Staff friendly service good food perfect it is local and must visit again soon
We have been to the Rose Garden a few times now and the food and service are always exceptional. Our visit today was brilliant and we look forward to going again soon.
Food is exceptional, lovely presentation. Gorgeous flavours. Beautiful classy decor.
Lovely meal in lovely surroundings... Always reliable and polite staff
Xmas lunch with friends, great food, friendly staff nice atmosphere.
Food was good as usual, but now if your bill is over £100, now they have decided to add a 10% service charge, which I felt was quite presumptuous. We always leave a tip, but it felt like we were being told to leave a tip.
Lovely food ,well presented, lovely staff. Will be going again.Booked for next week.
Very good food and excellent service again , definitely recommend
Lovely food not enough people so no atmosphere. Good service
Good selection of meats and veggies although could have been a little hotter. But in their defence 2 of our guests were a little late owing to traffic.
Excellent as usual. Lovely tasty food & very nice surroundings with friendly staff.
The starter of prawn cocktail was lovely. However the carvery was very disappointing. The turkey was dry and over cooked. The initial pork that was served up to us wasn't cooked, I don't mean rare, I mean raw!! (That joint was removed after we pointed out that it couldn't be eaten) The beef was ok, and pigs in blankets were tasty. We had a range of deserts. Some were OK, however the cherry crumble was very soggy. The panacotta was not set and disappointing, the accompanying biscuit was so stale it was inedible. The service was quite good and staff polite. We won't be going back.
Great friendly service, lovely freshly cooked food, overall good value
I stated in my on line booking that I was gluten intolerant and I am please to say that there were many GF options available, you did a great job and the food was delicious thank you
All carveries seem the same good quality meat but poor veg and potatoes. Starter very good and a good selection of sweets. Overall not as good as weekday lunches
Very good food and service , would definitely revisit again
Lovely food. Pleasant surroundings and lovely people. Good overall dinning experience.
Amazing food, served hot and fresh. Service was lovely and so friendly.
Excellent food great portions very well priced Lovely staff overall a great evening
Food, staff surrounding fantastic Been here several times, never disappointed
Would have liked proper roast potatoes, other than that all good
Another hot and tasty roastie at the Rose garden one of my favourites.
The Rose garden is such a nice place to eat always friendly staff and the food is delicious
Everything great but the portion of ham with the ham ,egg and and chips was embarrassingly meagre. It was ONE razor thin slice which was so thin you couldn't even taste it. So tight fisted in my opinion, considering it was £13. I didn't complain at the time as I didn't want to spoil the occasion and the waitress was so lovely. For this reason I will never come back and will not recommend the place. Very unnecessarily stingy and greedy of the management to pass this off as a portion. Such a shame as the broccoli and stilton soup was divine and so was the dark chocolate Belgian tart.
We had a new dish, chicken & mushroom pie. It was very nice. My only disappointment was that it didn't come with any type of potato. When I questioned it, I was told that if you want potato you can buy it as a side dish! Also the prices on the signature dishes have been recently raised considerably.
I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant. The carvery was exceptional.
Delicious home made food . Attentive service & great venue
We went because we had been recommended the Beef Wellington and were not disappointed. It was delicious and the flavour of the sauce was stunning. The selection of veggies were perfect. Starters were great too. Service was friendly, and welcoming. A great way to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommended.
Amazing service and the food was off the scale. Thoroughly recommended
Booked a table for a lunchtime meal on our anniversary. Two days later as we arrived we were informed that there was a malfunction in the kitchen and told to try elsewhere!
Always lovely food, good service and good decor. Will return.
Visited yesterday, enjoyed the Indian starter, and the shepherds pie main was good, plenty of meat. Good service as usual.
I am sure my Sirloin Steak was cut off a joint of Sirloin Beef as it was all pieces not very tasty and the Peppercorn Sauce was not nearly as nice as I have in other Restaurants . Service very good . Would I return it was a long way to come for a disappointing meal .
Excellent as previous visits. There were quite a few more people in for lunch than there usually are and thought we may have to wait a lot longer. However, that was not the case. The waiting staff were very efficient and the increased amount of people didn't make a difference. Great service.
We were visiting my uncle,& at same time we like having lunch at the rose garden, my husband & I had soup tomato and basil, which was lovely, we both had cod and chips, which very tasty but we found dry, my uncle had ham egg chips , which he he enjoyed, although enjoyed the meal not quite as good as previous times, also this time we had a very long wait for our meals, the waitress did apologise she was lovely, mrs Jeannette Gordon.
My daughter & I went to the Rose Garden last Sat 6th July for lunch. We both enjoyed the food very much. We have never had a bad meal there & recommend this restaurant to anyone. The waitress is amiable & attentive & the food is always freshly cooked to order.
Went on Sunday and had the carvery. The meat was beautifully cooked and there were plenty of vegetables. We had a starter and a sweet and both were very nice. I certainly hope to go back.
Great food always a welcome another great visit to the Rose garden
A very enjoyable meal at lunchtime. A very calm atmosphere and pleasant surroundings with friendly and helpful service and delicious food. We will come again.
Great food, excellent service, very friendly and we recommend it.
Food good and service pleasant but v slow. Waited 90 minutes for main course.
Met up with some friends for lunch.Food lovely, waitress very helpful and friendly. Would recommend venue.
This was our first visit and will definitely not be our last. The food was amazing especially for a lunch set menu. The service was exceptional, so efficient polite and friendly. Excellent value for money, we hope to be back soon.
the Rose Garden is a hidden gem. The carvery was absolutely lovely and we had a lovely afternoon. Compliments to the chef and to the staff
Food was lovely however starters were now overly kid friendly for a Father’s Day special menu it would have been good to see either a tomato soup or veggie stock starter for kids
Such a lovely place friendly staff and delicious food the meat is falling apart it is so tender, would definitely recommend.
I tried the indian platter as a starter this time, it was superb, definitely recommend it. Our friends thought the whitebait was really tasty. All our mains were really nice. No room for dessert.
Excellent restaurant, will definitely use again and would recommend a visit
Excellent choice of food. the salmon and prawn parcel for starter is gorgeous. Roast lamb main was just as good as starter.
First time in this restaurant, very good food and excellent service
