Ordered the sirloin of beef which was a big mistake. It was very disappointing as it was very tough and fatty. Service was very slow. Only plus was the nice bottle of wine we enjoyed, won’t be returning

We had the lovliest waiter and waitress. They made us feel very welcome and as we were among the last few people to leave, we had a great chat at the bar and found out some history of the building. Very interesting. Will definitely visit next time we're over that way.

The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was good. The steaks were average which is a bit of a shame as they were great last time we went a year ago

We loved our visit to The Priest Hole! On a rare night away from our little ones it was such a treat to have such a gorgeous meal in a gorgeous restaurant! We went on Thursday which was steak night and we were not disappointed! Cooked to our very differing specifications and generous Lake District portions! The cauliflower pakora and beetroot/goats cheese starters were excellent and we ended with delicious desserts! The tram were warm and welcoming and it was an experience we would gladly return for! Thanks the Nicola and all the team!x

great food and service as always, had choices off the Sunday menu only, would of liked a choice of sandwiches or more lighter bites as i wasn't particularly hungry at the time. Overall the food was lovely though,

Very attentive staff, lovely food, great setting. The note about food intolerance in the booking hadn't been passed on but they were able to guide us as to what on the menu would fit that need. It was busy so we had to wait a little longer for food but it was OK. We had a lovely time.

Staff were lovely and we enjoyed our food and wine. Our only complaint was that the steak was overdone for medium rare but a deduction was made to the bill which was appreciated. Will happily visit again.

We had a reservation & we were seated promptly. We each ordered the Sunday roast-I had the pork & my husband had the lamb. Both were very good, although some of the pork was a bit dry.

Visited for Sunday roast lunch and it was really great. The food was super tasty, both the beef and pork were lean and delicious along with the veg and crispy potatoes - the cauliflower cheese side is a must too! Great local ales, friendly atmosphere and staff (Yasmine was really engaging and told us about the history of the Inn) made it a really pleasant visit. All round good value and would highly recommend…

It was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. My wife loved her hamburger too. Our waitress was friendly and quickly corrected a mistake she had made on our order. We wish we lived here and could go back again, but we’re visiting from the States.
