Great location but very chaotic. limited menu is fine and came knowing that but had run out of 2 dishes including vegetarian. No tea at all, no orange juice. Apologetic and friendly staff but clearly a management issue and not a problem solver approach.
Lovely warm welcome. The food was excellent although service a little slow. Some items were missed but quickly rectified when pointed out. Staff very attentive, would definitely visit again.
Unfortunately we had quite a bad experience, I booked a table and asked for a good view of the rugby to watch the match on Saturday. Upon arrival we found out there was no TV sound and you had to hire wireless headphones, unfortunately half the headphones they had for hire didn't work !! We ended up leaving an hour after our arrival.
We had to wait half hour until somebody actually took our order after we went at waited at the bar and we didn't get napkins or cutlery - had to go grab them. The food was tasteless and the tea was served in anplastig jug so you would spill all the hot tea on the table each time you poured it in the glass. They had no souce, ketchup - had to go ask 2 digferent waiters to get some mustard... All in all, nothing was right!
Large rom and nice menu. My friands and I had a very pleasant time ! It may be even nicer to go there in summer to enjoy the large terrace !
Love this place. Chilled atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and good coffee. Perfect location along the canal for a relaxing Sunday breakfast with a few friends.
The staff were so friendly and so much fun. The drinks were high quality and the vibe was fun and modern and meaningful! The menu was a little short for the money but everything else made up for it! Can't wait to try the brunch!
the door/window was kept open which was annoying. we were sitting at a table by a window door. other than that the food was very tasty
No one greets you on arrival and there was no staff to be seen. I went looking for someone and eventually found them. They had no table despite us booking. We were eventually seated and then ignored for 20 minutes before someone brought us menus. We ordered food and drink from a very expensive and limited menu. 45 minutes later the drinks turned up. 15minutes after the food arrived (1 hour after ordering). It was average...especially for the price. We paid using an app so we could leave immediately. Never going back.
Great eatery. Lots of space and friendly atmosphere. The waiter was very attentive and made us feel relaxed. The food and the wine were excellent.
We sat upstairs which was nice and quiet. The waitresses were super friendly and efficient. Food was delicious maybe a tad over priced. Will definitely return
Great brunch, friendly staff and nice views of the canal. I have been many times and will keep going. I would definitely recommend it to others.
Had a really nice breakfast at the Proud Archivist, great, friendly staff and simple but really good food. would advise booking - they seem to get busy.
Busy disorganised and poor minimal menu. Slow service and overlooked meat It's a nice venue but far too many staff wandering round aimlessly Needs tweaking
Great place to meet friends for a drink or two and a burger . Not the best food ever but staff very friendly and nice to sit outside on the canal
Great Location very friendly staff . Lovely to sit by the canal and watch the world go by Food pretty good , Menu for lunch was a little limted , Burgers were quite good , Sald buffet was the best order with various salds and Fritata which was great
The service was awful and the Bloody Mary's were terrible - tasteless and warm. The brunch choice was very limited and the isn't the same menu on the website.
Food is very good, nice location but service is terrible & they don't seem to know what's going on. Shame
Great and very dog friendly- the food was pretty delicious if a little pricey, but nice for a sunday treat! The best place to stop if you're walking along the canal...
Great location, great food and the sun even paid a visit
Good food but not the best service considering there were loads of waiting staff working.
The management is terrible and unprofessional. You should know how to deal with customers and communications. Poor Poor experience. They should know how to deal with problems, but they don't.
We had Sunday lunch here for 4 people. This is a pleasant place to meet up, but unfortunately the service was disorganized, with various members of staff randomly asking for orders and then no staff being available when needed. For example It took 10 minutes and 2 reminders for our drinks to arrive, and parts of the dishes were missing, e.g. no yorkshire puddings with the roast. The food main courses were so-so, although the desserts were good. Disappointing.
Great spot for brunch, the food was good and the place has a really lovely sunny atmosphere. Next time I'll be taking up the prosecco deal and settling in for the day.
Had brunch - Yolk at the proud archivist. Very limited menu but great eggs benedict. Service unfortunately very much in line with other online reviews; basically a mess. Forgetting orders, clearing plates whilst others in party are still eating, no smiles. Optional Svc charge on bill needs debating. Shame that the service doesn't match the food.
lovely food and a great view of the canal . Very trendy! Liked the small choice, all the options seemed excellent. . service pleasant and helpful.
Went for the Brunch + Bubbles deal on Saturday morning and can't praise the staff enough. Service was speedy and super friendly, we were constantly topped up (and generously encouraged to drink as much as we liked!) Food was delicious with no wait. Coupled with the view and atmosphere of the area I will definitely be back, particularly as I am MORTIFIED that my companion and I used an app to pay our bill and in the drunken confusion didn't tip - we'll be back to tip double next time guys!
Service was slow. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks. Our food sat there waiting for at least 10 whilst the serving staff kept ignoring it until the chef came out to bring it to us himself. If that was me working there I'd be embarassed by that. Food itself wasn't great either. Over all: would not go back.
Lovely eggs Benedict and very friendly staff by the canal :)
Great location/atmosphere. Food good. Service could be better, but overall worth a try!
I really, really want to this place to do well. It's a great concept, in a fabulous building and super setting. Sitting down at an outside table, in the sun, with a view of the canal, you're already feeling well-disposed to having a good time. Well, I'm afraid that feeling didn't last too long. On this last occasion (I'd been twice before) over Easter weekend, it wasn't very busy, but the service, although friendly, was so slow. Everything we asked for - drinks, food, the bill - took an age to arrive. Of three dishes ordered, when they eventually came, two were wrong and one was so poor (pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs) that it was returned and the cost removed from the bill. The wait staff seem very nice, but the place is obviously poorly run and needs a shake-up.
Great spot on the canal towpath. Full of hipsters, young families and dogs. The eggs are amazing. We'll be back
Lovely atmosphere and location, right on the canal, not to mention excellent service, delicious coffee and the best eggs I've ever had. I would thoroughly recommend
The food was really excellent, but the service from the wait staff was slow and forgetful
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff are amazing - you feel like you've called round to see your friends and the food, well wow! Just wow! Chicken satay delicious - macaroni cheese with crispy bacon on top is the best I've ever had. Definitely coming back again and again and again. We've come down from Walsall in the West Mids and are staying in Pimlico for the week but we simply don't want to eat anywhere else. thank you so much for a really special start to our week. Love always Claire xx
Went there primarily to see Eliza Doolittle on a Time Out offer and wasn't expecting too much from the venue. Massively surprised when the food turned up, it was superb! I had the mushroom risotto which was wonderfully flavoursome and aromatic and my companion had the fish stew, which was awesome. The quality and quantity of ingredients were excellent and everything was better for being so unexpected. They staff were super helpful with the owner on the floor too, who was great. The only tiny flaw was the wine was over priced at £5 for a 175ml of average vintage, shame.
Sadly most of the Yolk pop-up brunch menu had sold out by the time we got there, but what we ended up getting was perfectly decent and the staff, especially the main manager at the door, were unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Service was a little erratic at times (forgotten menu/dessert orders etc) but always quickly rectified with a smile. The ambience and decor of the venue was definitely the best part- it serves as an exhibition gallery for lots of arty things during the week so the quirky shop, modern colour changing wall panels and spacious airy interiors gave a beautiful contrast to the fun backdrop of boats passing by on Regent's canal. Will be enquiring about booking some tables for a birthday there soon and making an earlier trek for brunch in the hopes of more eggy goodness!
Lovely atmosphere, manager was great. Very slow food service and organisation was bad front of house
Food was good but service was terrible. Won't come back
The food was good (we had chicken liver pate and steak) but poor, slow service and mistakes with the bill made for a very mixed experience.
Inconsistent service. A waiter we had this time generally did not care very much. Food was good and the surrounding amazing
I really love the food at the Proud Archivist/Yolk but there's not that many options on the menu unfortunately. Also I ordered a tea and had to wait 40min for it, even though the waiter apologise they didn't offer to pay for it which was not very kind of them. I'll go back but maybe just for coffee and cake.
Went there with three friends for brunch last Sunday. Service was pretty slow. Although having asked three times, we only got our water and drinks after our food had arrived. They also got one order wrong so my friend had to wait another 10 mins for hers. Portions not all that generous, but food was good in the end.
Yolk @ Proud Archivist = great food, and reasonable service
Incredible Sunday brunch in the most interesting surroundings. Staff accommodated us wonderfully even though we were early for our booking
My fish stew was one of the best I have tasted and I have eaten many on the continent and in the UK. Service was good and friendly. It was my first visit since a small party upstairs in August and I won't leave it so long before the next time.
Delicious 'munchies' menu. Friendly service. Great venue. Really enjoyed our visit.
The Proud Archivist has one of the best location in London, the place looks fantastic inside, the food is incredible and the staff amazing. What else could you want?
The sauce on the eggs Benedict was quite acidic. It had way too much vinegar in it. Other then that it was all beautiful and the service was lovely.
Yummy eggs, fantastic bloody Mary's and a dab location! I'll return!
