The New Wellington

Went on 1/2 price Monday, recommended, good food and friendly staff.

Service was rubbish, didnt get us any menus. Reserved a table for 2, and got a table right up the corner with a broken chair. The table behind was to close - we moved our table as far as we could, but the others on their table had to move theirs, as there was a pregnant lady who couldn't get in or out. We had the wellie burger it was to overcooked and hard not very nice. All the wellie burger is, a burger on the bun with the littlist bit of lettuce - no flavour at all. We had to ask for sauce, and she came back with sachets. Once we finished our meal we went to the toilet as did the chef, she had a poo and did not wash her hands🤢. I wouldn't recommend to anyone - waste of money.

Best carvery I've had in a long time. Meat melted in my mouth, plenty of vegetables to chose from. You can also have more than 1 Yorkshire pudding unlike most other places you have a carvery.

Fantastic food , great value for money and friendly staff. Please book in advance very popular place to eat especially the carvery.the best carvery around Brierley hill area.

Really good food at reasonable prices with efficient service. We had to hunt for menus as not clear when we were greeted that it was order at the bar . Overall we will definitely be going back .

Friendly welcome, prompt service and delicious food in attractive surroundings. We visited on a Monday when there is a half price menu available. 2 mixed grills (beef, gammon, pork, sausages, egg, mushrooms, black pudding, onion rings, chips and tomato), 1 chicken burger, chips and salad, 1 pint of beer and 2 soft drinks for around 22 quid. Bostin!

This is the second time I have visited and on both occasions the food and service from the staff have been great,I will definitely be visiting again.

First visit. Food was excellent and so much variety. Only thing was the sprouts were cold. Just wish I had left room for a dessert 🤭

I've been to the New Wellington a few times now since its re furb usually its been really good for both service and food quality, however on this occasion I felt it fell short,. The food was lukewarm the meat which has always been plentiful was quite sparse and the pork was so overcooked as it was being carved just crumbled into bits. I've found this with other establishments in the past when they open its all singing and dancing, but then I think they become either over confident or complacent and very quickly standards drop. I shall be giving the wellington a break for a while and hopefully it gets back to how it was

We were very surprised at the number of other customers that were there as the car park was 3\4 full wind was a good sign. Our pre booked table was waiting, very good as well. The only down side was that we had to wait for eggs and toast, we got the impression that the chef was new and wasn’t prepared for the number of customers. However we will go again.

The meat was good and most of the veg was very good but not hot enough ,in fact it was lukewarm .The pub itself is ok but i wouldnt want to sit by the bar area if we went again .

We all had the carvery and the food and service were excellent. Lovely atmosphere and would recommend to family and friends. Tried the house cider for the first time and it was delicious.

Great Sunday carvery lunch, all food and service were excellent. All hot and freshly cooked make sure you book as it gets very busy on Sundays.

Our table was ready when we arrived. Good atmosphere' comfortable seating. Polite staff. Food was tasty, nice and hot. A very good choice on the carvery. Really enjoyed it. Will definitely return.

Very busy pub but not the best quality of food to what I’m used to from there wouldn’t go again for breakfast but would for caravel

Enjoyed our carvery...choice of 4 meats and so many vegetables to choose from....staff very friendly..stayed to watch entertainment Animators .....overall brilliant night out. Will definitely return...soon.

For carvery I give full marks EVERY TIME but Monday we decided to try something off the deals menu. We had the heavily discounted mixed grill but found the chips were too dry without sauce, the gammon was very salty and the sausage lacked flavour. Neither of us tried the black pudding but meat wise that was nicely done. There was plenty on the plate and if you added sauces, salt, pepper then it will vastly alter the taste but I prefer to have my food plain and tasty. I can’t recommend the carvery enough and will stick to that happily. Staff are lovely so are cleanliness levels, drink options and atmosphere. We love this place just not that 1 meal this time. Please note we are always too full for pudding.

Great food will defiantly be back again and have already recommended to others. Pub could do with a refurb and refills on the coffee and tea please

We have visited a few times now. Food is always piping hot and tastes fantastic. The choice of vegetables in The carvery is fab and always well stocked. Breakfast is also incredible value for money. Staff are friendly and courteous. We will definitely be back.

Reservations was very easy , very organised to get table . Only problem was the que to actually get food .

Great variety of vegetables, devious gravy! My favorite cavery around the area. Was very sad to see the park lane tavern go, glad they moved the carvery to the Wellington.

the beef was the best I have had in a long time, lovely friendly staff as always.

Enjoyable meal was very nice. Had to wait a long time for the food but worth the wait. Dessert everything l chose was not available but what l had was alright.

Always lovely place to eat at friendly staff , lovely clean atmosphere, bit of a wait for some bits but it's a busy pub so you have to expect it.

Visited here after a personal recommendation. Far superior to the big name chains - whilst remaining competively priced. Staff were friendly and it was a bar service rather than at the table, which saved a wait at the end. The pub could do with a bit of redecoration but wasn't in a bad state. The food was of good quality, and plenty of choice (three meats, + Veg option, potatoes 4 ways, all the typical veg). Seemed to be no restrictions on the Yorkies, but 1 was plenty for me, and crispy. Only one flavour of gravy, but tasty and complementary to the meal, whichever meat you chose. Accidentally added a spoon of horseradish to my plate thinking it was bread sauce! However, it was the best horseradish I ever tasted. Whilst it had heat it did not kill the flavour of the meat which I often find with Colemans or other carveries. It is a carvery, not posh-nosh, but it's damn fine carvery fare!

First timer and Great food, staff and value for money. Clean and tidy place and would recommend to friends and family. Will definitely be back for another visit!

service was very poor had to wait over 15 miniute’s just for the meat to be cut as the restaurant was too busy cutting meat for takeaway meals! not good service when you have paid to eat in but the priority is clearly takeaway

Always love going to The Wellington, I’m veggie so massive range of veg to choose from and they make me veggie gravy up every time xx

Had a lovely Christmas Eve meal .Food was fab .Loads of choice and big portions too .We had surf and turf,farmhouse chicken,sirloin steak and gammon all meal where red hot too .Which I like .Good selection of drinks also .Would definetly recommend 😀👍🏽
