Food was nice, service was good. Visit was let down by a large group of fellas absolutely smashed At the bar and at a table behind us shouting all over the place. Day after valentines I was out with the Mrs. Staff were top class.

Waitied an hour and a half for food. Half of the food on the menu wasn’t available and when food came it was all at different times. Ate here a lot and never been disappointed but tonight was not great

Lovely place, food & service. We ordered a few dishes to share & everything was delicious, freshly made & well presented. Enjoyed the background music. Surprised to then have live music which was good but unfortunately too loud for comfort making conversation difficult. Was glad when the background music resumed. Will most definitely return & would recommend.

Our first visit and quite impressed. Atmosphere was good although a bit too noisy for a couple of seniors! Despite this my wife couldn’t resist the temptation to have her first ever Gin. Staff very good and friendly.

No food left so had nothing to eat Staff didn’t explain before hand that nothing was left, very unhelpful!

Little birthday treat with hubby. They have included a lot more dishes since first opening but pizza, in my opinion, remains the best. We got the lamb kofta flatbread & the nduja pizza. The kofta was undercooked & had to be sent back, I understand lamb can be served rare but even for my cannibal palette it was raw. Perfect when returned though but would have benefitted from a chilli mayo or sauce to compliment the yogurt dressing. again a personal opinion. The pizza was amazing, as always! Crisp base & perfectly cooked. Fantastic choice of pizza selection, with many alternatives to the usual bog standard you find in other pizza restaurants. Hubby loves the selection of beers & in his opinion there is no competition in the West Derby area with regards to the quality of the draft beer on offer at The Book. It was a very busy Friday night so service was a little slower but that’s to be expected. It is a relatively small venue but what it lacks in space it makes up for in atmosphere! The live music was fantastic. All in all we can’t wait to return.

Nice pasta act very good and quirky good selection of drinks knowledgeable staff not the cheapest and could do with another loo otherwise very good worth a vis
