Helpful friendly staff Good food Following guidelines and making the meal relaxing
We had a great roast dinner, we will be going back. Lovely staff.
Lovely pub, lovely meal. Relaxed feel and good service. Thank you
Fab pub, with good quality food and a lovely friendly atmosphere
Good food - straightforward and tasty. Friendly and attentive service. Thoroughly recommended.
Our first visit. Will return. Hot plates please next time
Good menu, cheerful staff. Good parkingPerhaps better signage from the car park how to get in.
We had a nice lunch. Service was a bit slow.
Fantastic evening with my wife and in-laws. The Stroganoff, pie of the day, and liver were well executed. There was a nice touch with some complimentary homemade crisps!
Another great dinner - ham, eggs and chips was fantastic!
Returned for another great dinner. I had the ham, eggs, and chips which was excellent. My wife had the steak sandwich. Will go again.
Very nice food as always. Always friendly and will assist with all you ask
Excellent food and drink. Very friendly staff made us welcome
Overall we all enjoyed our meals and are likely to return at some stage. Could not fill in the above questions, the computer would not respond to the questions.
Dinner for my wife’s birthday with a party of 6. All ordered different dishes and they were all excellent!
A very enjoyable lunch. Good food, good service, couldn't ask for more
A First class meal very good value and most enjoyable
We had a Roast Beef Sunday Lunch and it was the best one we have eaten out for awhile. We would highly recommend this place for the food and the staff were all very friendly.
Another great dinner with steak and kidney pie from the daily specials menu, together with hand cooked crisps!
Had to ask for menus after 10 minutes, and drinks a d then asked twice for bill. Service not good
Great pub with excellent food, beer, atmosphere and hosts. Also dog friendly!
Great little restaurant with a good choice of food. Nice location too
Lovely food and fantastic friendly service! Very dog friendly. Thanks
We arrived bedraggled after a windy day out at Charlecote Park a few minutes before our booking time - a party of 17, 9 adults and 8 children and as a small pub they coped admirably with us. There was a certain amount of DIY required on our part - I went in search of menus, we had to walk round to the front bar to get drinks/attention as bar staff were happily serving/ speaking to locals. However we weren’t in a hurry and we were so grateful for what was essentially a room to ourselves where the 8 kids aged between 2&8 could be relaxed and happy and we didn’t worry about disrupting others! The menu is simple classic pub fayre, and this was done well. Children’s meals were a nice size - suitable for older children and some younger shared. The adult food was great. The jewel in the crown was the Steak & Ale pie - menu states it’s cooked to order and wow it did not disappoint. Four of us opted for this. Others had salmon, whitebait, goats cheese salad and chilli. Vegetables served with food were straightforward: a wealth of (good) peas and a few carrots/simple salad garnishes. A note on booking - I booked via the website. They use a third party site called Quandoo. I was booking at table for 17, it surprised me there was facility to do this but all went well! Received a call an hour before the booking to check we were coming. This was reassuring. Now belatedly I can see there was a confirmation request via Quandoo the day before, but this had been filtered out of my main inbox to spam so I didn’t see it. All in all the Boar’s head at Hampton Lucy served our purposes very well, from being able to cater for a party of 17, to delicious hot food. I would recommend to others doing the same.
Lovely freshly cooked food in a nice friendly quaint pub
Excellent meal, great value for money. I would definitely recommend.
Very average place and food. Staff could do with a lesson in customer service. Have a very ‘not bothered’ or interested attitude. Won’t be returning
Nice little place, lovely village , well worth a visit .
Good food, clean, only thing when asked for at the end of the meal was coffee that type was not available
Lovely location , nice country pub.Small menu but home made nice food
Great little country pub. Good and hot food will go again
Generous portions (burger or ploughman's), and good service - thanks!
Good food and range of beers in cosy environment. Not too busy or noisy like so many pubs are in South Warwickshire.
Good menu great price nice staff dining room poor decor
Lovely pub. Friendly staff. Large portions of fresh tasty food.
Very disappointing service, food some not bad some not good, long gaps in service. Very quiet and lacking atmosphere. Did not feel welcome. Unfortunately we shall not return.
We eat here a few times every month. Great place, food good value and tasty. Staff very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the Boars Head.

Lively atmosphere, friendly staff, good choices of food served promptly even though they were busy
Had a lovely meal. Enjoyable. Nicely presented. Very filling. Would recommend.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent choice of beers. Food went down well too!
Enjoyed a quiet lunch with friends in nice surroundings and good food.
Lovely , friendly pub serving good food . We visited on a Sunday and had the roast turkey which was delicious. We would definitely visit again.
A friendly and welcoming venue with good reasonably priced pub food, a good selection of beer, reasonable wine and excellent service. The entry in the Good Beer Guide brought us here and the welcome we received will bring us back.
Superb Sunday lunch, friendly service, great range of real beers, couldn’t fault it: we’ll be back! Gem of a pub we really enjoyed for all the right reasons.
First visit for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. We had one of our sons visiting and he appreciated the double meat option. Busy but good service.
Lovely food and dog friendly. Service good and a nice selection of beer. Roast dinner portions very generous. Other food good too. We will be back
Excellent servce, food delicious, convivial atmosphere. The food selection was varied and we each chose a different dish. It was served hot and with a warm welcome from the small staff. Certainly worth the prices and felt content that we would most certainly return as we only live approximately 6 miles from this real atmospheric pub.
A lovely village pub, very friendly staff. Food was delicious. We were in the front room which was very nice and they have a back room too. It got very full so book first. Will be going there again even though we live in Worcestershire!
