Sunday roast, was told the pork came with stuffing but none arrived, apparently it’s a side dish… IN WHAT WORLD! They did give us some, 2 tiny pack balls… Rest of the food was decent though How could you do better? Stuffing is standard with a Sunday roast!

The food was good but my partner's steak and ale pie was a little dry. Whilst gravy was provided she does not like a lot of gravy.

Disappointing, drinks were delivered after later orders, staff paid more attention to lighting and fans than customer service, pastries and batter were burned and left a bad taste in the mouth. Perhaps we were just unlucky, but certainly not as we remembered it from previous visits.

It was a ‘good’ overall evening meal out. It was a Friday evening so was busy and it had a good atmosphere, lots of talking and laughing. As a result the service was understandably a bit slow but acceptable, but still the staff were happy and friendly. The food was good and we left feeling content. We visit Ambleside four times throughout the year on weekends away and always try to eat at The Priest Hole, usually for lunch as it’s become a bit of a ‘tradition’ for us and we look forward to returning again later in the year.

The food was barely warm. The drinks didn't arrive until we were over halfway through our meal and only after reminding the waitress twice. Also they brought a white wine when a Rose had been ordered.

One of Ambleside’s best! The Sunday Roast is a feast and highly recommended. We both had succulent slices of sirloin with mash and roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding was crisp and fluffy. For ‘afters’ rhubarb crumble and extremely creamy custard didn’t disappoint. Great value and we’ll be back next time…

Fourth time we've visited the Priest hole while on holiday in Ambleside. Lovely Sunday Lunch pork and lamb with loads of tender meat and great selection if fresh vegetables. Red wine great too. Main meal so large we couldn't manage a dessert but would definitely recommend a visit to this great restaurant. Great service and staff and would definitely recommend a visit when in Ambleside x

Have eaten here previously and wanted the family to experience the food. So disappointed with the Sunday roast, Meat was dry and difficult to chew, yorkshires were overcooked yet soggy. Won’t be returning.
