This is the second visit for sunday lunch. The first time we had a really lovely meal but the second was not so good. Whether it was because we ate later, but the meat wasn't so nice, infact it was tough and two of us left it. At £15.95 per person, this was disappointing. On the positive side, my son had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which he said was delicious. Will try a further visit for sunday lunch again. The staff are very attentive and friendly.
Enjoyable food from a varied menu to suit all tastes in good friendly surroundings with a good atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful thank you
Excellent Sunday lunch! Nice atmosphere and reasonable price. Good selection of mains and specials. Nice location and decoration inside. Would definitely eat here again. Thanks
Lovely warm atmosphere, we had Sunday lunch and it was delicious, I had the sweet potato and Feta strudel and it was so nice to have a tasty veggie option.
We’re shown to our table earlier than we had booked it which was really nice, the staff were lovely and friendly. The food was out quickly and was amazing
Great food and service. I’ve nothing else to say but you want twenty five words and I think that it is pointless to ramble on.
Had the roast beef and pork. Very little meat, undercooked pork, deep fried potatoes, average gravy. Had much better roasts for less money. Not impressed.
Always fantastic service and food at the Duke. Sunday lunch was perfect and the soup starter and black pudding scotch egg were delicious. Our favorite place to dine in Lincoln
Good quality food, friendly and efficient staff, would recommend the Duke, it is in a good location close to the cathedral, a nice walk after your meal
We had a very nice time at the duke William , i had the black pudding scotch egg to start and my wife had the fish cakes , for main I had rump steak with all the trimmings which was cooked exactly to my liking. My wife had the chicken supreme off the specials board unfortunately it came with mushrooms which my wife doesn't like , this was not mentioned on the menu board but it just meant picking them off and putting them with my steak so they were'nt wasted also the creamy chive and garlic mash came without chives , but we are maybe being a little picky . The staff were excellent and vey attentive ,obliging and pleasant , overall a very pleasant experience.
Our first meal at the Duke William since our courting days in the 1980s! With the new owners it is still a special place with friendly and attentive service and delicious food. The menu offers both simple and more adventurous choices. The only thing not to like on a cold evening was the frequent draught caused by the opening of the two doors opposite each other onto the courtyards when opened and sometimes left open by diners popping out to smoke. The use of only one door would have been less of a problem. Otherwise full marks and would recommend and return.
Good food and good surroundings, friendly staff and good service. Sausages were real Lincolnshire and the mash and onion graveyard were really tasted. The chicken special was also delicious.
We had lunch for four people followed by coffee. Everything was well cooked, presented and tasty. Good atmosphere and attentive staff. We have also had dinner there and everything was equally good at a very busy time.
Cibo ottimo, locale meraviglio e intimo. Staff attento e gentile
Amazing food within a friendly, bubbly atmosphere. I would highly recommend it. A fab birthday night out. One of my top favourite places to eat out at in Lincoln. Thank you.
Great meal, lovely atmosphere and good beer. Booked on the day and sat down early, they were very accommodating. Would recommend for groups or couples
Friendly staff who acknowledged us the moment we stepped through the door. Sunday roast consumed. Roast beef as it should be, pink and tender. Will return.
A fantastic experience. Food was delicious in wonderful surroundings. Portions so good I missed out on the desserts. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Will be back....soon! 😊
Very very disappointing. Average food. Burgers not good. Rushed service wanted us in and out asap. Over priced. £13.00 for a burger. Won't go back.
It’s been a while since we were last there. The food was still as good as it was last time and the staff were really friendly and attentive
Booked for Sunday Lunch, when arrived was told that they had run out of veg, it was substituted with mash potatoes and kale, which I left, therefore extremely disappointed, as it was recommended, Last week I had a Sunday lunch in the Victoria Pup in Salcombe which was excellent and £4 cheaper, those who know Salcombe it is not a cheap place to eat.
A wonderful lunch once again. Well worth the 130 mile round trip . Would highly recommend. Staff pleasant and efficient. A great atmosphere. A great afternoon
Great atmosphere, attentive staff and tasty food. What more can you want? Well a pudding actually but we hadn't got enough time, and we missed the jazz band setting up. Definitely will be back for the full monty!
The staff at the Duke William are always friendly and helpful. We had a lovely evening but I was a little disappointed with the menu. The specials were really more of what was on the menu. There were no hot chicken dishes and no fish apart from fish and chips. Despite the fact that we like the pub/restaurant we would probably try other places to eat because of the limited menu.
Great 3 course dinner - alongside friendly and attentive service in an attractive setting. Value for money too. Most certainly would recommend and given the chance I would eat there again.
Both the restaurant and hotel were excellent, the staff were attentive, cheerful and nothing was too much. The food was very good and the service excellent.
Very good, unpretentious food and very pleasant, helpful service. We will definitely go again. We will recommend this place to our friends and family. Duncan

The atmosphere, service and food absolutely brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Lunch. Highly recommend Duke William... It will definitely become our go to have a meal out with family and friends.
Great food and service. 2 course lunch £12.95 unhurried, staff very attentive but not overbearing. This is a great place in the Bail for locals and visitors.
We went for Sunday lunch. Lovely place to sit and eat. We were served by an extremely friendly, helpful young man. However the quality of the food was below what I expected, it tasted as if it had been cooked hours before (we ate at 3pm, they serve all day) I would rather quality than quantity with regards to meals, including those served in pubs.
Loud music and pub grub.Quite OK-most people would be satisfied I think.Service good.Wine perhaps a little dearer than some others in the area. Good choice
Attractive pub venue and restaurant. Attentive staff. Well presented and tasty food. Lovely outside area. Would have given top marks but requested 'rare' rump steak, arrived medium but good quality. All meals good value.
Menu on offer was great, service was extremely quick and friendly. Great selection of drinks on offer and on the whole it was reasonably priced meal. Lovely food!
Really good service throughout the evening, very friendly atmosphere. The starter was very good and the mains were very yummy. Highly recommend the specials board!
The service on the night was very good but the food was only ok, I was expecting more from this prim location in Lincoln as my wife and myself find are busy lifes make it difficult to fit dining out.
Bar staff and waiters made us feel welcome and kept checking to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was a generous portion and tasted wonderful. We would highly recommend it.
Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the table was set nicely. Food was very good and all 7of the party really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere.
Beautiful atmosphere and surroundings in city on rainy night. Welcomed by all staff. Efficient service. Tasty menu and wine to celebrate family birthday. Will eat there again next time we visit.
Lovely pub, amazing food and fantastic staff! Thank you for making our evening extra special. I will definitely be recommending to friends and family. 😊
Had an amazing late Sunday lunch and staff superb! Just disappointed beer garden was closed temporarily :( as it was a lovely sunny pm !
Good food but missed out on Sunday roast by half an hour. Service was good and staff were freindly. Would recommend to others and would go back
Good Sunday lunch. Good food, large portions, delicious homemade desserts with friendly efficient service, An historic building which has been recently refurbished, overall a good experience. ValG
Service was good with an attentive waiter, even though he got my order wrong. Starter fantastic but I was a little disappointed with the Sunday lunch on terms of taste and quality.
Table for 6 booked on-line, very simple. Good selection of beers & wine. Menu isn't massive but great variety and excellent quality. Not had a bad experience in any of this chains pubs inLincoln.
We have eaten at the Duke William several times and are always impressed with the imaginative menu. The beetroot and goats cheese risotto and black pudding scotch egg were delicious. There is a good atmosphere and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. We'll be back.
Nice food but quite pricey for a full English breakfast at £9.95 plus extra for drinks. If there's two or more of you there are cheaper places to go for breakfast at the same quality.
My first time here and wil defo go back. Fantastic food and the staff are very friendly. A lovley setting and very easy to find. Well recommended.
The interior seating area is very tasteful and cosy with ample character. Welcome and service is excellent. However, this is the second time we have eaten here and both times disappointed with the food. Our roast was tepid and the fish and chips overcooked, we will not return sadly.
Went with a party of 4 and all of our food was delicious. It was a busy saturday night but the service was really good - staff had good knowledge about the menu as well.
The food was both delicious and we'll priced, large portion sizes! Service was great and the atmosphere lovely. Would recommend for lunch or dinner, and go again.
