The best Sunday roast I have had in years. Would highly recommend the Greyhound without even mentioning the superb location.

Delicious, quality and filling Sunday lunch. Book early to avoid disappointment - it was fully booked with no room for walk-ins.

When we have been before for Sunday lunch, the meat has been tender. This time the beef and the pork were quite tough. The rest was good.

A bit underwhelming sadly. The staff were too busy chatting to come & welcome us & take us to our table. The place was pretty much empty, so no atmosphere. Food was ok but for NY eve nothing out the norm.

We have dined many times over the years at the greyhound a d have always had a good experience but sadly not this time. We arrived and the place looked lovely as it always does particularly at this time of the year. We had a nice table. We then ordered our drinks and had to ask for the bottle of wine that had been ordered but had obviously been forgotten as we waited about 15 mins before asking. We then ordered our food we had a menu to choose from.a family member ordered a chicken snitzel with sauerkraut from the light bites list st £9.95 and some.mash. When she got hers it was huge plate if 2 snitzels and chips. She said she hadn't ordered all that which I can concur with and that it was way too much. It then transpired that there were 2 menus one of them being being your ALPINE MENU WHICH we were not given but the other one with the snitzel being a LIGHTBITE Having explained this the waiter did not apologise or OFFERr to change it and it was all rather embarrassing and not professional. So after a few mins deliberating I had to go to the bar and tell the waiter who is south African, that this plate of food was not ordered in this size!!! He then apogised and said that there were 2 menus running and the chef obviously got wrong bit it took me to go down and set it straight. It did somewhat dampen the evening and we were rather embarrassed by it as we live in swanage and were taking them.out to dinner.

What a beautiful pub in a wonderful location. Interesting and varied normal menu plus, in the winter, their Alpine Menu. We had a delicious traditional Fondue. It came with a huge selection of sides to which we added the deli meat and pickles which made a magnificent lunch. Absolutely brilliant. This was topped off with one of the best Apple strudels we've ever had. Great service, lovely staff and fab Christmas decorations. We'll be back to sample their fayre again.

Our only criticism is that they only had 1 choice of soup (caramelised onion, and my wife can't eat onions. Otherwise a delightful meal and the staff were very professional and attentive. We have been several times now as we live locally and really enjoy the food. The service is very good and one doesn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive. Would always recommend The Greyhound to friends and family. Thank you

We visited the Greyhound with the family including Grandchildren, in the early evening following a ride on the Swanage Railway Polar Express as a Pre Christmas treat. The service was good, everyone was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious and plentiful. Happy Christmas to all at The Greyhound.

All was really good and felt very festive. Our seating was amazing and cosy. Only slight quibble, the menu is not clear that certain meals are burgers in buns - maybe the title of that section should be clear? I ordered a Smokey Steak and it was in a burger bun.

Unfortunately the service was slow and our food came out at different times. Half of my husbands hot meal was cold. There were other people complaining that their food was cold. We didn't stay for desert as we were waiting too long to be served. We could see there wasn't enough staff and the staff that were there were rushed off their feet. The other mains at our table were enjoyed as well as the festive beverages.

The smell of strong cheese was over powering throughout the whole pub. It was quiet humours watching people come in and cover their faces . The fish and chips was very poor - described as all soggy. Service was good though.

We were left standing waiting to be seated for at least 5 minutes, despite several members of staff seeing us there and completely ignoring us. The food was ok - fairly standard pub grub. Service was ok once we’d been seated, but I’d asked for some water, which never appeared.

Service was slow, we were placed in a side room, where there was no other customers which in turn meant that we were forgotten alot of the time, we did not have any cutlery after the starters. So we had to find our own off of another table, we had run out of drinks but no one came to check on us throughout, getting the bill was a long drawn out process, my advise is if you are going to use the side rooms then you need to ensure your customers are not forgotten about
