A bit underwhelming sadly. The staff were too busy chatting to come & welcome us & take us to our table. The place was pretty much empty, so no atmosphere. Food was ok but for NY eve nothing out the norm.
Good food, service fast but staff not overly interactive or smiley
Perfect in every way. Great service, very friendly staff and really delicious food. Great pub with lovely atmosphere. Everything we’d hoped for. We would recommend to everyone.
Superb meal and service highly recommend so pleased we booked
Beautiful rustic old inn right at the foot of the castle. The food was very enjoyable
We have dined many times over the years at the greyhound a d have always had a good experience but sadly not this time. We arrived and the place looked lovely as it always does particularly at this time of the year. We had a nice table. We then ordered our drinks and had to ask for the bottle of wine that had been ordered but had obviously been forgotten as we waited about 15 mins before asking. We then ordered our food we had a menu to choose from.a family member ordered a chicken snitzel with sauerkraut from the light bites list st £9.95 and some.mash. When she got hers it was huge plate if 2 snitzels and chips. She said she hadn't ordered all that which I can concur with and that it was way too much. It then transpired that there were 2 menus one of them being being your ALPINE MENU WHICH we were not given but the other one with the snitzel being a LIGHTBITE Having explained this the waiter did not apologise or OFFERr to change it and it was all rather embarrassing and not professional. So after a few mins deliberating I had to go to the bar and tell the waiter who is south African, that this plate of food was not ordered in this size!!! He then apogised and said that there were 2 menus running and the chef obviously got wrong bit it took me to go down and set it straight. It did somewhat dampen the evening and we were rather embarrassed by it as we live in swanage and were taking them.out to dinner.
What a beautiful pub in a wonderful location. Interesting and varied normal menu plus, in the winter, their Alpine Menu. We had a delicious traditional Fondue. It came with a huge selection of sides to which we added the deli meat and pickles which made a magnificent lunch. Absolutely brilliant. This was topped off with one of the best Apple strudels we've ever had. Great service, lovely staff and fab Christmas decorations. We'll be back to sample their fayre again.
Our only criticism is that they only had 1 choice of soup (caramelised onion, and my wife can't eat onions. Otherwise a delightful meal and the staff were very professional and attentive. We have been several times now as we live locally and really enjoy the food. The service is very good and one doesn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive. Would always recommend The Greyhound to friends and family. Thank you
Very good food and excellent service from the staff on Christmas Eve.
We visited the Greyhound with the family including Grandchildren, in the early evening following a ride on the Swanage Railway Polar Express as a Pre Christmas treat. The service was good, everyone was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious and plentiful. Happy Christmas to all at The Greyhound.
Amazing roast dinner and great service and great price for the quality :)
Lovely food and good service. We will definitely be back!
All was really good and felt very festive. Our seating was amazing and cosy. Only slight quibble, the menu is not clear that certain meals are burgers in buns - maybe the title of that section should be clear? I ordered a Smokey Steak and it was in a burger bun.
Great food and attentive staff. Lovely decorations. Great atmosphere. Will be back.
Lovely evening! Great food,, and service, huge portions! Lovely atmosphere
Loverly food and great service - never been disappointed here
Unfortunately the service was slow and our food came out at different times. Half of my husbands hot meal was cold. There were other people complaining that their food was cold. We didn't stay for desert as we were waiting too long to be served. We could see there wasn't enough staff and the staff that were there were rushed off their feet. The other mains at our table were enjoyed as well as the festive beverages.
The smell of strong cheese was over powering throughout the whole pub. It was quiet humours watching people come in and cover their faces . The fish and chips was very poor - described as all soggy. Service was good though.
Really friendly and attentive staff, lovely atmosphere in pub and such delicious food of generous portions. Thank you. 😁👍
A fabulous festive evening at The Greyhound; cosy and decorated beautifully for Christmas! The food was delicious, hot and fresh - all clean plates post meal! We all thoroughly enjoyed and can’t wait to return again soon. Thank you team 😊
The service was 10 out of 10 and the Sunday roast was one of the best we have had and the portion size was very generous. We would highly recommend The Greyhound Inn and we shall most definitely be returning
Nice food, attentive stall, pleasant surrounding and a fair price. Perfect for what we wanted this evening
There was 6 of us including 4 and 2 year old. The waiting staff were amazing and made sure the girls were catered. Their food came out so quick and was delicious. The adult food was also amazing. Would highly recommend.
Food was amazing, staff very friendly and helpful. Very modern and great decor. We are going again tonight. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch with excellent friendly service from the staff.
Great food in a lovely spot in a charming village!
Staff, ambience and food all lovely. A great varied menu.
Lovely food and atmosphere as usual whether it's summer or winter.
Excellent food, drinks. The duo of meats roast (beef and pork in my case) was lovely and service top class as well. Would highly recommend.
Nice table and good food. Service wasn’t great although staff friendly.
Had a little room for our party of 6. Amazing food and great service .
We were left standing waiting to be seated for at least 5 minutes, despite several members of staff seeing us there and completely ignoring us. The food was ok - fairly standard pub grub. Service was ok once we’d been seated, but I’d asked for some water, which never appeared.
Really tasty food, great service and such a lovely cosy pub.
Nice looking pub, told we couldn't stand at the bar, even though other people were doing so, food very average. Burger overdone to the point of inedible. Don't go in with high hopes.
Interesting tasty food and quick service. Highly recommended. Seasonal game stew a highlight.
Nice food, reasonably priced. Staff were delightful, will return again.
Excellent service, very friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious and huge portions! Overall a fantastic experience, we will definitely return :)
Great food (Sunday Roast), very large portion, good efficient service, only down side was pub/restaurant had been themed for Halloween, with every nook and cranny covered in cobwebs and adorned with witches and skeletons.
Really friendly helpful staff. Packed, busy pub, lots of staff to help take orders, serve and clear tables.
Great food, big portions, helpful staff, lovely pub, dog friendly.
Service was slow, we were placed in a side room, where there was no other customers which in turn meant that we were forgotten alot of the time, we did not have any cutlery after the starters. So we had to find our own off of another table, we had run out of drinks but no one came to check on us throughout, getting the bill was a long drawn out process, my advise is if you are going to use the side rooms then you need to ensure your customers are not forgotten about
Thank you very much for a great visit! There were plenty of staff who were all very efficient and attentive. We had an excellent table inside altogether. The pub was clean and warm. The food was excellent. Very happy to recommend. We were at the Greyhound for a Postcrossing meet-up and are very happy to recommend the Greyhound on that website for future meet-ups.
The Greyhound at Corfe offers a wide selection of delicious food at good prices in an atmospheric pub with great service. Would recommend and will return.
Very good service and welcome. The restaurant was full, atmosphere good and very welcoming to dogs. Perhaps a bit too warm but that may have been the number of people rather than the heating. The food was good and plentiful, with perhaps a rather too generous a portion of meat on the Sunday roast. I was too full to want to order a dessert. The beef was cooked to a standard medium setting and appeared hand sliced. Comparing the price point with other restaurants I use more regularly I should have preferred to have a choice of rare to well done but I recognise that this was a busy Sunday and the kitchens are not enormous. Overall I was well satisfied with the quality of the food and drink and would certainly visit again.
Our Sunday roasts were absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and the decor was cosy with a lovely atmosphere.
We had the roast and it was amazing really enjoyed it thank you!
Great atmosphere, very friendly and professional service and the food simply delicious.
Great service and food. Sunday roast was tasty and well presented. The kids carrot and cucumber sticks with humous looked like they had been prepped the day prior - a bit dry. Great lunch all in all for a family of four. Desserts seemed a bit overpriced.
Nice pub, lovely location and friendly and welcoming staff. Unfortunately standard of food not great.
very lovely meal would go again. it was very busy so we waited a bit for our meal but it was worth waiting for.
