Slow service but excellent meal, reasonably priced. Rolo cheesecake was divine!

First time at the Lancaster Arms for years. Saw it had been refurbished on Instagram. Wonderful welcome and very friendly staff Food was nice but lacked presentation. Whitebait starter was nicely cooked but had only rocket garnish and no lemon. A main meat items sold out early in a Saturday night so not great for meat lovers. The special menu beef casserole came with bread. Was ok, not enough juices to mop up with bread and it lacked colour. A side of greens or some herbs would have brightened the plate up. Certainly give it another try in case it was a one off

I visited today for lunch, with my partner and a friend, a treat for her birthday. Lovely food, welcoming and lovely staff, great place, no negative points whatever. Carry on doing things as you do, and many thanks for a great lunchtime experience!

We went on Valentine’s Day for a romantic meal. The service was great and the food nice. The food portions were very large and the spaghetti in the seafood pasta was slightly over cooked. The noise from a table of 12 or more people that were there for the comedy night were so loud. Once they had gone, the atmosphere was perfect. But maybe a clash of events? Would definitely visit again.

Dinner was quite cold and the meat was very ropey, staff were nice, venue okay.

Booked a table for 7 for Sunday lunch and it was superb. The meats were delicious and cooked perfectly, the Yorkshire puddings were beautiful and the unlimited roast potatoes & veg (with gravy and cheese sauces) were delicious. Service was super friendly without being intrusive and overall a perfect Sunday afternoon!

Terrible Food and overpriced I was so disappointed today at the Sunday lunch especially as I had eaten here before with no problems. As usual the staff were attentive however when we were asked how the meals were and we said disappointing, there was no apology or an offer of a discount. To sum up for £15 each we had dry turkey, rock hard roast potatoes, hard vegetables, hard stuffing and Yorkshire puddings. The fish and chips at £14 was ok but the chips did not taste freshly made. My poor 82 year old mother who has false teeth was unable to eat her roast dinner so had to share my fish. We have eaten a better roast for less where she’s managed the whole lot so I know the food was not edible. I hope this was a one off but I’m certainly not returning or recommending.

Newly refurbished pub serving gorgeous food. Made very welcome and had a lovely evening.

I think this place will be very nice once the decorating etc is finished (due 30th Nov 2019). When we visited the restaurant was cold and uninviting. The food was nice. The choice of gins fantastic!

Delightful staff who served us and enjoyed the wine but the food was the worst we’ve eaten in years. Nothing tasted fresh and was poorly presented. Not surprisingly, the restaurant was empty. Goodness knows what kind of ‘chef’ would present such dreadful food.

We always enjoy our visit to the Lancaster We love the place and it’s feel However we were very sad to hear that they are stopping the carvery. We waited a while to be seated but eventually the food was enjoyable So overall a good visit.

service was a little slow considering we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Friday lunch and we had pre-booked but the staff was lovely and so was the food. Would definitely go back.

Lovely pie, good pastry and beautiful lean chicken inside but Chips were a bit over cooked...

Second visit won't. be my last. The food is good the service is faultless the pub is nice, and if all that isn't enough the prices are reasonable.

Our booking was for 1 00pm, table wasn't ready, no problem short wait, pleasant staff. After ordering we waited an hour for our main course, two starters came quite quickly with one child lunch, the other two children ordered from main menu but a wait of this time was unacceptable. sorry but will not be returning.

We 5 ladies thoroughly enjoyed our lunch outside in the sunshine. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We shall definitely be going again.

I have never in my life walked out of a place before and refused to pay as I am not a complainer. Chicken starter was on a shredded bed lettuce with a few other bits. We then waited for about half an hour for the mains. No cauliflower rice as advertised for the chilli. My mate ordered medium steak. It was rare at best, taken away for redoing and not much better. Are mushrooms with a steak supposed to be black and crispy. I dug the chef out and told him it was the worse meal out I have ever had and we refused to pay. NEVER EVER VISIT THIS PLACE IT IS AWEFUL
