A great restaurant, great atmosphere and very pleasant staff. The menu was nicely varied without being over the top. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. I would have scored higher but there was a mix up with our order and ad a result two main courses were delivered late. We did get a discount on the bill though. We will go there again.
Well-prepared food, although the menu could do with expanding a little more. Ambience is good except for the accoustics in the restaurant areas - there's no sound absorbing materials so, with a full restaurant, it was difficult to hear what the other people at my table were saying.

Food was excellent but we had to go and find the waitress to pay the bill and we needed to go to the bar to order our rounds of drinks in meal as no staff visible in restaurant. Barman was very good and told us to sit down and brought the drinks to us. A restaurant manager/supervisor seems required
Really enjoyed our Sunday dinner, great place, great staff. In a lovely part of Lincoln with a wide choice on the menu always something different to chose, but you can't beat their Sunday roasts.
Was taken straight to our table even though we were 15 minutes early. Very quick polite friendly service. Food was outstanding. Great menu choices and bar is extremely well stocked. Beautiful decor. Only slight problem was that the bread for the table was brought out at the same time as the mains. Not a huge problem but our waiter noticed the mistake without us saying a word and promptly took 10% off the bill. We've recently moved to the area and this will definitely be one of our favorite places to eat.
Only our second visit to The Duke William for lunch and we weren't disappointed. It was excellent, this place really can not be faulted. The food & drink, the staff and service and the building itself, all beautiful!
Food was very good as was the service. Really good atmosphere and we will definitely be returning in the new year. Overall an excellent meal.
Whilst we have no complaints about the quality of the food we have to say that the service was extremely slow. We waited 55 minutes from ordering before our food arrived. The only things coming out of the kitchen seemed to be burgers which were heading for the bar area.
Lovely food...staff were very good....polite and efficient. Menu could do with being a little more varied but overall a lovely place. Will visit again soon.
Lovely meal. Table was a little cool because we were close to french doors and it was a cold night. Would definitely visit again .
Had a great meal. Food was well presented and beautifully cooked, would have given full marks but my salmon came with an unexpected olive garnish and I hate olives. The waitress was fully prepared to get me another one but as the garnish was on the skin side of the salmon it didn't alter the taste too much. Staff were attentive, polite and helpful. Also good value.
I was with a group of 8 people. The food was acceptable but not well presented - all the meat and veg on one's plate, covered by an enormous Yorkshire pudding and swimming in gravy. Veg and gravy would have been better presented separately. I thought it was overpriced at £13.95. In my view £8.95 would have been a more appropriate price. And the unremitting musack was very unpleasant. I would not go there again.
Lovely cosy pub/restaurant. The food was great, in particular the aubergine and halloumi bruschetta and the steak. The service was also very good and the waiter helpful.
Nicely refurbished with cosy atmosphere. Good selection of main courses - the belly pork was delicious. Standard choice of desserts, would have been nice to see something different to what you can get everywhere else. Would definitely recommend and go back. The service was very good too.
Greeted very cordially by a young man behind the bar. We had a couple of drinks before going through to the dining room for lunch. As it was Sunday we both had a roast , this was excellent, nicely presented and served to us by a very pleasant and helpful young lady. All in all a very enjoyable experience. John Rayner
Very nice atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonable amount of choice on the menu. The food was very good and well priced. Service was quick. Would definitely return on my next visit to Lincoln.
Lovely room, with great facilities. Really nice pub with good food both at dinner and breakfast. Great location for Lincoln's historic quarter. I would definitely recommend.
Lovely food, great prices and we had some good service. The setting was lovely and we will return - particularily for Sunday Lunch - Thanks
Waited a long time at the bar to be acknowledged/seated and finally served any drinks or food. This was when the area was not even busy either. Had it been, chaos would have ensued. This continued after seating, with lack lustre service, so despite pleasant surroundings and food, the visit was tarnished.
Excellent food and service always provided at this excellent venue close to the cathedral and castle. All of our party enjoyed the choices made from the lunch menu....
I enjoyed the experience, the staff were helpful, cheerful, and efficient. Nice ambience to the restaurant and the food was good. I would recommend it.
Great service with friendly staff and fantastic food with a good choice. Toilets let them down unfortunately though as they weren't clean. Would definitely go again
The staff spent most of the time we were eating in the dining room rearranging chairs and tables for a large party of people very noisy and spoilt our meal . The soup I had was lovely the beef burger not cooked enough . My husbands steak was very nice we didn't have a dessert as we felt in the way .
Good service, good food ,nice atmosphere would recommend it and go again ourselves , booked online but it wasn't transferred to the day book, luckily there was a table for us
Good welcome, treated my Dad with respect, concerned about his mobility but without being condescending. Good service and very tasty food - worth the expense.
The food was really good and very good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. A very good dining experience and would recommend it highly.
We arrived early but were still shown straight to our table. It was very busy and there didn't seem to be enough bar staff to cope with bar customers and restaurant arrivals. The decor is cosy and atmospheric; in keeping with the age of the building. The atmosphere was good although I'm not a fan of children in pubs; there was a lot of screaming and crying which ruined the ambience the management are trying to create. The service was attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent although the Sunday roast was too potato and carb heavy, with too little veg. Will definitely go back both to eat and drink
Great venue, we'd only had a drink here before but decided to try the food on a Saturday night with friends. Really glad we did, each dish was fantastic and we all really enjoyed it. Staff really friendly and we thought it was good value. We'll certainly eat here again.
Arrived slightly late due to traffic, but table was ready and we were shown to it on our arrival. Good choice on the menu and food arrived soon after it was ordered. The food was really good and tasty. Serving staff very attentive and regularly checked on us to see if we had any further requirements.
Comfortable, hospitable, staff pleasant and helpful, with the menu being restricted due to high volume of lunchtime trade, the quality of food and ambience of restaurants very good.
Excellent meal yesterday evening. From the ease of booking via quandoo, the warm welcome, the imaginative use of simple ingredients to create interesting dishes and fantastic service from Chelsea and Annie. Already booked to go again. Well done and keep it up.
Lovely atmosphere food was delicious normally would have main and pudding but the starters sounded yummy to so had a starter and a main buy did r have room for a pudding. The portion size is great and the what you pay is worth it.
We all had a very nice experience the food was very good and the service was brilliant, we loved the new setting of the Duke William and will return to enjoy many evenings
Very nicely refurbished bar and restaurant. Made up of a series of different rooms with 4 or 5 tables in each - makes for a nice cosy, intimate atmosphere. Also has an outdoor terrace at the rear. Service excellent and food very good at reasonable prices. Plenty of choice on the menu with some specials on the board. Fast becoming one of the most popular eateries in Lincoln. I would certainly recommend it for any occasion.
Beautiful food in an intimate environment - lots of small areas made what is a big place feel very cosy. Deinately would recommend and would go again.
Had a nice roast dinner in good surrounding Good service no complaints at all Will be returning again to go through the rest of the menu
Really fantastic food, lovely relaxed atmosphere. The service was fantastic & the staff were extremely friendly. I highly recommend a visit if your in Lincoln. 10/10.
Very friendly helpful staff and excellent food, the place has a great rustic feel and look, great quality food and nothing was too much trouble for the staff
Very pleasant surprise . Excellent food. Good service. Very pleasant surroundings. Recommended. Great part of Uphill Lincoln. We will certainly visit again in the near future.
Excellent service and food, partner felt his main course was a little small... He had the lamb. Lovely environment and a pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed our evening out.
Good atmosphere. Excellent food. Brilliant staff. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Located in a really interesting part of Lincoln. Hospitality was first class. Would highly recommend.
The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Nice place to have a meal or just to chill out with friends. Great position in the baile to visit other pubs.
The staff were great. The food was beautiful. There is a lovely setting inside and a really cute beer garden. We would highly recommend and look forward to going again.
We had a lovely meal in beautiful surroundings! The steak looked particularly good, and there was a great atmosphere. Wished we lived nearby and were able to visit again.
Lovely food. Good value. Service patchy. Shown to table not given menus, wasn't asked for drinks order. Had to ask twice for water. Had to ask at bar where the specials board was as this wasn't mentioned when menus were given.
Well run hotel in a central location. Newly renovated, good rooms with excellent bathrooms. Excellent service and high class food. Choice of four real ales.
Friendly, kind and helpful staff and delicious food. We had two evening meals here with family, one with a toddler, and both times the food was good and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a relaxed time. I highly recommend them.
Very good evening had by all. Extremely good waiting staff. Moved us to quieter spot. nothing too much trouble for any of them. All were well presented , polite . a credit to the venue. Thank you one & all. Betty
Food was excellent, however, service was very poor we had to wait over 40 minutes for our main course which we then had to rush as we were going to an event at the Assembly Rooms.
A wonderful stay and the breakfast was amazing. Booking was easy and the staff were extremely helpful. Excellent value for money and well located. Thoroughly recommended.
