Excellent customer service the owner is always warm and friendly as we were the only ones in there he sat and chatted with us so we felt fully relaxed and comfortable. Food as always was amazing some of the best food I have eaten anywhere and always cooked to order with good quality ingredients. Cannot wait to return once life returns to normal but hopefully he will do take away's so we won't have to wait that long.
Excellent value for money very attentive staf. Will be booking to go back again soon x
Freshly prepared food Polite and helpful staff Convenient location near the the theatre. An excellent choice of restaurant.
This is my 'go to' place in Wolverhampton. The food is cooked fresh with homely ingredients and the sort of love and care you don't find everywhere. Richard is a wonderful host and cook and the staff are very polite and professional. Top notch.. but keep it a secret!!!
Friendly welcome, yummy (reasonably priced!) food and great service! Thank you! We’ll be visiting again soon 😃
A perfect place for pre-theatre supper - or any supper really! Freshly-cooked and very tasty food, with a great menu-choice and lovely staff.
Brilliant, friendly, relaxed service. Food was wonderful. Great evening thanks.
Overall a lovely evening with great service and delicious food.
Good delicious food friendly knowledgeable staff. Lovely meal before threatre
Bubble and squeak with a poached egg on top very nice. The southern fried chicken burger cooked beautifully and went nicely with seasoned sweet potato fries and red cabbage coleslaw. Had to walk briskly to the game as the service was a tad slow but everything good worth eating is worth waiting for. And we won 4-0 so great night all round.
I love the Hungry Bistro! Only complaint is draughty front door and loos need updating
Lovely fresh food well worth the money home cooked food not prepacked rubbish
Little gem. We enjoyed our starters and mains, service was pleasant and friendly.
As previously the food was lovely and the staff were polite and attentive. But the service was exceedingly slow. We arrived 20 minutes early to an empty restaurant, during our stay the restaurant was less than half full, yet it took two hours to serve our complete meal. As we were attending the theatre we ended up rushing and with less than ten minutes to get to and sit down at the theatre. This and previous experiences would make me think twice about returning if visiting the theatre. Such a shame for a venue so close to the theatre with a varied menu and good food.
Freshly cooked, quality food, attentive, friendly staff and small venue with quirky artwork on the walls. Cocktails are spot on. This is not your generic restaurant chain.
A sublime seafood choder, cooked expertly by Richard. I've been coming here for ages and can't see that chasing anytime soon. Superb value for money!
Good, waited 45 min for food which was a Bit too long but great place to eat.
Lovely food, took a little bit of time to arrive.
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, very accommodating to our requests. Food was excellent. Will definitely visit again.
The food was lovely and great value but the service was slow and there was insufficient time for us to have a dessert and/or coffee before leaving for the theatre
Simply fabulous. Food was great. I will keep going back to this great little place time and again. Do remember to book if you want to get a place.
We had a warm welcome and were asked whether we were going to a show as it was an early booking. We ate off the early dinner options and had a very unhurried pleasant time. The food and service were excellent.
Excellent food and service, friendly and overall great. Many thanks
Food was excellent & the staff were fab. Value for money. We will be visiting again soon
Good food & atmosphere. Staff very helpful. Will go back.
Highly recommend this place. We came for lunch before going to the grand theatre. Great location. Soup and toasted ciabatta was amazing and very reasonably at £7. We will be back. Spread the word!
We were welcomed warmly. Service was friendly. An enjoyable lunch in nice surroundings.
Cocktails very good, Turkey dinner generous. pity we couldn't stay longer for a dessert. Chef & staff charming will definitely be back.
The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Particularly pleased that they took so much care to provide for my daughter who needs a gluten free diet.
We had a small work celebration for the end of the year and everything was perfect.
Great menu and service great value for money our favourite Wolverhamoton eatery
Amazing food. Amazing early bird deal. Lovely surroundings and staff. Had pate and soup starters and belly pork and southern fried chicken burger. Was amazing and nearly licked the plate. Will be back.
Food as always very tasty and good value for the early bird pre theatre menu. However it does take a time to arrive but worth the wait.
Really nice meal and good wine . Better than our expectations from the website
Attentive, friendly service, as usual (been here half-a-dozen times this year). Food is always on-point (especially the fish dishes) and a good selection of drinks (especially the beer options). Great location with a lovely, relaxed ambiance.
Another lovely meal from this great bistro. Makes the football bearable even if we lose (which we did not!)
Food was absolutely gorgeous! Fresh and high quality ingredients cooked and presented to a high standard. Unfortunately it was the end of shift for some floor staff therefore we got a little bit forgotten which is a shame as it’s a lovely independent establishment. Cocktails are delicious too.
Main course was good, desert was basically a supermarket meringue with cream, 4 blackberries and some broken meringue- a bit like a pudding I’d make for my kids when they were little. Not exactly ‘haut cuisine ‘. The latest delivery of blue roll was stacked by the bar, staff were scruffy ( there’s casual and then there’s scruffy- this was definitely scruffy). The carpentry/ decor in the ladies loo is very rough, and generally the whole place needs a tidy up and some love. Disappointing
We were late arriving because of trouble finding parking and got there for six. We had our order taken by the chef as it seemed to be just him and the one waiter on that evening. My partner was warned against the Risotto because it would take 40 minutes to prepare and we needed to be at the theatre across the road for 7.30. I was also keen on having a dessert if possible. The drinks came fairly quickly and our snack before the meal soon after that (£4 for half a bag of root vegetable crisps in a bowl, ouch) but our main didn't arrive until five to seven - only a few starters had come out of the kitchen since we'd been waiting, I'm not sure if any mains had arrived - and we were on the verge of paying for our drinks and leaving to find the nearest McDonalds. Other tables (there were six covers in all by the look of it) were enquiring about their food as they too needed to go to the theatre and were starting to get anxious. The food itself was perfectly nice, the staff were friendly enough but the time it was taking to get food out of the kitchen - for anyone, not just us - made us uncomfortable. We probably won't try this place again if we need to eat before visiting the Grand, as they don't seem to have enough staff on to deal with pre-theatre meals (mid-week at least).
Very welcoming little place. Food good and draught Peroni. Ideal pre theatre meal. Very convenient . Thank you
Good food at a fair price if a somewhat limited menu. Very handy for the theatre and local cinema.
Food was lovely as usual, and the service was friendly and helpful. But were visiting the Theatre and the service could have been quicker. Would still visit again!
An excellent little find! Ours was a pre theatre dinner. Traffic so bad we were half an hour late arriving (we did phone ahead to let them know). Greeted by a lovely, welcoming smile from the host who couldn't have helped us more to choose dinner and get to the theatre on time. Superb, tasty Catch of the Day dinner and the best hot chocolate I have tasted in a good while. Super service, great staff. Will most definitely return - especially to try a vegan themed evening.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A little gem. Love it
The food was excellent. The restaurant was very quiet and we waited over 30 minutes for our food. By this time our drinks were long gone. We were not told the wait would be so long. People who came in 15 minutes after us were served before us. Overall we were disappointed. There was, over a period of time, seven customers. Only one when we arrived.
Had a lovely pre theatre meal - Chicken Burger with Sweet Potato Wedges washed down with Rose wine. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Nice change from the usual pubfare/curries typical of Wolverhampton. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. Even got a free cocktail of our choice as it was our wedding anniversary.
Lovely place, friendly staff and great food. Perfect for a pre theatre lunch.
Very welcoming and a great place for the pre- theatre meal. Not a massive choice but what they do is first class with attention to detail. Will book again in an instant.
Have visited on several occasions and the food, service and atmosphere arer always fantastic.
