Lovely lunch. Only comment was fish cakes could have done with having an extra side for a main (Only came with some spinach). Friendly staff.

Food was good but overall experience underwhelming. Service not up to much and welcome was non-existent. After two trips to the bar we eventually were told where our table was and given menus.

Extremely busy but service friendly and very good , food good value but I did notice someone charging their phone and we nearly tripped over their cable probably something I should have reported at the time! But overall good experience

Such a friendly pub and we were chatting to a man at the bar and mentioning that a good rating for pub food is Peter my husband..when he does not get indigestion after eating pub food..that means it is good food!!! The Rising Sun lived up to his expectations! Alas, out sweet lil waitress forgot to put our order in, which is why we rated the "wait" box badly.BUT it certainly did not ruin our evening and the "boss" was VERY apologetic and gave us a complimentary dessert and coffee.Lovely touch.We now call the pub the "Setting Sun" but next time am sure it become "The Rising Sun"again!!! Very busy today but the staff were coping well, friendly and polite and the food was as delicious as ever. Not the usual warm welcome and we had to ask for menus and grab a passing member of staff to order but there were several large tables demanding attention. Overall, very happy with our visit.

Nice steak and great fish and chips. All served with a smile in a friendly pub!

Super Sunday lunch. Good portions with great variety of Veg

Visited as a family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 children. The roast beef and lamb dinners were fantastic. The children enjoyed their meals too, chicken goujons and sausage and mash. Recommend the lemon roulade for dessert. Would definitely visit if we were in the area again.

A most enjoyable experience. The food was outstanding and the steaks were among the best that I have tasted,

Restaurant was spacious and coped with our large group of 9. We were told our table was free as we arrived but were given time to catch up with a drink at the bar and not hurried. We were given options of table lay out when 2 of our party didn’t arrive. The staff also didn’t make us feel this was a problem. They were calm and flexible. The menu choices were delicious with a starter menu that could be shared or made bigger for main courses. It was a busy restaurant and bar which gave the pub atmosphere. There were a range of age groups using the pub which made it feel vibrant. We used to drink in this pub as young adults in the 90’s and it was great to see the pub still open and being run for the benefit of the village and all who visit. Thank you for a great evening.

Love the rising sun. What more can I say. Always a great lunch and the roast beef is hard to beat!!

You could tell the food had was at the end of the day as the potatoes were quite hard and obviously were a rushed "new batch". I would suggest the position of table 12 isn't the best idea as i spent my whole visit having food lifted over my head or people squeezing past me in my seat you are right by the toilets, adjacent table and the entry/exit to the bar.
