No atmosphere (only 2 other tables full) and very limited selection of food. Nevertheless one of the specials had ' sold out'. How is that even possible?

Very nice people, food was ok but not extraordinary when I visted. The place was also a bit cold...the weather had been bad after days of good weather, so the heating was off, but I didn't feel fully at ease with a shirt

Excellent wine, the 2013 Malbec, which was value for money. The food was good too, both vegetarian options and the onglet steak. Pleasant location too.

Fantastic food and wine! Service was appalling. Rushing us to order, taking our plates away before we were done! It's a shame as the tuna was fantastic and great wine by the glass to pair with food choices!

Elegant food and an extensive wine list. The seared scallops with cauliflower were cooked to perfection and the Sea Bass with Potobello mushroom purée and braised cabbage was delicious. Highly recommended.

We love this place! It's so laid back. The wine is great and so is the food and the staff is very friendly. We've held several school events there as well as just social and I always love the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

A little overpriced for what it's worth. The restaurant has an appealing upscale and relaxed feel to it. Asking one of the servers for their opinion on wine (she knew next to nothing) I was passed to the manager who was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very willing to let me sample a few before committing - I though this was a very nice touch. Unfortunately it was clear that his recommendations were only being made from the most expensive end of the wine list. The same applied to food. Overall: good wine, pleasant food, nice setting, and good service.....but, too expensive, particularly if you accept any recommendation

Excellent service and a simple but good selection of food to choose from well cooked and nicely presented. Good advice regarding what wines would work well with our food

We arrived early on a Friday evening and the place was surprising Lynn empty. But despite it being empty and despite there being a lot of staff, the service was appalling. No eye contact, no checking if we needed anything. We had to wave and call in an empty bar to get any service. A shame as it could be so good!

Great atmosphere, fabulous food, delish wines. Can't fault it! Off to the Royal Albert Hall? It's a very pleasant 20 minute stroll from the Kensington Wine Bar to your show. We will book here every time we are in the area.

The wine dispensing machines are a great idea and make it fun to try a few different wines in an evening. You need to top up a card but if you don't spend it all they can give you the money back (or keep the card for next time!)

The first course of crab arrived looking rather like "Wine bar food " very tasty and very well made. Lovely fresh crab but poor presentation. For main courses two of our party of six shared a Chateaubriand steak which was cooked rare and absolutely perfect. I have seen Chateaubriand written on Menus as Chateaubrian ha ha and with cooking worse than the spelling. No-this was a great piece of meat cooked to perfection. I sampled a piece as my two friends could not finish the generous portion.. I and my partner both had Duck. Slightly too rare for me but a nice portion with a good cherry sauce which was not over sweet. The other two had lamb which looked great and was well presented and garnished. We had sides of tempura courgette with an aioli dip and sautéed new potatoes. Both great and I especially liked the tempura courgette which I have not had before. No room for puddings so we finished with Coffee. £390 for 6 or £130 per couple. A bit pricey for a wine bar but then it is Kensington and the food is restaurant quality. The price was bumped up by the wines where there is not really anything worth drinking under £30 per bottle which is on the high side. We had 2 bottles of a South African Pinot Noir which was well served and well presented.

The chef seemed a little out of his league, trying to be more fancy than skillfull. the floor staff were lovely, the wine is great, but the food really missed the mark.

Very poor & slow service, and when our meals eventually arrived all dishes were cool at best! Over priced for what we'd got, and the waiter never even offered us a coffee when we mentioned the cold food. It took 3 hours to serve two courses. I've eaten here on a number of times and always good, but after last night we will not be returning or recommending the Kensington Wine Rooms

Very loud restaurant and bar, table was wet from wine when we arrived to eat. Not convinced starter was intended to be served cold, and bread appeared as we were finishing our mains. Dessert was delicious. Overall we ended up spending excessively for a rather simple meal. Service poor, waiter was decidedly inattentive. Female toilets didn't have toilet paper, and it appeared they were using watered down soap to save pennies. Wouldn't eat here again.

As ever the wine by the lass concept is great but often let down by the quality of the food. On this occasion the service also let it down as our waiter just didn't seem to get what the job involved. I'm sure I'll go back but food is never the top of the list if I do.

The food and wine were fantastic, but the service definitely let it down considerably. Food was slow, some food ordered never came and the waiter seemed disinterested and mumbled. I would, however, still return as the food was so good.

I had been to Kensington Wine Rooms once before and was very impressed but sadly this visit did not live up to my expectations. We both ordered the duck asking for it not to be too pink but unfortunately it was very pink, table water was not very nice and the toilets were disgusting. One toilet didn't have a seat and the other, no toilet roll and bin was over-flowing. It was extremely busy so this may be the reason but not sure I will rush back.

Busy night, having said that the service was a little too inattentive. After more than 10 minutes at the table I had to ask for the menu and some water. Hard to get a waiter's attention throughout the night. Food was ok, good selection of wine by the glass though prices were a little steep.
