For such a terrible experience I'm annoyed I paid anything AT ALL to this shambles of an establishment. Never, ever going back and can't believe anyone else would.
I love Shakespeare and for its unique atmosphere. I enjoy both, the relaxed early hours during the week day and more busy evenings at the weekend. Shakespeare is also so great thanks to its amazing and friendly staff!
Excellent food, brilliant staff and well mixed G&T! This was our second visit, the first was quite by accident. Close to my other halfs office so brilliant for dinner before heading home. Will be back again soon 😊
The food was no good. Cold peas and potatoes, meat was overdone (while i asked for "rare") The fish and chips of was likewise. Cold fish, raw potatoes. The beer was oke. The ambiance poorly. The ladies serving the food tried to make it bearable.
