Lovely pub with nice decor and a cosy atmosphere. The food was great, especially the vegetarian scotch egg for a starter!

We brought an American friend who was visiting for an authentic Sunday Roast and he loved it, especially as it was on Anthony Bourdain’s show.

Fantastic food and incredible service. The staff were very attentive and friendly and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. The food took a little longer than expected but this gave us a fantastic opportunity to try out the rest cocktails they hadn’t on offer!! Definitely worth a visit, especially for Sunday lunch!

I have not been in a while and with fond memories of great food I suggested visiting friends that we should have dinner there. Before I start on the food I'd like to compliment the service. Both the drinks staff and the food waitress were impeccable in their approach. At least to my taste. Warm and lightbeared. The food however was a let down. My first and second choice was sold out. At 8Om on a Friday. This is early in a dinnerservice for two item to be sold out on a quite small menu. Bad planning from the kitchen. Receiving my third choice main half of it was missing. No sharlottes or artichoke had not added mash to my chicken main I would have been left with a chicken breast with a tea spoon of mushroom and two tea spoons of crispy kale. The chicken was also very dry. As this was a treat from my friends for me putting them up for a few days and I was very tired after 11 hrs of work I didn't want to cause a scene. I would have if I would have opened my mouth last night as I was too tired. That is why I am writing this now. My guests seemed happy with their choices so that was important to me. You have my feedback here. A real dissappointment. They need to sort their kitchen out. Get the planning right.

It was a really lovely place and very good attentive staff but the food was cold - WEn had a roast dinner and I know it was Sunday and busy but it would have been good to have been served food that was hot

Roast beef was quite nice but took a little wait to come out. In fairness the staff had warned about this. Most staff could do with some training on engaging with customers with a fine case being 3 members of staff walking right by when we were waiting to be seated, even a 'someone will be right with you' would have been nice

Overall we enjoyed the meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, the ambience was nice. Generally the food was good. we had a sharing meat plater which was good but I had to ask to find out it was British which in my opinion should have been made more of. Cauliflower fritters lacked flavour but calamari was great. Partners fish was good, as was my steak but the chips were disappointing unlike the French fries. Perhaps some of the slips were due to how busy they were as it was valentine's day. Despite the above criticisms I would go back and recommend to others. David.

Great food (one of the best scotch eggs I’ve ever had) and a fantastic Sunday Roast - if I could make 3 improvements it would be change the herb with the roast veg from fennel to thyme (the aniseed overpowers the veg), cut the beef a touch thicker and the roast potatoes need looking at. But honestly, these are minor details - the staff are exceptional and friendly, the atmosphere is warm, friendly and relaxed and in general the food is top draw. Without a doubt one of the best pubs in London

Seems to have gone downhill unfortunately. Service was pretty bad - we were largely ignored, even though servers were walking back and forth by our table. We waited 30 minutes for them to clear our plates, and they only did when we waved someone over and specifically asked one of the waitresses. Then she didn’t offer dessert or bring the menu over, until again, we waved and specifically asked. At that point, she pulled a face at us. The food was fine for adults, but not for the kids. Mini-sausages were so small that my 7 year old daughter was hungry and we had to ask for more. I was sure to say that they were for my daughter, but annoyingly, they arrived as a bar snack, in a (hot) mini-saucepan and covered in mustard. So we sent those back and again reiterated that they were for my daughter. The second lot arrived without the mustard but still in the saucepan. Similarly, we ordered the kids steamed vegetable - instead we got a mini-saucepan of roasted adult veg, including cabbage and parsnip. I indicated that that was not what was on the menu and the response was “yeah they’re roasted”. There was no substitute offered and we were charged for them despite not eating them. I paid the bill in full as well as service because it was woefully obvious that the staff were just not up to dealing with expressions of dissatisfaction. I felt that had I raised any of this to them, there would have been more face-pulling and blank looks. I won’t be going back despite this having been a local that was well-loved for 10 years.

Beautiful Victorian building along the Uxbridge Roasd. Excellent pub to relax with friends & family. Good choice of ales & wines at the bar. The restaurant is really nice, serving traditional pub fares, pizzas & brunches. The staff is very helpful & friendly. Best pub in the area!

An excellent Sunday Roast at the Princess Victoria on Sunday evening. only 2 downsides; the noisy pub quiz in the main bar - if we'd known we'd have gone somewhere else (although I'd join in another week). and the fact that all the other roasts on the menu had sold out, we only had the option of chicken - but it was amazing & easily the best roast I've ever had locally.

Great atmosphere, amazing food. Bartenders were AWESOME, the hostess was ok.... little cool, but nice enough. She seemed slightly annoyed that we were there? Maybe it was just an off night for her.

Staff were friendly, atmosphere is great and the pub is reasonably priced. The pub itself is really nice and feels homely. Food was good but waiting time was quite long and it wasn't that busy for a Saturday afternoon. Other than it, I will definitely come back and recommend!

Great lunch with friendly bar staff and excellent table service from our lovely waitress and waiter! The food was delicious as always and the atmosphere was particularly welcoming for a grey & dreary Saturday lunchtime. We went as a group of 4 and my friend even insisted on a pimms, so happy she was to be there, and much to her delight was served with a delicious fruit filled glass of summer goodness!

Really unexpected find. Was a little concerned as we walked down Uxbridge road but once inside doubts disappeared. Greta selection of gins. Menu varied enough without overstretching the kitchen or the decider. Went for a Guineas and steak pie. Lovely meat and perfect pastry. Presented well and tasted excellent. Others all so pleased with choices. All platters clean.

Overpriced menu. Average menu. Limited menu. Customer service average. At the end they charge you with charity fee without asking you first. I would not recommend it to anyone. Just an emergency place to eat. I booked this princess Victoria by mistake. There is another Princess Victoria with different menu and outstanding customer service. Once there I thought well, let’s see. It might be good. But it was disappointing. The place was empty. It didn’t feel like a cosy place... a comfortable place. Just cold and empty.

Travelling from Australia we were excited for our first much anticipated Sunday Roast . Overall pretty good. We made a reservation and would rather have been in the dining room than the bar and there were plenty of tables but never mind. Hard to get wait staffs attention so nicked S&P from another table. Roast was good. Very thin slices of roast beef so one more would have been perfect and extra gravy ordered didn't turn up but not bad. Yorkshire pud was very good. veg was like home so excellent, just tight on meat. Two roast meals and two glasses of wine 57 British pounds so close to $100 aus dollars which is a lot for a basic pub roast lunch but maybe thats normal here.

Lovely atmosphere and most food was good - but for the second time of visiting we were served cold, overdone steak after asking for rare. They did change it with no quibbles but of course, the steak-eater was left to eat alone as the rest of us had finished - a real no no.

The dining room has been wonderfully renovated. We went on a Sunday and I was intending to have the fish option but was told this was unavailable. My companions enjoyed their roast meals but considering the price, portions were not that hearty. The experience for me was slightly soured when I saw a box of fresh fish being delivered upstairs!

Had the nut roast on Sunday which tasted okay but the texture was extremely loose. Some more chunky nut and veg pieces would’ve been nice. My husband enjoyed his chicken. The service was good but as I’ve found in _many_ other places there is a lack of knowledge around the fact that many drinks contain animal products.

Not as good as I remember . I ordered a bottle of wine only to be told it did not come by the glass. I may not look flash but the staff treated me as they were more important than me. A receipe for disaster. I paid with my platinum card . They did not know that it was special. So close to being really great . As always you cannot get the staff. Perhaps the manager needs some help. Pity, so close but so far . My loss . Frank

I have visited the Princess Victoria on occasions. This time we came with friends for an impromptu roast dinner. We booked for 5pm and they were able to accommodate. There was no roast chicken left despite them being open for food until 9pm. Friend ordered beef instead. Food enjoyed by all. I had nut roast - last time it was slightly curried in flavour and was very tasty. This time it has changed to a recipe full of walnuts. Tasted better with old recipe in my opinion, but I enjoyed the rest of my meal. Cauliflower cheese could be a bit hotter. Manager seems friendly. Other staff didn't seem to notice our table much. Took 10 mins to take drinks order despite the restaurant area not being full. They didn't seem as friendly as the manager. Great selection of gins. Reasonably priced dinner for 4. Will still return for sure. I enjoy visiting this pub - great decoration and love that dogs are allowed.

Really nice food but the staff are always really unhelpful and unfriendly, apart from one really nice guy who was lovely. It’s now our third time trying and such a shame as it’s our local pub and really want to enjoy it as it’s so nice otherwise. Sorry to have to be so negative.
