We had fun evening sitting in the garden area . I have yummy steak and some nice red wine with friends .
Really welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, great food for a large group.
Disappointing service this time and the Food was underseasoned. Have been before and it was much better.
The Pear Tree is an old pub. It has charm and potential, but is also very rickety and needs some investment and updating. The chairs were uncomfortable. The ladies toilet was awful. Heavy ingrained smell - not just from it being dirty, but from it being old dirty. It needs to be renovated and refreshed. The service was non existent. Despite having booked for my friends 45th and asking for a table by the fire, which was free, this request was ignored and I had to argue with the guy as he put us on the worst table. The three young staff members working were all but useless. They were inattentive and talking amongst themselves - making customers wait. Their attempt at local pub folksy charm was not successful. One of the girls kept calling me ‘darling’ in a condescending voice which I found more than irritating. Despite there being 3 staff, only one was serving, I had to wait for ages any time we wanted something. It would have taken a second for one of the others to have served, helped out, cleared the queue. The guy literally stood in front of me drying glasses while I stood there waiting, watching him. He finished off what he was doing then asked what he could get me. Like why didn’t he just serve me straight away. The place was quiet. The glasses could have waited a few moments while he served me first. Drinks took ages, I had to chase them up when they failed to bring them over once. There was no table service, despite having a tab set up and it being quiet, and even that was harder than it had to be as there was a separate bar and food tab - so I had to pay for them separately, I couldn’t just pay one bill!? Another annoyance. Food was ok. But nothing to write home about. I won’t be coming back. I love supporting local and independent pubs, but it just wasn’t a nice experience. The only upside was that because it was so quiet, we weren’t rushed out the door as soon as we had finished eating. But I still wouldn’t come back.
Great Sunday lunch! We were a group of 18 with adults and children. The staff were really accomodating and friendly. The food was really delicious and there were no mistakes with the orders. Would highly reccomend!
Lovely ambience in this small pub, great food, drinks and service! A new favourite for me!
This pub claims to be a “gastropub”. It clearly is not. After making a reservation for a table, we were initially seated at a very low sofa, and only moved to a proper table after we protested. The food was very ordinary pub level food - nothing gastro about it. Very ordinary fish and chips with frozen peas - for GBP 15. Not good value at all. The staff were pleasant but disorganized.
Good atmosphere and the sunday night quiz made it more fun.
Very disappointing food having been recommended to visit, but the staff and service were excellent.
Very welcoming, good food, good service, good value for money
Really enjoy the atmosphere in this place! Plenty of veggie/vegan options, friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. Well worth dropping in for a glass of wine relaxing on the sofa!
I had a lovely time. The staff were really attentive. I look forward to going back soon!
The place was scruffy, dirty and uncomfortable. The bar takes up most of the space. It’s a Fulham pub - not a restaurant. The meal was poor swimming in greasy gravy with frozen veg.
Great as usual! Great food and drinks, will definitely come back
Great food in a quaint pub. Perfect location for some food before the boat race!
Completely understated place but the food was amazing (I had mushroom ravioli with a light pesto cream) and the staff were so lovely. Definitely recommend.
Lovely homely location and the food was tasty. I think the website suggests it’s a little bit more formal, but on a cold wintry night, it’s perfect! Really lovely team too.
The food here is excellent with superb vegan options. The staff are very friendly and the layout of the bar means they are always nearby. They also have board games in the back meaning it is a good choice for families.
Very nice atmosphere in this independant old Fullham pub. May it remain independant! Really excelent food, good beer and pleasant service. I will surely return.
A rare gem..! We've been customers for 9 years & they've never let us down. Great food & choice of wine, spirits, draft ales etc. A major plus for us, my partner a carnivore my being vegan. The choice on menu from starters, mains & desserts/pudding caters for all. I had the vegan burger Gorgeous! My partner had sirloin steak Gorgeous! We come for the atmosphere which is a a family run pub, not a chain, eclectic & boho. Lovely landlord Daz, great staff, service all happy to have a chat & cater to each diners taste. Mid range pricing which reflects the food & clientele which is well worth a visit. Please support family run pubs like The Pear Tree.
The food was not anywhere near as good as it was used to be unfortunately. Used to have a Sunday roast there. Shame as it is my local.
Went there for the pub quiz only to find out there was no pub quiz despite it still be on the website and other pub quiz in London sites.
Had a great time, really friendly staff who were really accomodating. We had a problem with food that was sorted right away, and when it took a little longer than they thought they gave us extra chips to make up for the wait (the food was also great, I had the burger and it was delicious). Lovely atmosphere and would definitely go back. Also really reasonably priced!
There were building works going on which meant we couldn't sit in the pub due to the noise level. Someone could have contacted me beforehand to let me know about this as contact details were provided when I booked. I don't think it's fair to add on a 12.5% service charge when food and drinks are ordered at the bar rather than table service. Customer service was abrupt. Food was satisfactory- think it's misleading to call yourself a gastropub.
Great pub atmosphere and nice staff. Good beer and wine selection and friendly crowd. Food was good, not fine dining but good and it came out quickly.
The food was hit and miss and the service was not terrible. Starters and main courses all arrived together, some of the food was good (goat's cheese salad) but some was terrrible, we had chips that had been re-fried - we had the general impression that they weren't expecting to do food, even though we'd booked for dinner, and checked it was ok to eat outside. Garden is very shabby and in need of some TLC.
Always good food and a great roast. Staff are always friendly and atmosphere is never too loud or noisy so you can talk over lunch without shouting
Very good service. Good choice of rose and red wine. Lovely hand cut chips and scotch eggs. Interesting wasabi nuts. Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
Great service and the best roast! The lamb was delicious and all the sides were perfect. Big Yorkshire pudding and lots of gravy! I also had the sticky toffee pudding with cream and ice cream which was very yummy. They welcomed our dog and gave her a little water bowl as well.
We had a lovely meal at The Pear Tree. It’s a great little pub with personality, decent drinks selection and good value roasts. Would definitely recommend.
Great pub, great food, great beer, great music. The place is almost 200 years old and true to its British heritage. Would definitely recommend it.
The Moroccan Lamb dish was delicious. The staff were friendly and our dogs were made very welcome. Altogether a positive experience from our first visit.
Went for Sunday lunch. The vegetables for our roast was nice but the beef was the worst we've had. Service was poor -- they didn't even ask whether we wanted any horseradish with our beef-- but they still charged 12.5% service. We wanted to have pudding but they were short staffed and had to wait a long time to be served so we just got the bill and went to Cafe Nero.
A little gem. Great food and atmosphere and hope to be back.
We used to love the pear tree. It's a lovely place with fire places etc. Since the pub has been taken over the food is truly awful and the service extremely slow. Something as simple as tomato soup and bruschetta with goat cheese was messed up. The place was empty for Sunday lunch which says it all!
Wonderful individual, local pub, always a pleasure to spend an evening at the Pear Tree. Very good dinner last night, great quality food. Service friendly as always.
A friendly local pub offering excellent Sunday roasts. Every time I visit the food of a great quality and the service is friend and efficient.
A lovely pub tucked away, the service was excellent and food very tasty. Good value and we will definitely return when we're in that area.
Very welcoming authentic pub. Cozy with a real wood fireplace Tasty well made roasts with a wide selection for everyone. Very accommodating. One of the better pubs in London
Fantastic Christmas Day lunch. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The whole experience was very enjoyable. Everything was of a high standard.
Love Pear Tree and the people that work there. Christmas lunch was beautiful, amazing food and atmosfere. Will come back very soon with the family.
the pub is lovely and the staff nice but we wanted to eat we were told that there was a backlog in the kitchen so we could only have chips as bar staff could not prepare food we had 4 bowls of chips
This is a great Victorian pub in Barons Court. The food was good, staff are nice and friendly, and it has a very nice atmosphere.
Great cosy pub, hidden behind Charing Cross hospital & Queens Club. Open fireplaces, in and out, very friendly staff, and a hearty Sunday roast. Highly recommended.
The food was not good meat really fatty and veggies overcooked. And service not good either. No money of Bill despite food not being good.
Lovely restaurant with a warm, homely feel. Staff were excellent and extremely friendly. Food was amazing quality and also a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend.
Great place to have a Sunday roast and we already came couple of times, very tasty food, especially great steak! Would like to come more.
Great food and service, the bar staff were friendly and good fun. The ambiance is good, although last night there was a drunk man who should probably have been asked to leave earlier. When they did it though they were firm and good natured with him.
Great location , great Sunday roast for £10. I would happily return it has a cosy warm interior with very friendly staff. It's a happening place !
It's a very good pub in classic surroundings. Candles always add to the atmosphere. Very nice people. Food is delicious. Love the hand cut chips. Good selection of drinks. Very good place to meet up after work or just to have drinks with few friends.
