The service was well above standard. From arriving to leaving. The food excellent The staff exceptional.

Went for a midweek Birthday celebration with my husband. Food and service were excellent as always. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Once again a lovely meal with excellent service. Thank you to everyone front of house and behind the scenes.

We use this restaurant a lot. We can walk to it from home and the food is always good. We went for an early evening one-course and, as always, the food was great, staff cheerful and friendly and enough people in so that we felt comfortable. We feel lucky to have such a nice place so close by.

The famous Carbonara lacked taste and depth! We had 3 children - who may I say behaved very well - but as a group we felt pushed to the back of the restaurant and forgotten about (even had to go and find our own coats at the end of our evening)

Lovely atmosphere and really busy for a Tuesday night in October. Food was very good although as it's cooked freshly there is a bit of a wait. We had some nice red wine and garlic bread which seemed to help pass the time until the mains arrived and it was all worth waiting for! We will definitely be going back and taking more friends who come to visit us in Kelso.

Lovely duo of fish and excellent puddings! Pasta was good too.

I have been to The Contented Vine on several occasions. It consistently serves lovely food, beautifully presented. There is a wide choice on the menu which is reasonably priced. One of my favourite places.

It was a really busy night and we waited nearly an hour between starters and main course which was a ashame. the starter were good but the rest of the main courses were quite bland really :o(

Food lovely,I had a party of eight people but unfortunately we were seated in front of a very large party who were quite loud so it made conversation at my table difficult which was unfortunate as I had family over from Australia

Lovely meal thank you bottle of wine we chose was lovely too husband wished he chose a alternative sauce with his surf and turf as he found it a bit dry with the garlic butter but other than that it was lovely thanks
