Lovely food and great service as well. Very homey, would recommend.
Food was amazing and the service was spectacular - cant recommended this place enough! Had red curry and red wine chicken wings! Really good prices too
The Old Siam is a beautifully decorated little restaurant at Newcastle quayside. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to your needs. The food is beautiful. 2nd visit in a month will definitely be returning.
The food was great and the service was excellent. The place is lovely, clean, bright and tastefully decorated, and I had a great time. Thanks
Really good quality food, service was excellent and everything was reasonably priced! Would definitely recommend the both Chef's special Massaman Kae and the sharing starter.
Excellent service waitresses quietly in background waiting if needed ,food as always exceptional and would certainly recommend the gang panang curry.Reasonable prices so go and enjoy
Excellent meal good service . Authentic flavours. Great choice on the menu . Very reasonably priced for the position on the quayside . Would visit again
We are lucky to have an Old Siam in York where we live and eat there regularly so when in Newcastle with a party of 10 we booked in the Newcastle venue. Lovely restaurant on two floors, very professional staff and the food was fantastic as usual for 9 of us, one guy ordered steak and it was not that good, we didn't complain at the time as the rest was outsainding, maybe an off night with the steak. Never the cheapest, however you pay for what you get, quality !! We would be straight back next time we are in town, thank you.
Amazing food and the service from the staff is second to none. Couldn't fault any aspect of the meal and will Be back next time we are in Newcastle.
Excellent food and service. Lovely restaurant, great choice of dishes and excellent value for money on the lunchtime special menu. Only criticism is the restaurant was freezing cold!
Great service for a large party of 9 even after a few were late due to traffic. Food was delicious and well priced. Couldn't fault anything!
Great food as always. Pleasant service. Good authentic Thai food that is reasonably priced. I have never had a bad experience in this restaurant. Recommended
The 3rd time my partner and I have visited and each time ordered the banquet for 2... absolutely out of this world! Each dish so delicious and the friendly staff are just lovely. Highly recommend this place.
Me and my party of 6, we were all very happy with our meals and will be looking to return. Great service, great authentic food. Only comment was the door opened numerous times through our meal which let in a very cold draft.
Fantastic food at a really good value for money and lovely friendly service. Never disappointed! We ordered stir fry, curries and had starters, and all was cooked beautifully, the lamb was especially good!
Good service, but not over fussed. Good quality food. Booked online, but the restaurant called back within 15 mins and asked if we could go 15 mins later than originally booked.
Always great food and prices here. Lovely meal last night. Friendly staff, love the Thai beers. Will be back again very soon. Highly recommend this place
We arrived and were quickly seated. The restaurant is over 2 levels although neither room was exceptionally big. Drinks and food order was taken. Service in between courses was a little slow and sometimes we felt like we were missed out. An example being everyone got prawn crackers...we didn't. Food itself was ok. Had a platter to start with which was tasty. Mains were generous...perhaps not as flavoursome as would have liked. Just hot in spice! Lovely location and staff were friendly. Not sure I'd go back again but glad I've been.
Lovely food, accommodating with requests. Was a bit of a wait between starters and main course. Really good value as always. The only Thai we recommend in Newcastle.
Delicious food, good wine and lovely staff - it was a busy night and they probably could have done with more staff on duty but otherwise couldn't fault it.
Tables are a bit space constriant, we were 5 people but had a table for 4, a bit crowded. Other than that, food is good
Wonderful friendly welcome as usual! Food absolutely delicious, prompt friendly service, staff above and beyond service always with a smile. Would recommend anyone to try this fab restaurant.
Excellent food and the staff were great, good selection of food on the menu and reasonably priced, definetily be back the next time we are in Newcasle
Delightful food, great service and a great location. Food was to a very high standard, beautifully cooked and flavoured with perfect portions. Will definitely recommend and revisit.
Ordered the 'banquet' for 4. Absolutely superb food, very attentive and obliging service. We did find the drinks somewhat on the expensive side but that didn't detract from a very enjoyable evening, we shall return.
The best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand, and great friendly service to go with it. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend a visit!
A great location for a delightful restaurant. Fantastic food, great service and atmosphere at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and will dine there again in the future.
Lovely restaurant in great location. Very friendly staff as well. Menu was good with a lot of choice. Starters were gud spicy fish cakes (could have been spicier) & tom yum soup. Mains were excellent, lots of taste, lots of flavour & really good value for money. We would return.
I had booked the table on line, asking for a quiet table upstairs. Everything turned out perfect. We ordered a set meal for three, so that we could try a selection of different dishes. Highly recommended, great food and well presented. The very attentive staff helped to make this a memorable evening. Well done "Old Siam" George Taylor
Great food and service. I have been on several occasions and never disappointed. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and it's a great location
Always have an amazing time here. The food is amazing! I'm a fan of Set Menu A and the chicken skewers are to die for!
Food was very good. Staff were alright but could have been friendlier. We would definitely go back though, as we had a fun time there.
Always amazing food and great service. We eat here often as there is a good selection on the menu with vegetarian options. Amazing flavours 5*
Went there with 3 friends and had a great time - the food was excellent (went for the banquet), the staff friendly, would thoroughly recommend!
We have been here many times over the years. It is still good, but not as good as we remember it. I think the term "stir fry" is a bit misleading because a lot of the stir fry dishes are basically meat (or fish) but very little by way of vegetables, just some cucumber and decorative carrot. I think they need to improve this. The flavours are good.
The staff were very friendly and gave us warm welcome. Starters were lovely however, the main course was average and we found that desert was disappointing.
We couldn't fault the food or the service, we opted for the £23.50 per person banquet for 2 people. Prices overall were very reasonable for good food.
Very friendly staff, best red curry I've had. Also had a pad Thai with chicken separate which was very authentic and tasty. Would certainty recommend
Good choice of meals. The staff were helpful and professional. The food itself was absolutely delicious and I am planning to go back on a regular basis. Highly recommended.
Friendly & attentive staff. Good quality food. Nice ambience. My wife & I had tasty chicken satay starters. I recommend the king prawns in garlic & pepper. My wife's coconut rice was lovely.
Went with my partner for our Anniversary as was visiting from Manchester. I tried to order off specials menu, I pointed at the seafood item I wanted to waitress, was then corrected on my pronunciation and had the dish explained to me. Then when a chicken dish I didn't want or ordered came to table I was told it was my fault the order was incorrect due to my pronunciation. The fact I actually pointed at the item I wanted seemed to be totally forgot and as result i felt slightly humiliated and belittled. They did offer to replace my dish but no such offer was made in relation to my partners meaning their dish would have been stone cold by the time my replacement was brought to the table. Needless to say I thought our Anniversary dinner was ruined not to mention rushed as the whole time frame from being seated to vacating was 50 minutes. We will never return
Excellent food and service, great location and a nice ambiance in the restaurant. A must if you like Thai food and are in the Newcastle area.
Excellent food, drink and service. Somewhat shabby chic environment but this didn't deter from overall enjoyment. We were only a small party of 3 diners but staff were coping admirably with a large group in a cramped but busy restaurant.
Very pleasant staff and amazing food. I ordered the special lamb shank and it was very tender and just melted off the bone. We tried the Thai wine what was a nice accompaniment to the meal
Food was beautiful staff were friendly couldn't ask for anything else . Definatly recommend and I will be coming back. Very good prices as well .
Great food and service. Lovely night. Had soft shell crab, prawn toast and prawn spring rolls. Followed by sea bass in spicy sauce and prawn massman curry.
Great food, excellently helpful staff. Eight over 60s men had a very good night some sharing a banquet and others on the a la carte menu. All highly satisfied.
Excellent food, great value and attentive but not overbearing service - faultless ! Looking forward to a revisit next time we are in Newcastle. We booked but they were managing to accommodate people without bookings
Good service, lovely authentic food. Just like back in Thailand! It's a bit of a climb up the stairs but was lovely to see into the kitchens which are almost on the stairs. The real deal! 😄
This place was a really good food place, I'd highly recommend this to someone I l inked and someone I didn't chase it's just that good.
