A very small portion of meat on the roast dinners, and £3 for 2 extra Yorkshire puddings, left us feeling rather short changed.

Had a lovely evening for a birthday, as always the food, staff and atmosphere were great, the duke is always our go to place for a night out.

I enjoyed being with my friends and had a lovely time with them. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere was good. I didn’t particularly enjoy the food and wouldn’t return again:

Restaurant was very busy and a bit loud but the staff were attentive pleasant and smiling.The food was was of a good standard and the price about right.

Overall a little disappointed, this is the second time we have visited this restaurant in the past few weeks and again we have come away feeling a little dismayed. Whilst we appreciate this establishment is now a busy place in a great location they must acknowledge that a level of service and food must be maintained to an acceptable level. New Year's Eve, run out of selected food Sunday Lunch, run out of selected food This is not acceptable, combine this with a Sunday Lunch dish that was clearly the end of the day and I say no more. We will continue to support Duke William as we have for many years now but we do feel the quality of food and service needs a review.

Very nice Sunday lunch and the portions were very good especially the giant Yorkshire puddings. Nice selection on the children’s menu too which was good value.

Our second visit to meet up with friends. Great food and unhurried atmosphere which meant that we stayed and chatted happily. Took the dog who was welcome by the fire in the front bar. We’ve already said we”ll be back!

Meal was as delicious as usual but ordered 3 x cherry pannacottas and received 3 x black currant pannacottas with no explanation and no one came back to us or apologized.

It was busy we had a fifteen minute wait for our booked table but once seated everything was perfect service food no complaints at all

My carrot and orange soup was tasty, but lacked a little depth. my friends thoroughly enjoyed their steak pie and chips and steak and chips, however. Really cosy and warm in there.

We use the Duke William regularly and have recommended it to lots of people over time but our visit on this occasion was a little disappointing :-( The service at the bar when we arrived was extremely slow... It wasn't overly busy but the bar staff seemed preoccupied with other things and we waited 20 minutes to get served. The service at the table was good but sadly the food was not up to the standard we had been used to in the past... there was no specials board so we were limited to the main menu.. not particularly a problem but we always look forward to the specials (Especially the muscles) and the imaginative variations to the standard items. We ordered the pie, the linguine, the fish and chips and the sausage and mash... all meals were presented well but we all agreed that they were not up to the standard we had come to expect from the Duke William.

Lovely food and attentive staff. Always enjoy it here. Would recommend.
