Wow wow wow! Chequers has blown us away. Fine dining food in a country pub setting at amazing prices with wonderfully friendly service in a warm cosy atmosphere. The lamb dish was genuinely one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere in the world, it was exquisite!! A massive thank you to the chefs and staff, we will be back - and bringing others!!

Visited for Sunday lunch varied menu but I can certainly recommend the Roast Beef. Despite the Restaurant being busy the service was both efficent and friendly

Had a lovely meal, all our meals were amazing and so tasty!

Although given a table next to an [imitation] log fire, the chilly draughts coming from other areas meant we had cold feet and cold shoulders!

The pub is lovely and cosy. Staff were very friendly and could not fault service. Thought the fish cakes as a main should have been served with a side dish of noodles or fries. Pizza was ok, under cooked. Will not stop me going again. Feel the specials are very expensive.

Lovely atmosphere and very friendly service. The food was delicious. The only negative (and it's a very minor one) was that once we had our bill we were left completely alone, nobody came back for us to pay. I think the waitress may have gone for her own lunch! Would definitely go again.

The restaurant very elegant and stylish. I chose the fish cakes for my main with a side dish of tomatoes. I thought the fish cakes could have been better, they were advertised as having prawns in them however I did not see or taste any.
