Great customer service and great food. Only problem was that we were sat downstairs. This was maybe not a problem for later bookings (we were there for about 6pm) but for about half an hour we were sat on our own in what seemed like a cellar. All the music was upstairs and we could see tables being used as storage for stock items. This spoilt the meal somewhat. It was our wedding anniversary so we came here for a bit of a celebratory meal. We had been to a TCT in Bristol before which had a really good atmosphere so we expected the same here and it seemed like the tables upstairs had that good feeling but the downstairs tables were not the same. The staff were still lovely, as was the food, but being downstairs definitely put a dampener on our meal.
The food was fantastic - like being back in Sri Lanka - and the service was great. Really good value for money too. We’ll definitely be back!
Service was a little too relaxed felt we had to try and grab attention for our needs. No real options for kids choices.
Great for a first visit with 50% off, not sure I would feel the same re value for money if I was paying full price though.
Lively and bright. Food was exceptionally tasty, great vegetarian options. Great flaming cocktails.
Delicious food, very attentive and friendly staff - great addition to the Bath dining scene.
Amazing! The food was fabulous, the drinks even more fabulous and everything was timely.
Fantastic food and drinks with a really nice atmosphere! The Kottu was particularly good!
Yummy food, great atmosphere, friendly staff :) very original and exciting flavours! Probably our favourite restaurant ❤️🌟🌈
I heard about the new sri lankan street food restaurant from a friend so booked it on the day we went with two other friends. A new place generally has a few teething problems and as it had only been open a few days we laughed about it rather than got angry. Service with a smile but slight nervousness that all was not quite right with the ordering system! Food came pretty promptly, small but well cooked portions( think tapas) but there was no clue on what to order or what would go with what so we picked randomly from the menu which fortunately by luck rather than judgement worked out fine. The hoppers by default come with an egg on top so if you don't like or want a runny yolk then say you want a plain hopper in preference. Overall a great addition to the Bath restaurant scene and will go back if the owners can bear to turn the techno beat driven music down a bit for us older diners !
Food is amazing, the place has a great atmosphere and the staff are lovely!
Lovely staff, amazing different food. A great experience with an explosion of flavours.
Variety of food well cooked excellent service. Enjoyed the experience
We absolutely love The Coconut Tree in Bath and Bristol.
Service was very friendly but a bit slow, great food and value for money.
Food absolutely delicious and authentic. But they played rap at full volume so had to shout over the noise, couldn't hear waiters explaining dishes so we ended up with 2 of one dish instead of 2 different ones. Lots of good contemporary Sri Lankan music out there, or even pop would have been preferable to deafening gangsta rap for 2 hours. Manager listened to us and took money off the bill, but we were not the only ones complaining about the volume so they should play music for all customers not just because staff like it.
Yummy food great staff… just what Bath needed. We will be back 😁
