When we first arrived we had to wait a long time to be served at the bar. This was due to there being one lady who was trying to manage the bar and the restaurant bookings too. Not her fault. More staff required in order to offer reasonable customer service. This same young lady ended up serving us at the bar, seating us at our table, serving us throughout the evening and while being obviously rushed off her feet, waited on us in a very friendly, professional manner with a smile and pleasant demeanour. The food was ok - none of us felt it was anything special or out of the ordinary. On our table for 5 there was only 1 knife and fork and 1 serviette. We had to help ourselves from another table as our food had been brought to us but without cutlery. We had a pleasant evening but it is quite clear that the staff are over stretched and this is not fair on them or on the customers. I would go to the Old Thatch again but it would not be my first choice. 100%, top marks to the lovely young lady who served us though.

Came for a birthday lunch. Food was nice and had a good couple of vegan choices. We asked for the heating to be turned on and our request was met. The two girls serving us were very sweet and friendly.

we went for the fish Friday deal and were not disappointed - the beer batter was so light - even my husband who rarely eats fish enjoyed the meal. thank you

Tuesday evening for Hot Rock night. Amazing value and quality

The restaurant was cold at lunchtime and for this reason we left immediately after finishing our food. Service very slow, drinks order was forgotten, restaurant almost empty therefore no atmosphere.

The restaurant was a midpoint for us to meet with friends but proved to be much better than just convenient. Service was simple and spectacular with all the staff readily available, friendly, informative, knowledgeable and never intrusive. The food was excellent (apart from bread being a bit hard) and the prices reasonable. We will definitely be back.

8 adults 3 children all accommodated well. Only criticism would be we were sat in the dark as no window or lamp nearby. Had to use phone touch to read the menu.

This was our first visit for over a year as we were not very impressed the first time. We heard that it had changed management so we thought we would give it a try. Wow!! What a transformation. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again. Well done!!!

Lovely evening and delicious meal! We all enjoyed our meal - carnivores and veggies alike. And plenty of choice for all on the menu. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We would definitely return to The Old Thatch!!

First time visit and was not aware of limited menu on Sunday evenings. 3 out of 4 people ordered hunters chicken but chicken was over cooked and rather dry and a job to cut. Would have liked more barbecue sauce possibly served in small jug as chips were also dry. Only had main course so cannot comment on any other dishes. Would try restaurant again but weekdays when more choice on menu.

Good food and service but a little quiet although it was Monday

Great carvery for me perfect turkey and huge Yorkshire pudding. My husband had whole Plaice and he said it was perfect. Dessert Tarte au citron with berries and cream delicious. Only thing they need to change is the gluten free crumble as apparently it is just almond dust and lots of people did not like it so do a normal crumble and they will be on a winner

Good beer,great food, the liver and bacon was very tasty and good value.

as always a great place to have a lovely meal, cooked fresh.
