Good meal, staff service a little slow but to be fair it was very busy when we went, pleasant and polite staff. Will go again.

Excellent meal and good service, as always. We go there regularly - and this is why! Helps that they do superb real ales as well. A quality pub atmosphere in the bar, then a great restaurant next door.

Superb Sunday lunch. Excellent service from friendly staff. We have been before and enjoyed bar meals. First time in Restaurant we give it top marks.

Pleasantly surprised by the ambience on a Monday lunchtime. Excellent food, well presented . Staff attentive without being obtrusive, will certainly return before too long.

We booked a table for four people on the occasion of my partner's birthday. We were made comfortable in the lounge area before being called through to our table. Between the four of us we ordered a variety of meals - two courses each. What a delicious meal we had! The service was excellent too. The Chequers is always our first choice for special occasions and it never disappoints - than you!

Excellent food and good service. A pleasant evenings as a result. Attentive staff although when taking order for one drink on a table of four, didn't ask others if they wanted one, and two of us had to ask. Only minor issue and did not impact on enjoyment of the evening. Busy venue in a pleasant environment.

An early dinner to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and The Chequers pulled out all the stops. The starter was good, the main course was one of the best we have ever eaten and the desert was to die for! The service was excellent. We have been before but will be back again, perhaps sooner rather than later!

Consistently good food, and Wye Valley HPA always bring my customers here. Tonight's specials were particularly excellent, and went down very well indeed, would recconend.

Excellent attentive service. Good quality food from the specials board - I had the halibut my wife the lamb. Good location and pleasant atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant.

Beautiful decor, fabulous outside dining/drinking area. Food was delicious and staff more than helpful. Look forward to trying the regular menu as we visited on a Sunday but still a great variety to choose

Friendly staff, food was excellent. Service was first class, choice of menu was good and wine list options were excellent. Highly recommended never had a bad meal here and have been using for a number of years.

Brilliant food, served by helpful happy staff. Feel sorry for the staff as there was a moaning couple who were clearly out to try and get a free meal (demanding gluten and dairy free and calling them disgusting because they didn't produce said array of food).

We took my mother-in-law to the Chequers for the first time for her birthday on a busy Saturday evening. The service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the seabass which was delicious. My husband and I have been to the Chequers a couple of times now and have found the food to be extremely good. I usually chose the fish as it is excellent. The only point is that it is really necessary to book a table before your visit as it is always busy - a good sign!

Comfortable, quiet surroundings in the main restaurant. Extensive menu for a lunchtime meal. Some expensive dishes on offer but plenty of choice at reasonable prices. Both my colleague and I chose the same starter and main course - home made soup followed by the pie of the day which was chicken, ham hock and leek. Very good portion sizes and beautifully cooked and presented. We went away full but not over faced. I will definitely eat there again.

Excellent food. The only complaint was the waitresses were too quick giving you the next course. I like to take my time when having a meal with friends.

Great menu, well prepared and presented. Friendly staff and good service in a pleasant setting. A good place for us to go for a special occasion - or indeed just for a nice lunch or evening out.

Excellent food and service as ever never disappoints . If only there were other pub restaurants as good as this; every menu choice delivers 100%.

Wide range of meals available and different to that available elsewhere. Main meals were reasonably priced but starters were dearer than we expected. Service could not be faulted and the ambience in the dining area was outstanding.

The staff in the restaurant were very welcoming and attentive. There were 4 of us and we all agreed that the meals we chose were delicious. We have booked to go again for a pre- Christmas get together.

The food was absolutely amazing. Very tasty and presented beautifully. Just wish they had a little cocktail menu.
