Visited at lunch time to meet up with friends. Overall good but parts of the restaurant looked a bit tired.
Chose the venue on the basis of the online menu. Unfortunately this is no longer available. In general the food was reasonable, but I won't be writing home about it. The wine list advertised a French Sauvignon Blanc - which was actually Chilean! Over all - not impressed, can't recommend.
We had limited time and they endured we were served speedily
Really friendly, service excellent, food outstanding. Couldn't fault it. Already booked for another visit!
It was a Tad disorganised but the food was good and plentiful
We arrived at the Beech Tree, got our table and the waitress took our drink orders first. She then came over with the menus and told us that there are no roasts (was only 2:30) and a long wait for food. Her customer service skills were appalling and came across as very arrogant and rude so we upt and left. For future reference if you run out of certain things (especially it being a Sunday and most people prefer a roast) maybe it would be common curtesy to let the customer know before you show them to the table and getting a round of drinks out of them first. Shame as we have been before with no problem and haven’t seen this girl before but sadly she let the usually positive experiences down.
Staff suffered politeness by pass! very abrupt and slow. Food was not great- the beef was like leather- eaten by my elderly mother and her carer. Very limited menu for vegan/vegetarian and food luke warm
The Beech Tree is well located in a lovely setting. In summer the garden is a delight. The food is exceptionally well prepared, cooked and presented, so it is a joy to visit at any time of year. The chef is a real treasure.
Party of 6 went for a birthday meal last night at the Beech Tree - we all had wonderful meals, fantastically prepared and presented by Dave and Paul, who I believe were the chefs last night. Only 2 people could manage a pudding as portions were so generous! The waiting staff were polite and knowledgeable about the menu, which had a wide range of choices. The food prices are very reasonable but I think the wine is overpriced - having said that, it was beautifully chilled and served in an ice bucket. The only issue was the music, which was switched on halfway through our visit and as we had a speaker above our table, we did have to ask for it to be turned down a little. We will definitely return!
Excellent service, waitresses very helpful and friendly, explained everything, very relaxed atmosphere, great food had two children with us and a tiny baby catered for them all. No problems
Bar staff were absolutely exceptional. Calm, efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Was perfect afternoon. Food also really, really nice and great value. Thank you for making 18th Birthday family meal a success.
I picked the perfect place for lunch with my brothers. There was plenty of room for my sister in law’s wheelchair and the staff were so helpful. Drinks were served quickly but gave us time to decide on food. And the food, we all agreed, was excellent. Thank you to all the staff.
Very friendly bar staff. Dogs were welcome. Incredibly good food. Very nice atmosphere. Only thing that would make it perfect is food took a little bit longer than expected to arrive.
