Very generous portions of good quality food. Pleasant and attentively service. Nice to see a real fire on a cold day.
Efficient and friendly service, coped easily with our large group Varied menu and competitive prices
Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere, and great service. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food in a beautiful location. Landlord hospitality was first class. Highly recommended.
Great pub, good food, friendly staff, we will come again!
The food very nice, staff friendly but the booking was made 2 weeks prior and was for 3 persons and the table we were given was small for 2 persons with the 3rd place added on when we arrived
Orderd chicken madras , was just a mild curry when arrived , very basic. And expensive.
Great food, great beer, friendly staff. Would go again - didn't have room for pudding!
Fantastic country pub. Great choice, service and value. Well worth a visit.
We were served rapidly. There were plenty of people but the noise level was fine: we could easily hear each other . The roast was very tasty…I would have loved a few more roast potatoes and the Yorkshire was just a couple of bites..two Yorkshires would have been appreciated…but maybe I am greedy!
Good food, friendly staff, lovely setting Would go back again
Very friendly staff. Quality of food was disappointing although wide menu choice. Burgers were burnt and lasagne also.
Friendly staff, good Sunday roast, good beer and pleasant atmosphere. What’s not to like?
Very welcoming, great food and service! Perfect end to a lovely summer walk with the family and dogs, will definitely come again. Thankyou!
We waited a long time for food and it didn’t seem overly busy. Sadly didn’t meet expectations.
Very nice, quaint pub with great food, drinks and service.
Good pub grub for reasonable cost Friendly staff. Good country pub
Great lunch, super friendly staff, good choice of beers, thanks
Excellent food in a proper country pub. Great beer too!
The total on the bill was higher than we expected. The food was not itemised on the bill and when we queried it, we were told that a 10% service charge was added automatically and was included . This is OK but this needs to be made clear in the bill to give people the choice to pay it, if they want ,or leave it as cash.
Lovely pub, good food and friendly staff. Would go again
Great service from friendly Karl, good food served at a great pub
Lovely day - we ate outside. Friendly staff, food very nice and salads fresh. First time here, and we'll be back!
Lovely pub, a warm welcome, great food with generous portions...
Great food and a great atmosphere, lovely classic British pub
Lovely old traditional pub with lovely quirky items , fireplace is a focal point. Small pub inside, with a large beer garden . Warm welcome from both members of staff , had reserved our table online , sat us down and were quick to ask what we wanted to drink. Ordered our food off the menu off the board board. We all had lamb roast. It arrived within 20mins. For £16.50 we had 1 yorkie/2pieces broccolli/2 cauliflour/runner beans/large carrot, all cooked perfect, 2roast potatoes, with a lovely mint gravy,, and then there was the lamb that we all said ruined the dinner, it was more fat than meat, and not very enjoyable which was a shame as everything g else was perfect. We asked for the bill and asked to pay for the 3 lamb roasts and the round of drinks 2 pints of coke £4.40 each and rum and lemonade £4.40+.90p. Came to just under £70 It wasn't until we had checked the receipt that they'd added a service charge of £6+ , this was not mentioned at all before paying, so it was a bit cheeky of them to have added it without asking . We then decided to sit outside in the beer garden and ordered 2 large glasses of rosė wine £6+ each and another rum and lemonade. Im a wine drinker and it def wasn't a large, more 175ml, but the sun was shining and just wanted to enjoy my sisters birthday , so we just chilled. Overall visit was lovely. Everyone friendly, lovely little setting in the middle of nowhere, followed by a walk around miserden lake. Only other issue was the ladies toilets, not cleaned for a while as lots of dead crispy bugs , and the one door ( to the left) would not close properly , otherwise it would have jammed stuck, just needs sanding down, wouldn't be good for a child or elderly that wouldn't have the strength to open it. Had a lovely time though and staff were all very friendly and down to earth , thankyou for our visit and well definitaly be back :)
Nice pub, the food very average. fishcakes dry and unappetising.
Lovely friendly pub in a beautiful village. We reserved a table as it's tiny. We went for the live music also.
Nice country pub atmosphere and prompt service. Would go again.
Brilliant food, amazing service. The lamb burger was delicious. Beautiful fireplace.
A lovely traditional local pub with good food and well kept ales. Very friendly staff who always give a warm welcome. Just the place before or after a walk with the dog.
Great food and service! They were very kind about our massive dog even though he got in the way a lot!
Very friendly staff and locals with excellent home cooked food.
Not visited the 'Carps' for a couple of decades (I live away from the area now) but nothing has changed.....which is great as far as I'm concerned. Good choice of lighter lunches to balance cooked meal offerings. Will def treat my daughter here again when I'm passing.
Very friendly with delicious Sunday roast, and well kept ale. I beautiful surroundings, worth visiting.
Great food , drinks , staff very accommodating and welcoming
Nice country pub good food and ambience. Worth a visit. Lovely.
Average Sunday roast, roast potatoes from the freezer probably the same can be said about the veg. Custard straight from the tin. Not really worth the money especially when a service charge was automatically added to the bill without being advertised.
A rolling country walk, dog on lead and a warm comfortable pub with lunch at the end. Nicely cooked food, an interesting menu, a lovely pint, all wrapped in a hospitable and attentive atmosphere. With some local history this Cotswold stone pub is a classic delight.
Staff grand. Food tasty and great warm plates . 👍
Welcome pint and lunch after 2 hour muddy dog walk. Bustling busy pub - good to see
Fab people running a great village pub. All the food tasted really homemade. Generous, in fact huge portions. Real community atmosphere and felt very welcomed although we weren't local we were treated as locals. Will visit again.
Yes a great place for me being a cider drinker and vegetarian
We have been to this pub quite a few times a d always found all really good, sadly on this occasion we having booked a table we were greeted by sit where you like in very indifferent terms it was a cold day and even colder in the pub a fire was attempted fo be lit they then turned the heating on when it went out. The food was cold at the first attempt 2nd attempt hot but not good. Such a shame the place is now u kept and nobody appears to care
Good beer food acceptable customer service lacking have been to better
Amazing pub! Lovely food and staff :) Can’t recommend enough!
Beautiful home cooked food. Absolutely delicious Will definitely be going back
A good honest country pub with very good food and beer. It beats many pub chains with their 'fancy food' hands-down. Combine a Carpenters Arm lunch with a Miserden Gardens visit and you've got an excellent day out.
The staff were especially good and the food - as usual - was excellent. Thank you
Lovely friendly & helpful staff. Great pub food. Lovely outside seating.
