Food was great, but we had quite a wait for starters and then they did not all arrive at the same time. Would of got 6 instead of 5.

I have been coming sporadically to this restaurant since it opened and throughout all it’s changes.over the year. It has varied but in the last five years or so I think has been consistently good and I especially like the two course pre-theatre offer though being a Saturday, this option was not available. Food was good, they were open to us sharing a starter. The main courses were very generous in their portions and The you were happy for me to take the rest home. A good experience, recommended.

Good authentic food served quickly - I’m a fairly regular visitor pre and post Theatre.

The food was lovely as usual but it is the actual restaurant ambiance that could be improved. It was exceptionally cold in there on our visit and we had to keep our coats on and the front door was constantly left open, my husband had to keep getting up to close it. The telephone ring was set to loud and was constantly ringing for people ordering takeaways which was very annoying.

You know you’re in a great Thai restaurant when there are lots of Thai customers! This restaurant was amazing - we had the Sunday buffet which was delicious. Cannot recommend enough!

Great place for a pre-theatre dinner, food’s lovely, served quickly and charmingly by front of house and only steps from the Playhouse.

Definitely make a reservation, this restaurant is deservedly busy. The food and service were excellent. We all shared the seafood banquet, which was a lot of delicious food.

Tried grilled whole sea bass! Nice for a lower calories option as I like deep fried one I had last time a bit more. Hehee.. like both though. 😊 They now have pork& shrimp dumplings. Will have to try next time.

We love this quirky independant family friendly restaurant and have been coming for years. Have always had a good food and is perfect for a alternate Sunday lunch.

The food was amazing, the restaurant was nicely decorated in traditional Thai decor and the staff were very helpful too. Will definitely be going back in the near future.

My second time here, with friends visiting from London. Great vegan food, great service and lovely staff. They even ran after me when I left without my bangle, which had fallen off under the table!

I have visited this restaurant several times since it first opened many years ago (under different ownership). I particularly like the fixed price early menu which, until this visit, was presented along with the a la carte menu and consisted of a two course meal - a starter, e.g. thai fish cakes, egg rolls, satay etc and wide choice of the main course, together with a soft drink including Jasmine Tea which is what I always had. On this occasion I noticed that the soft drink was no longer included in the a la carte menu and also that the special menu was not automatically given out to diners - I had to ask for mine and noticed that none of the diners who came after us were given the fixed price (early bird) menu. Having said all this - the price had not been increased and the quality and presentation of the food was first class - I will definitely visit again especially prior to a visit to the Playhouse.

We always enjoy eating here as the food and service are excellent. It is also very quick and very useful for a pre concert meal.

Great food, glad we booked as at 6.45pm very busy with theatre goers. Better 7.30pm! Service excellent with prices reasonable, and nothing was too much trouble.

A fabulous meal last night, as always. We love to come here and talk with the staff and practice our thai again. The Masamam curry was particularly good.

Menu has lots of choice. Food was lovely and very tasty. First time visiting a Thai restaurant and would certainly return again in the future.

Orchid is a small eatery in an area full of choices but great value. Food delicious and service excellent-we were glad we picked Orchid from the reviews on-line.

Ask them not to put in bamboo shoots in the beef chilli and Thai holy basil dish and the rest is perfect. The mixed veg stirfry is very good. Lamb is so soft in the massaman. I love my deep-fried whole fish too

Excellent meal, very good value and friendly service. The menu is extensive and the food is delicious. We will definitely go again very soon and will recommend it to others.

The starters were okay, main course really good, Masaman, seafood special, pad Thai and Som Tum. The tables are too close together though so an intimate meal for 2 was not possible!

Fantastic Sunday lunch buffet. Warm welcome on arrival. Good selection of starters, salads, soup, mains and little deserts. Everything was very tasty and fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it was amazing value for money.

A nice meal and polite staff but the service is very slow. We had the Thai banquets one seafood and one meat. The prawn curry was delicious.
